Quality Hotel In Banaue”
This hotel was a surprise in Banaue. It is a quality very large hotel with nice views from the rooms. The Restaurant was good as was the the included breakfast. The staff were very helpful organising tours and places to see. I would stay here again.
This old hotel did not see any renovation since it was built maybe 40 years ago. the rooms are very basic and as I said since centuries not modernist.. the staff is untrained locals, no management in place. the worst is the food...aweful breakfast selection and the other food from the menu..all crap what we eat..i would have fired the cook right away...all what he cook without taste, hard, overcooked, lukewarm... but since this is the "best " hotel in this dirty and crapy town you don't have much options.
This is the only proper Hotel stay available in Banaue for people who do not want to share the toilet and bathrooms, who need a safe parking, who cannot eat anything and everything, Who need a decent breakfast, who need electricity, Hot water, Towel and a clean bathroom facilities, etc.
Best and only hotel”
In manila or cebu I would give 3 stars maximum , but in the mountains it's the only hotel everything else is only a hostel the rooms are from the 80's with nice mint green washrooms..but everything works and is clean. The restaurant is great if you order from the menu the buffet is not so great. All in one the only place to stay if you are in banaue.
Better than what I recalled”
My family and I first stayed in Banaue Hotel almost two decades ago at a time that the Halsema Highway was still not paved and the trip from Baguio City to Banaue would take 12 hours or so through winding roads. The Banaue Hotel that I recalled staying in back then was a dark and dreary place with no hot water for bathing and frequent blackouts. Fast forward to 2017/2018 (stayed 12/31/17 - 1/1/18), when we arrived at the hotel after a 6-hour drive from Tuguegarao City, we were welcomed by a brighter and more open lobby than what I recalled. There was Wi-Fi reception at the hotel lobby. While the rooms are still dated, they were comfortable and clean. Fortunately for us this time, there was hot water for bathing though you have to make use of the bucket and tabo since the shower was not working but is still an improvement of NO HOT WATER. Food was okay, not something to rave about. Location was great since we were headed to Baguio City next via Halsema Highway.
Charming hotel, excellent staff, good food”
We were impressed by almost everything. Our only real concern was the thin walls between the rooms, which meant we were exposed to hysterical laughter from a woman next door. The staff reacted immediately and relocated us to a quiet room on the ground floor (first floor). It seems that a HOT powerful shower is not available anywhere in the Philippines, nor is really HOT food (although in this respect, this hotel performed very well). We loved the view from the balcony, over the mountains and rice terraces. truly memorable. In our opinion, the staff were the best-trained, most courteous and prompt throughout our ten-day trip in the Philippines. We wre even given delicious packed breakfasts as we had an early departure, before the breakfast buffet opened.
Centrally located with a view of rice terraces”
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Banaue Hotel. It was a good base for our trips to the rice terraces, including Batad and Banaue Rice Terraces, both Unesco World Heritage Sites. From the hotel, we went on a day trip to Sagada, Mt Province. We got all our transport vehicles and tour guides through the hotel. Banaue Hotel is a very quiet hotel. Not much evening activities except cultural dances on select nights. Banaue Hotel is not a great hotel but it's the only one in town.
Old, charming lodge with nice view”
this is probably the best lodging in banaue in terms of western comforts, plus the view from the rooms and the large dining room is great. we were pleasantly surprised that while it is labeled a hotel, it is layed out like a resort lodge. we enjoyed the cultural performance our first evening at the hotel and we found a nice selection of quality souveniers in their lobby shops. the buffet dinners are a good value (but only offered when they have sufficient guests). we liked seeing the large selection of western options on the buffet and the menu. the breakfast buffet was generous and varied each day. the hotel arranges for jeepneys and has set prices for each of the numerous site-seeing options. a/c is not needed ... fans surfice. we didn't miss the tv.
A nickel and dime fee for everything hotel”
Location is good. Facilities is ok just remember no aircon, no fridge, no microwave, no TV, but has hot water. Food is ok but not much on western food. Staff are not friendly. They nickel and dime you with fees in every little thing. The only nice thing was the cultural show in the evening. That was an excellent cultural show.
Probably the best accommodation in Banaue.”
10 min walk uphill from Tourism Office. Fresh fruits and bakery from market. Quiet rooms. Breakfast is good ( Phillippino food), limited western varieties. 20 pesos tricycle ride from hotel to market. 100 pesos to Bananue Viewpoint.
Amazing View! It's like finding a real treasure😊”
Banaue Hotel is totally amazing with its unspoiled view of the terraces and villages. Cleanliness is a plus. However, noisy guests can be heard sometimes but it's bearable. Their restaurant (also with a relaxing view) offers a variety of choices, and in big servings. Buffet breakfast for guests is okay for me, you get your money's worth. The pool looks clean. My family loved the place and we hope to stay here again. I can say that it's one of the best place to stay in Banaue😊, a blessed one!
The hotels interior and bedrooms can do with an upgrade (it’s still typical of the 1970/80s when it was built), it’s location is good, staff are helpful and, compared with earlier visits, the food quality has much improved
Stayed during Typhoon Ompong (Mangkhut) and we were well looked after.”
If you're going to see the Rice Terraces, then this is the place to stay. After exhausting sightseeing hikes etc., you need somewhere like this to recover and relax. Staff on the most part very friendly and attentive especially on the Front Desk. If they increased WiFi coverage and TV throughout the Hotel it would have everything you need.
It was ok.”
The hotel was quite old and woody, surprising as this is consistently rated as the best hotel in the region. The rest must be pretty bad! Room was average, but there is not a single plug socket in the room (only in the bathroom) which is not ideal if you want to charge anything! The facilities do not look the same as shown in the photo. Breakfast buffet was ok, however the western selection (anything that isn't noodles or fried rice) was very poor. Restaurant food was quite good compared to anything else in the area. Overall, an average stay in an average hotel in an area full of below average choices for accommodation. Best in the area? More like best of a bad bunch!
Loved the Presentation by the Ifugaos every Friday. Good breakfast. Good value for money
It was a pleasant time! The staff were polite and helpful!
excellent experience ”
nice property and enjoyed our stay . it is very good and clean hotel :)
Comfortable stay in Banaue”
Wonderful staff. Room was clean and had great views. Perfect for couples and families who want to explore Banaue on their own. Free breakfast was substantial. Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, too. There are packaged tours available at the front desk, but you can also simply rent a tricycle guide to take you to places.
Decent Hotel in Banaue”
Banaue Hotel seemed the only decent hotel in Banaue area. The hotel is old, and bathroom in the room is also old, some tiles are already cracked or removed. However it still tolerable. The view from the breakfast venue is nice.
The hotel is located up the hill from the centre but over looking some of the Rice terraces. It has lovely swimming pool but does not provide towels. The room 231 was large with 2 single beds and had a connecting room which you could hear the other people on the otherside. The carpet was badly worn and was in need of being replaced. There was coffee/kettle and water provided. Buffett type breakfast was included and the resturant meals where ok but a bit pricey.
