A bit too far”
Next door to one of the castle, but too far from everything else. Shuttle works but not in a good timetable. Not much surrounding places of convenience. One good point may be great area for a jog/run in the morning. Bus stops are nearby but the route takes longer than usual.
Convenient location with luxury”
A very convenient stay in nice rooms. Located on the major bus route to go to many famous temples. A walk distance to Kyoto's famous Gion and Pontocho. And also a short distance to the central station.
Clean, comfortable and convenient”
Though the room is not big, it's comfortable and clean, with good value. Lobby is big and staff are helpful. It is also situated in a convenient location, a few minutes walk from both subway and bus station. Mostly appreciate the free shuttle bus service running from the hotel and Kyoto station. Another good point is the free wi-fi service.
Over-expectation and impressive”
ANA Crowne Plaza Kyoto was really impressed my wife and I. At first we were really afraid that it would be difficult to find the hotel and also we traveled by public transport from Train and bus but it was very easy to find. The hotel was next to the bus stop so you won't miss it. It was central of the city and one most important thing, the hotel has bus transfer to JR station. :D
A great, short break in Kyoto!”
Just 2 nights in the ANA Crowne Plaza, but an excellent short stay nonetheless. The staff at check-in were friendly and efficient as we had come to expect in Japan. However, the outstanding staff member was Simon, an expat, who was knowledgeable and helpful in organising day tours and recommending places to visit.
Great hotel which exceeded expectations”
The rooms were large by japanese standards and spotless. We liked the fact that we had 2 different options fpr breakfast, a traditional japanese or a modern buffet style breakfast. Not too difficult to get around with a subway right next door. The staff were courteous, helpful and friendly.
Paid extra for a room wif castle view but no view!”
It was mostly all really good. Staff were friendly, room was not bad and spacious. The only disappointment was we paid extra for a room with castle view however the castle was under construction and was completely covered up, hence no view! Feels like we got ripped off.
Great value for money”
This is probably the cheapest hotel in town of this quality. Lobby was very impressive, the waterfalls were great and staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was not too big but very comfortable. It had a small table with two chairs, and a small desk. The bathroom was basic but also comfortable. The bus stop was nearby and the hotel provided complimentary transport to Kyoto's station every 15 minutes. We did not eat in the hotel as meals there were quite pricy, but there a few places to eat nearby and plenty of convenient stores.
great location, kind staff and good service”
We were stayed at crowns plaza for a sort period. But, we are specify with the staff service especially receptionist, they were always smiled and helpfully, rooms very clean. We are looking forward to visits them again.
Experience with ANA Crowne Plaza”
Check-in process is efficient & effective and staff is courteous. The room, though not newly furnished, is clean and of reasonable size. Though we cannot get a non-smoking room, the room we stay is free from smell of cigarette. The shuffle service is good, the driver is polite and helpful.
Enjoyable stay at mid-range Hotel”
On balance, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel, which is pleasantly located across the road from Nijo Castle. We slept well thanks to the comfortable bed & pillows together with a satisfactory air-conditioner. There was easy City Bus access to the Kinkakuji/Uzumasa area in one direction & to Nishi-Honganji Temple, & on to Kyoto Station, in the other. It is also only a few minutes walk to the Nijojo-mae Station on the Tozai City Subway line. The small Hotel gardens are particularly impressive, especially the waterfall & pond just alongside the Lobby. My only negative comments are that our room & bathroom, in particular, were small even by Japanese standards. Second, despite having a non-smoking room, there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway near our door, which I suspect came from the Castle Suite nearby, that leaked into our room & necessitated running the dehumidifier continuously as well as buying an air freshener. Finally, I emailed the Hotel a week before arriving to ask where my wife & I could catch the Hotel shuttle on our arrival at Kyoto Station but I did not receive a response.
Comfortable & convenience with the hotel shuttle. ”
Just 2 nights in the ANA Crowne Plaza, an excellent short and easy stay. Breakfast was good. The rooms were spacious and clean, staff was very friendly and professional, and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.
It's the best accommodation of my whole Japan trip. Attentive staff are there to assist all kinds of travellers. The room was big and comfortable for 2 travellers and bath amenities were of excellent quality. For future clients, keep an eye out for the eye masks they provide, I'm now a convert.
Pleasant and peaceful stay”
I enjoyed my stay at the ANA Crowne Plaze Kyoto. The swimming pool is excellent. The staff is helpful and professional. The rooms were of good size, and clean. Finally, the shuttle bus to and from the Kyoto Train Station is very convenient.
Efficient staff in a great location. ”
My stay was short and easy. I was given early check-in when I arrived (I did have to pay for a half day but this was fine with me), and the concierge (Simon) was very helpful. The room contained some handy advice and amenities for business travellers looking to avoid jetlag.
It's a good memory in my life!”
The Hotel has a advantage location! The transportaion is very convenience. moreover, the breakfast and dinner are so delicious. Our familys liked these few days in this hotel.Others,we also enjoyed the hotel's quality and sensitive staff, when we had been in stucked, the servers helped us in the first time.We would like to come back in the future! It is a really nice memory in my life!
beautiful, convenient, relatively cheap”
ANA Crowne was a great choice for Kyoto. They offer a fast and convenient shuttle bus right from the main train hubs. The hotel is beautiful, very high ceilings, and a good business center with wifi. It is also quite close to all of the main attractions in Kyoto. I would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were large and clean, staff was very friendly and professional, and helpful.
Nice and comfortable hotel.”
This hotel is very nice and large for Japanese hotels. It's an equivalent to like a Holiday Inn. Rooms are big. Nice and clean, big bathroom, comfortable beds. Few restaurants on site. Hotel shuttle which is a huge plus to/from the Kyoto station. If you don't want to pay more for hotel convenience rests on site, just take the free hotel shuttle to the Kyoto station. So many restaurants to choose from there, plus shopping. Free in room wi-fi and bottle water. Hotel is next to the Nijo Castle, so not much around there, that's why they have shuttle. But close to subway.
Very relaxing as everything I needed was first rate from the staff giving information to the food the room and the free shuttle bus from the train station. Kyoto the city is a mix of old and new and that fitted into the feel of the hotel and i loved it. Simon the concierge was really helpful and gave some great insights into where to go, many thanks.
