Atami hotels & places to stay

Really convenient and clean. Would love to stay here again. The onsen is small but with restricted times but still great. Where else can you stay at for that price with an onsen?

The stuff were very kind and patient, though his English was not good. Near the hotel are bus stop and restaurant and about 2km away from the ocean park

Location is 5-10 minutes walk from station. Location is opposite an izakaya which serves great ramen, korean food and live fish. 5 mins drive to nearby onsen which has an outdoor onsen with has superb sea and mountain view(Akazawa). The owner gave me a ride there. The owner was also super helpful in assisting with my needs, that was to find a dive guide on the day of check out. He also provided transport to the dive shop. Check in was smooth and payment on check out. Yukata and all amenities are provided. Room was perfect and cosy and was one of my best stays in Japan. Had a tub in the showering room but for those who want to visit a bigger onsen, they have discounts for a beautiful one nearby. All staffs were very friendly and helpful.

My boyfriend and I wanted to take a quick weekend motorcycle ride to get out of the city. I booked this hotel for the price, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The view from the 2nd floor was gorgeous. The bath was open air and had a lock so it could be used privately. The room was very clean nd very big for Japan. The fact that it had a full kitchen would have been convenient if we were staying more than one night. The staff was very nice and friendly, but spoke zero English so if you don't speak Japanese have a translator book handy. Downside was that it was a bit difficult to find and google maps got confused (but it being off the main drag makes it much more relaxing and private). If you're looking for 5 star luxury, this probably isn't for you. If you want a comfortable home away from home, then I would recommend this place in a hearbeat, we loved it.

Nice ryokan located about 20min walk from station. Restaurants and conbini take 15 min from hotel. Very nice and polite staff. Have a problem with extremely smelly male toilet on the 2nd floor. Great room and amazing views. Loved the ofuro onsen. Very relaxing stay.

Traditional Japanese style for aptment hotel. Location is close to the seaside but considering the uphill road not that smart choice when you leave the hotel to the JR station. I took a taxi to the Atami Station when leaving as the uphill road is really challenging with the rain. Staff are friendly and helpful, one guy who speaks English helped me to call a taxi that day.Appreciate! Private bath is the lightspot so as the roast fish for breakfast. BTW, the self-made milk is good! However, the bed make up is confusing for foreigners and no one come to clean the next day. Disappointed about that. Anyway, will consider to stay again in the future ! Thank you guys!

I think it's new hotel...All well furnished and complete amenities (microwave, water heater, fridge, even electricity sockets etc). Nice room, spacy room, super clean, and love the bathroom!!! However, the hotel is quite small, not recommended for traveller with baggage because no elevator and the stairs is steep. The bedroom is okay. The location is near with destinations and beach. Just by walking distance! Overall, it's value for money!!

We booked this one just a few days before we arrived, so we are kind of lack of information about Atami When we found this lovely city requires driving, we just came downstairs and asked Fujii san to help us for a car rental. He kept trying calling around 5 companies even we felt sorry for bothering him and already given up for a while, suddenly he said he made it and arranged all the process we need, that is a huge help for the random traveler like us. Except for the nice stuff, this hostel arranged for us a nice view room with big window, free and delicious breakfast, home-made style, fresh melon only for that day（how lucky we are!!）Tiny but cute onsen which relieve my stress off, really good for sleep tight. Acutally, I promise i ll visit it again when i come to atami.

No words to explain how much I enjoy. Dinner is excellent with lot of dishes, fish, beef, chicken, so many kind of soups fruits ice cream lot of things such a excellent..,,,,,.,,,,.,,, Hotel highly recommended. Once stay.

The hotel is within walking distance from Atami Station, which has a lot of shops in the surrounding. It has a carpark and the parking rate is quite cheap, which is good as I rented a car from Tokyo and drove to Atami. Room is a bit dated, but is clean and everything inside is of good quality. The design of the bed is quite smart, it has a empty bottom so that you can store your large suitcases underneath. Staff are very helpful even though most have very limited English ability, breakfast is included and is decent. This is definitely a good choice if you don't mind paying a bit more than a budget hotel.

It is a decent size ryokan with excellent services and cleanliness. The location of the ryokan is about 20 minutes drive from Atami station, it might sounds far but you will get the best of the serenity and sunrise view from the ryokan overlooking the ocean. They have scheduled transportation to the station, which make it convenience. Breakfast was spectacular, traditional Japanese meal, totally surprised me for the price I have paid for my room. Will definitely pay another visit.

Provided shuttle van to hotel at Atami train station. Hotel a bit old but clean. There are 3 onsen and a lot of facilities provided. Like the onsen so much.

My room was very clean and recently refurbished. Staff are friendly. Once you've actually found the hotel, it's convenient to the coast road (five mins walk).

I have chosen this hotel because it is near to the JR station. My plane was like spending 2-3 nights in Shizuoka for various reasons. Atami is famous for its hot springs, but please do not expect anything from this hotel! Honestly, the hot spring is not good, and it is quite old and feeling not-so-clean. I spent another luxurious night in another hot spring small hotel in Atami and moved to this Kanichi at the 2nd night. The hot spring is not comparable of course. Yet, the food (dinner) are still nice, and the room is expectedly big (enough for 4 persons). The location is fairly good, around 10 minutes walking distance from Atami station, but it is like a ascending slope, so if you were walking with your suitcase, expect to use some strength. The staff are nice, but when I check out, the lady wanted to charge me again…although I have already paid.

The hotel located within 10 mins walk from the JR station. The staff are very helpful and hotel room facilties are new and clean. A comfortable hotel and worth to re-visit next time when i travel to atami.

The location is difficult to get to if u r not driving. Check in was easy n the staff is friendly. The onsen they have was nice n quiet. But be careful not to go into the wrong onsen. One is for men n another ladies. There is no signs or english wordings for a foreigner. The apartment is rather old and out dated but clean. There is a full kitchen, seperate bath and toilet, a bed room with 2 single beds, 2 other rooms for 4 tatami mats. The surrounding area is relaxing n beautiful. The staff are nice n friendly as expected. Would return if im in town again.

We spent two nights just for relaxation and onsen, and were happy with our choice. This is not a ryokan but a Western style hotel, but we had a lovely, spacious tatami room with seaview, there are both public and private onsen, and very kind and helpful staff. For a budget onsen resort, this is a good option.

Japanese rooms were superb. Western rooms are small but adequate. Great value. Best to arrive by car. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Taxi to restaurants 1000 yen.

A lovely quaint hotel with great staff and facilities. Dinner, bed and breakfast in todays travels is rare so I was pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of food on offer. Beer on tap along with wine was also included. The onsen was spotless. Overall, it was such a great experience that I will certainly make a second (and longer) visit when next in Japan. Thanks to all staff.

My family stayed in the hotel for only one night before we travel back from Izu to Tokyo. Although the location is not at a walkable distance from the Atami Station (need about 30 minutes' walk), it is still convenient to arrive there by bus from the Atami Station for only about 5 minutes plus 5 minutes' walk. It has a spacious room (2 single beds) plus a 6-pyeong separate tatami room so that you can enjoy both room styles. It also served us welcome cakes. The free onsen (with outdoor onsen for men) was wonderful. The seaview from the room was marvellous to able to see the whole Atami bay. The staff at the reception were nice and the lady could communicate in good English.

Service is excellent! Speak moderate English. The room is super spacious and all room consists sea view. Love their breakfast as it’s jap style with varieties. Provide free shuttle from Atami Station thru and flow.

Lived in semi private economy cabin for women. Please noted that the ‘door’ of the room is only a curtain. There is no lock for the room. However, the hotel provides lockers for valuables. There’s a makeup room which provides hair dryers, hair tools, and cream for cleansing and moisture skin, impressive! Location of the hotel is fair. It is near the beach and takes around 10 mins walk from the Atami station. Convenient store is nearby with just 1-2 mins walk. Enjoyed the firework event which was held on the beach just near the hotel. All in all, the hotel is very clean and tidy, but slightly expensive for single tourist.

Great place and couldn't ask for more.. Our breakfast and dinner were great. We booked semi suite with private bath and even though not cheap but really worth it. Helpful, well-manner staff and provide very good service to us. I would definitely recommend my friend who travel to Atami to stay in this hotel.

Fantastic relaxing getaway from busy Tokyo, whole hotel has an outstanding ocean view, whenever or wherever you are in the lobby , in dining room, in your room or taking hot bath in onsen, you'll be able to enjoy an incredible gorgeous ocean view. For those who are new with hot spring here are some tips: Take a shower before bathing in hot springs to maintain the cleanliness of the water. Women should avoid bathing in hot springs during their menstrual period. Be sure to test the temperature of the water with a finger or toe before getting in to make sure the hot springs are not too hot. Avoid bathing in hot springs 30 minutes before eating a meal, and one hour after a meal. Do not drink alcohol while bathing in hot springs . Make sure there is enough air circulation in indoor hot springs facilities. Do not soak in hot springs for too long. Generally, 30 minutes each time is the limit, and one should not bath in the springs more than three times per day. Be sure to drink plenty of water before and after soaking in hot springs . Drinking sports drinks is also recommended. People with heart diseases and pregnant women should not soak in hot springs . Generally you do it like this: wash then soak again wash and soak, repeat as much as you feel. I really enjoyed my 1 night stay in New Akao and would recommend this hotel for those who put nature and adventure before luxury.

Best part was the awesome dinner & free drinks all night during our stay. This resort is perfect for couples with lots of entertainment options and private reservable baths. Rooms are a bit pricey and there's no ocean view but the staff were all nice and friendly.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is superb. We really enjoyed the japanese style french cuisine. Breakfast is served in the room so it is very relaxing. The hotspring on the terrace is big for 2 persons and is at good temperature. Thank you for taking care of us. Very much recommended.

the hot tub is on the top floor and has a great view; however, there is no hot spring in the hotel, just running hot water in the hot tub. secondly, i wish the hotel has internet connection, i have to roam my cell phone to get emails. other than that, the hotel has great view and easy access to everywhere in the atami.
