Best hotel in Southbank Melbourne”
Best location with good price. Near everything: river, attraction: Flinders stations, Federation square, restaurant (Vietnam, Thailand, Western ...), super market, convenience store ... Super nice reception staff, especially Ms. Brianna.
Location is great and staffs friendly.”
It's located very near the Southbank and walking distance to the free tram ride zone. Next to the Eureka Tower (Melb tallest tower) and Crown casino. Food are aplenty around the Southbank and a great value Italian takeout (Pizzas & pastas) at Roza's Kitchen (highly recommended by TripAdvisor) just across the BMW showroom.
Decent Budget hotel”
The location is good. Near the busy area, yet not too noisy. Everything was pretty good. The only thing that I wasn’t too satisfy with is that you can hear the loud sound of door opening/closing from adjacent rooms.
Awesome hotel except for no hot water!!”
The location of this hotel is very central. The staff could not have been more helpful. One elevator working proved to be a disaster. One gentlemen told me he waited 25 minutes as the elevator kept coming past full. Thank heaven for the staff members who let us use the staff elevator. Hot water or lack of , was also an issue. I had the hot on as far as it would go and cold completely off. I left it this way for 3 minutes before succumbing to having a very quick mildly luke warm shower. So location great, staff great, facilities poor.
Good location in Southbank”
Located right in Southbank, the hotel is just 5mins walk from CBD. Early check in was available and I appreciated it since we arrived after a long haul flight and were feeling exhausted. Room was basic but had everything we needed. Only complaint was the pillow-too soft for my liking.
3 nights at a central location!”
The room's size was not big nor too small - just the size for a single/couple who intends to spend more time outside than the room. Ideal location as the places of interest are of walking distance, some of them are the Yarra River, Crown Hotel and Flinders Street Station. As for facilities, occupants could utilize the clothes washer & dryer at minimal cost. Clean room & ONE HUGE PLUS POINT - the shuttle bus to the airport is right behind this hotel.
Nice stay but breakfast wasn't up to spec this time”
Great location nice room good overall stay.. Breakfast this time round was poor the hot food was cold.. Coffee machine not working.. On check out when I mentioned in passing that breakfast wasn't up to spec nothing was said and I felt my comment was ignored ... Didn't apologize or enquire what was wrong with it so their breakfast could be improved.. But don't get me wrong I have had good breakfasts here previously.. Just thought at check out acknolledgement of the issue should be part of the customer service
hotel was as expected. ”
enjoyed the breakfast being included
Another great stay in Southbank”
The Travelodge Hotel at Southbank has become our home when we are in Melbourne. For each of the past 3 years we have stayed here when on a short holiday from Hobart. The hotel is in a great location at Southbank & offers excellent value for money. It provides all the facilities you need, a comfortable bed & enough room to spread out while staying for a few days. I would recommend it to any traveller coming to Melbourne & wanting to stay near Southbank.
A good location and lovely staff”
This place is a great place to rest your head whilst in Melbourne. It is in a great location, right next to the Eureka tours and 30 metres to Southbank. The rooms are adequate and clean. Staff are lovely.
Location and friendly staff”
loved the location close to so many restaurants and bars. We caught the skybus to Eureaka towers and the the hotel is just a 5 minute walk away around the corner. Staff at check in were excellent and helpful. Room good size and comfortable beds with great pillows. We would stay here again as close to everything and great walking options.
Top hotel 10/10”
Location Location Location. Top little hotel, always clean, staff always friendly. And the price can not be better.
Excellent location to Rod Laver Arena”
Nice and pleasant staff checked us in and out. Room was very clean and comfortable. Great choice of restaurants at Southbank precinct which is a 5 min walk from the hotel. Also great to know taxi fare to Rod Laver Arena didn't cost more than AUD$13.00. Also return trip for a Skybus ticket was AUD$36 (and less if you have a Seniors card!) from Tullamarine airport. Overall, a great experience in Melbourne.
Overall is ok ”
We love the room design.clean and small kitchen is so useful, but staff no so friendly.overall is ok.
Friendly staff Great Location”
Check in was very pleasant with really friendly staff. All staff were welcoming and friendly . We went to Etihad Stadium for the footy and the Travel lodge was close enough to walk there about 15 minutes. The Travel lodge is close to many cafes n restaurants and parking was close by at a great price of $15 dollars for 24hrs as long as you don't leave the car park in that time frame otherwise it costs more . Check with reception who are very helpful. Breakfast was included in our stay and lots of options to chose from and very delicious . I would recommend staying at the Travel Loge and would definitely stay again ...
Great business hotel for Melbourne Southbank”
For a business/short stay hotel on the Melbourne Southbank this is ideal. Well equipped room, comfortable bed and free Wi-Fi offers - all a traveller needs. Not 5 star and stunning but perfectly adequate for the price. Only gripe was the bathroom light was rather dim, not ideal for an early morning shave.
Location was good, very close to Yarra River and bridge to train station. Room was spacious, and also provide microwave (even though we didn't use it). Staff were good. Only problem was the air-con/heather doesn't function well, feel quite cold at night.
Value for money”
Stayed here for 2 nights while doing Run Melbourne. This hotel is along Southbank, was only a 2 min walk to the start of the race and was kept very clean. Would definitely recommend for people who don't want to fork out $400 a night to stay at Crown!
great location-walking distance to the riverbank restaurants and cafe/ train.with free wifi and self laundry facility.excellent customer service received from the male trainee Dona who checked us in .strongly recommends this hotel and will stay here if we are back in Melbourne.
Quiet and close to city”
We are not sure whether short sheeting the bed is part of the fun staying at the Travelodge !! but we were happy with the quiet location, not much traffic when crossing the street, easy access to Evan Walker Bridge across to city, coffee takeaway out the front in the mornings !!
