The Kayon Jungle Resort by Pramana
Ubud,Bali - View on map
"We stayed at the kayon jungle for the first 4 nights of our honeymoon and were completely blown away. The resort absolutely breathtaking and the setting is just perfect. The food there isn't the best we've ever had but everything was had was tasty. Cocktail hour was a personal favourite of ours. It literally is free cocktails (whatever you want) for an hour with really yummy canapes. Even though the resort was fully when we were there it felt half empty and really personal. What makes this resort so special however is the staff. They literally cannot do enough for you. They go out of their way to quickly learn your names and personal likes and dislikes. Little touches like ringing to ask if you'd like to make dinner reservations or telling the other staff your allergies beforehand. All the people we have met in Bali have been so lovely but the staff in the kayon, especially the butler's are another level. Don't hesitate in booking this hotel. There's a reason it's all over Instagram. "

The Edge Bali Villa

"- We were greeted at the arrival hall way before the customs check, and led Royal style through express way straight to the baggage collection area. The Visa upon arrival was managed by the Hotel at the Custom. Wow! - The Room was so spacious, more than enough for an extra bed with baby sleeping with us. The Indian Ocean view and the waves hitting along the coast down the cliff。 - We had 2 butlers, Astina and Panda to serve us during our stay, 24 hours. - We asked if they could arrange for transportation to Kuta for some shopping at eve of New Year 2014. To avoid the massive traffic jams and Taxi fare hike, they offered their transport for that day FOC. We went shopping right after 10am, and detour to the Beach for swimming and back to hotel and 6.30pm, beating all the traffics with well planning by Astina. - We were quite fallen aback when rains fell heavily at Kuta during our shopping. Astina was so kind enough to check every moment at the local friends on the condition at the beach. We get to the beach afterall as it was sunny there. - One of our initial plan to Bali is to watch surfing waves at Bali Beaches like Padang Padang Beach, Balangan etc. It was advised by Panda and Astina that it is too dangerous to go there with a baby and an elderly. They recommended a new local beach at the south of Bali. The beach was much more better than I thought. - Food was excellent, Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, all serves at the villa. We like the Nasi Goreng, Lamb and curry. My Mother-in law likes the chilli very much and makes Panda bring more in every meal. - We were presented a bottle of champange as a New Year gift by the GM Thomas Weber. - We got a chance to compare the neighbourhood, Bvlgari Resort next door。 Although both share the same cliff and view the same ocean, I like The Edge better as the rooms sits in front of the ocean but not Bvlgari's and The Edge are better valued. "This hotel does everything right it was absolutely perfect it really does have a wow factor. I’ve stayed in over 2000 hotels this is probably the best, seriously I just don’t see how they could make it any better. Check in was slow I guess and I made 500 photos in just 1 nights stay. Every corner you turn takes your breath away. Only open 3 months so got s good deal, it’s the best hotel in the area and I expect the best hotel in Bali. Very impressed. "

Viceroy Bali

"We can honestly say, this was our very best hotel/resort experience to date (and we have visited quite a few amazing hotels before we must add). To start with the hotel location. In the middle of rice paddies built in a gorge with amazing views from almost every room. This makes it a very relaxing environment with only nature and local villagers to look at. The rooms are amazing. All rooms have a private pool from which you can enjoy the views. We initially booked a terrace villa but upon arrival we were upgraded to a Viceregal villa. This is a huge secluded villa and when inside one can imagine being alone on the planet with nothing more than a private pool and an amazing view. The room is very clean and well designed. Nice furniture, spacious bathroom and good electronic features such as an iPod docking station (when spending so much time around your villa it is nice to have some mucis playing in the background). Hotel staff is very friendly and speaks good English. Due to the fact that there are only 25 villas or so, hotel staff can take time to make your stay a little more personal. They make time to have a chat and are genuinly interested in their guests. Especially food and beverage manager Stephane is very helpful when it comes to dining. He shares recommendations about the food and wine, a job well suited for a Frenchman obviously. The quality of the food is amazing. One can have great dining experiences starting already in the morning with breakfast. A la carte breakfast with an amazing choice of dishes never seen before. Lunch and dinner offer a wide variety of the finest cuisine accompanied with a huge choice of wines and other beverages. (only remark is that at some points the food and beverages are slightly overpriced, but that is what one can expect in top quality resorts like Viceroy Bali, so no serious complaints there). Overall this has been an amazing experience (still regretting that we did not book for 3 or 4 days instead of 2). We are seri"

More about Bali

Bali is a world away from the rest of Indonesia, and a longtime favorite with international travelers. Surfers have been coming here since the 1930s, but it wasn't until the 1960s that surfing vacations to Bali became the popular thing to do. Today, the trend continues and Bali sees as many surfers as it does affluent resort tourists.

Indonesia may have the world's largest Muslim population, but Bali fosters its own distinct culture. Hinduism has flourished here for nearly 2,000 years. Away from the beaches are fascinating Hindu temples, cultural exhibitions, terraced rice fields, and colorful festivals.

Kuta is the busiest resort district in Bali, featuring some of the top luxury hotels in Bali. Behind the main waterfront is a spread of budget guesthouses that are still within easy walking distance of the beach. From here it's a short trip by taxi or rented motorbike to Uluwatu, a massive limestone peninsula jutting out in the sea. Tourists visit Uluwatu to see the temple, go surfing, or watch the sunset over the majestic cliffs.

Legian is another must-see, as it offers an excellent surf along with exciting nightlife along the beach. Life in Legian begins and ends on the beach. Surf shops give lessons by day, and then give way to lively bars and live music venues after sunset. There is a reason that Bali is often referred to as paradise, and much of it is evidenced by a visit to the many beaches.
