The City of Brighton and Hove was formed in 2000 when these two neighboring communities came together to form a unitary authority. The area is known to have something of a Bohemian atmosphere as it is popular with music and media types and has a large gay community. The city is easily reached thanks to its close proximity to London, and a train ride from Gatwick takes only 25 minutes.
