"A regular visitor to Thailand I stayed in the excellent Ambassador Hotel on Soi 11off Sukhumvit this time. I say excellent because the standard is exactly how a €40+ per night 4 star in Bangkok should be.The Ambassador is a big property with many amenities. The reception area is huge and the staff are friendly and efficient. My luggage was taken from the Taxi and appeared in my room within minutes of me entering my room. The initial impression you get when you walk in to the reception area is 5 star but the rooms put it firmly back in the second division. They are not bad but quite basic. Everything works and at this price you can't ask for more. The WiFi is free and strong but does require constant re-entering of passwords which is annoying at first but you get used to it. Room cleaning is efficient and flexible. Long low timber ceiling corridors give it a kind of old cruise liner feel. Restaurants, Bars, Massage studio, Gym, Tailoring shops, health spa and several coffee shops are among it's many features. And of course that great location close to everything. Some of the best restaurants in Bangkok are here. The very expensive but superb El Gaucho Steakhouse, one of 2 in the area, is right next door. For Mexican try the Coyote across the road. And round the corner the Firehouse serves the best burgers in Bangkok. An Aussie Bar also across the road serves up the traditional full breakfast. I would recommend the Ambassador as a budget hotel without hesitation. "

"I really enjoyed my stay here and am already booked to go back two times. This hotel is a splurge for me since I am traveling for a year but I still think it's a great value and so nice to have a modern clean cool room to come back to in Bangkok. After not having wifi for 3 weeks I literally sat in my room and got caught up with my writing and planning. I did think the food was expensive, and the mini fridge too, but I think it goes with a nice hotel in Bangkok. And it didn't stop me from utilizing both. The staff was lovely and let me use the pool for a few hours after I checked out. The location is great for cheap street food but the hotel has amazing food too. The buffet lunch is pricey for one person but really good. Nice huge television and very comfortable bed. Best sleep I have had in months."

"The hotel room is clean and comfortable, with air-conditioner, water heater and Wi-fi. Moreover, there is a swimming pool and a lounge to relax at the top of the hotel roof. Besides, the staff is friendly and helpful, and they make my stay comfortable. One of the pros about this hotel: great location. The hotel is located along the Khao San Road, which is one of the tourists' attraction in Thailand. Along this street where I stayed (the street is just a small part of Khao San Road), you can find lots of restaurants, serving Thailand food, Chinese food and even Western food. Besides, you can find small stalls selling clothes and traditional Thailand food such as mango sticky rice and barbequed meat at cheap prices. For those who like to pamper themselves, you can find lots of massage shops here, at very vheap price too! The street is never quiet cuz the music is always blarring and people chattering. Yes, living in the hotel is never boring, with so many activities available outside. Transport is not a problem too, because you can always find lots of taxis and tut-tuts(a kind of traditional Thailand transport) along Khaosan Road. Moreover, many travel agencies are available to help you with your travel plans! If you are looking for a hotel with a low budget, great location and comfortable rooms, D&D is the hotel that I strongly recommended to you. "

"We booked under QVI and Club Ultima; hence, our rooms/suites are very large. The room assigned to us was very clean and with a breathtaking view of the Bangkok interchange. The staff are all very polite particularly those at the information counter. Ms. Oye, who assisted us in the dinner cruise booking at Chao Phraya river, was truly accommodating and provided us some helpful tips in going around the city. The entire hotel is very nice and elegant. Although the hotel is a little far from the downtown, it's ok because it's not difficult to call a cab and the fare is only around 70 baht (approximately from Makati to Malate distance). There are peddlers in front of the hotel and the fruits they sell are really good particularly the mangosteen, papaya, pineapple, and mango (sarap) and very reasonably priced! The 7/11 convenience stores, are a little far if you go there by walking; but a large grocery store, the Big C, is very near via taxi. The famous Chatuchak is also very near the hotel but we were not able to go there. Given the chance, I would still go back and book at this hotel."

"This is my second visit since last year. Showed some improvement at receptionist counter (More attentive and polite). Check in and out was fast, paid deposit of THB2000 for 3 nights by credit card which will be refund when you check out (Hotel in Bangkok need deposit during stay, so is ok for me). Booked Luxury Room at Main Tower, rooms are spacious, clean with stable wifi and clean big bath room with clean bathtub, everything as show in Agoda website. Only downside is the bathroom, very slippery floor, so be careful everyone. (I nearly fell a few times during my stay, hope something can be done before accident happens for other guest). Last of all, this hotel is very close to most shopping center in Pratunam and there are a lot of small night stall outside hotel and famous chicken rice are just opposite of hotel but will need to walk around 15-20 mins to reach nearest BTS. Will still choose to stay here if there's room promotion on my next trip to Bangkok."

"I enjoyed the stay at the Continent. It clearly follows a successful formula for Bangkok of providing a sophisticated product that comes across as having all the frills. The staff we genuinely hospitable and very efficient and professional and were helpful throughout which is a standard for all the better hotels in Bangkok. Ftether than that I would say my experience of the staff was on a par with hotels that might be charging a rate of 50% more. It does not really have the size and scale to feel like a 5 star property, I think that it is better classed as a very good quality boutique 4-star hotel. The rooms like the above indicates were well thought out with sexy design elements and fairly good quality fittings and maintenance but uses a lot of clever design ideas to mask the fact that they are not in fact all that large hence my reluctance to agree that it is a 5-star property. That said it was a quality and enjoyable experience staying in the room. Certainly for the price the hotel delivered plenty of value and is an easy recommendation to friends and family who want to stay. -there also was not much sign of any of the sleaziness that can be evident in other hotels in Bangkok."

"Great hotel and wonderful value for money.I arrived at 7 am and was given immediate check in.I booked a standard room and was impressed by room quality and size was not huge but very comfortable for two people.Bed was very comfortable and all facilities were excellent in room.I often stay at 5 star hotels in Bangkok and would not do so again when you can get a hotel like this for the price. It is excellent value and in a lovely quiet soi but close to all the action and BTS.This was first time I have booked via Agoda and will definetly book again as room and hotel descriptions were very accurate and everything worked smoothly.
