Avoid this hotel if you can! "Non-Smoking" room turned out to be a Smoking Room! The front desk personnel (male) actually tried to push me into staying in that kind of environment, with no consideration for my health. I had to push back with the help of Agoda Customer service. No integrity whatsoever!!
Excellent location ”
Good hotel location close to food and subway. Room is small as usual per Tokyo standard. Friendly staff and straightforward check in/out processes. Free (but simple) breakfast for all guests. Would recommend to friends.
Excellent Location & Great Value!”
I’m familiar with Tokyo so I knew the location should be convenient with 2 major subway lines within walking distance. Turned out it is even more convenient than I thought - only 1.5 min walk from subway exit. The area is very lively with lots of food choices, convenience stores and bars around. The hotel itself offers great value with free continental breakfast and free drinks throughout the day. Yes rooms are small as expected, but clean and comfy. Recommended.
Great stay in Akasaka”
Pros: Location: couldn’t be more convenient to explore Tokyo or just hangout in the direct area around the hotel Free water in lobby: it’s so convenient to grab water going to and from your room. There’s a complimentary light breakfast of breads and cereal. Can take it or leave it, but it’s nice as an option Free Handy: free cell phone with decent data plan to use in Tokyo. Great to access Google Maps, browse the internet, look things up etc Rooms: small (like all of these hotels), but extremely comfortable bed and pillows, nice bathroom, safe in room, thermostat Staff: friendly, passable English
Spacious room in Tokyo”
I have always stayed in the Alaska Mitsuke area for its convenience with transit. This is the first time I have stayed at the Gran Bell Hotel and it won’t be the last. I stayed here twice this past month because the room was spacious and the bathroom was also spacious and modern. Staff was always friendly and helpful.
A surprisingly good hotel with spacious room”
I have stayed in the Akasaka Mitsuke area almost every time I come to Japan, which is almost every year for the last ten. I usually stay at Tokyu Excel and Centurion. This has them both beat for the size and beauty of the bathroom/Shower. Just a light continental breakfast in the lobby (bread, cereal and coffee) but who needs a big breakfast. The value for what you can get in Tokyo is great.
Location is excellent”
New hotel with large bathroom; shower & bathtub separate but without partition. Toilet in separate cubicle ( French style) n wash basin outside of toilet with enuf standing room. Room is bigger than usual Tokyo standard. Daily simple breakfast of cereals, coffee n tea at lobby from 7 to 11 am. U can bring back to room to consume. Abundant bottle water (chilled) at lobby level FOC for guests. Cons: most are smoking rooms. So if u are very sensitive to cigarette smell, insist on non smoking at time of booking. Don’t accept smoking rooms being sprayed to minimise odour as curtains absorb all the smell n it is nasty!
Small hotel, close to subway with elevator/escalator connected to ground level!”
We stayed at the largest room (27 sq m) for 5 nights, very decent size in Tokyo standard. Hotel is very small and clean you’ll get most of the basic stuff you need. Free flow of bottled water, tea bags & coffee at the lobby throughout the day. Breakfast means light breakfast only serving mini pastries and cereal, so don’t expect the buffet type. 3-4 minutes away from Akasaka Mitsuke station. Loads of restaurants around the hotel but most of them closed on Sunday. And don’t be faked by the photo of the hotel door front, it is located on a one-way street only. Likely to return in my next visit.
A street with all the restaurant ”
We rented suite room, it is very spacious with a foot massager included in the room. The toilet were spacious. The bed was big enough for both of us. We love the street, varieties of restaurant for us to choose. There were more than two famous restaurant nearby and train station were just few meters away.
Not only close to the subway station with good connections but also in a very nice area of shopping and restaurants. The hotel is modern and everythng very functional. Surprisingly the staff were fluent in English, which is highly appreciated in Japan. The breakfast is simple but enough for a business trip. I didn't dislike the idea of taking it to the room. I will come back again, for sure.
Very functional and good breakfast!”
Room was a bit small (could not really open my medium sized luggage fully without blocking the walkway) but otherwise it was amazing! Bottled water and many toiletries were provided, location was very close to restaurants, bars and DonKi! I really liked the breakfast a lot which consisted of a selection of bread, bagels, instant soup and coffee or tea! Oven toasters were also available which made a big difference :)
Great value and convenience”
This business hotel offers unbeatable value for money. The rooms are small but well designed with lots of glass and mirrors so that they feel much larger than they really are. It is 2 mins walk from 2 subway lines with great connections to East and west of Tokyo.
Good Hotel and Convenient”
hotel is situated close to shops, offices and transport. very convenient whether you're a business or tourist. the area is central as well. the room is more spacious than usual 3-4 star hotels. rooms a re in good condition and staff quite helpful. information is easily accessible. the hotel provides easy access to shops, amenities and there are a lot of good restaurants nearby.
The perfect hotel for a solo stylish traveler.”
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous for being a small hotel with small rooms. I love the modern design of the bathrooms with fixtures that you would find in a nice high end hotel and the bed is so comfortable. The staff is friendly and speak English well. There is a constant supply of bottled water and high quality loose-leaf teas in the lobby. There is a complimentary breakfast in the mornings which is a buffet of breads, cereals, soups and coffee/juices. It is very basic, but a nice option to have. Otherwise there are plenty of restaurants right at the doorstep. Excellent sushi or noodle restaurants. There is also an oyster bar, wine bar, pizza place and two 24 hr convenience stores. The road just outside the hotel doors is very small with little cars but enough people, even at late hours, to feel safe. In fact, there is a very happy vibe on this street. You can take a limousine bus from the airport to the Excel Hotel about a 5 minute walk away. The subway is a 1-2min walk away. My only complaint would be that on sunny days, it seems that the bathroom towels are air-dried and sometimes they have a slight smell to them that is not as fresh as if they were placed in a dryer. Overall I highly recommend this hotel.
Great hotel! Recommend. ”
Very convenient, close to subway station. Walkable distance to Roppongi Hills. Quiet nice neighbourhood. Helpful staff, good facilities. Clean room not too small. Excellent wifi. Handy phone available. Highly recommend.
No storage space/closet”
Short on space (you have to carry your breakfast to your room and no closet in the room) but very helpful staff and an efficient and super clean place in addition to the great location make t a good stay for short term.
entire hotel smells of cigarette smoke.
Average hotel and breakfast is lame, should not even be called breakfast!”
Will never stay there again, much prefer the Centurion hotels on same street and one street behind. I was given a smoking room despite my Agoda profile reflecting non smoking room needed!
Small, but cozy”
Perfect option for an overnight stay, very small, but clean space, and location is great!
Great Stay in Akasaka”
Location is very good, right in the middle of Akasaka. If you like evening activities, this hotel is in a great location. Cleanliness is always good in Tokyo.
