Traveling to Indonesia? Find Bukittinggi hotels

We stayed in other hotels in bukittinggi but Novotel is the best hotel in bukittinggi. We had connecting room with mountain view, connecting room are very helpfull for us family with young children, and mt view room beetween mt merapi and mt singgalang which is great view when the weather is nice. Nice hotel architecture, lobby, restaurant, swimming pool area are great for photos. Great location hotel near to Jam Gadang, market and many list of tourist spots. Friendly staffs and very very helpfull! Room was modern, all amenities (love it). Need improvement in cleanliness but overall we are very satisfied. Will stay at this hotel again when we back in bukittinggi!

i brought my family total 8 people from 3 years old children to 75 years old. i and my kids stay in this room, while my parents stay on next room (deluxe). the room is clean, even we can smell paint lightly, due its still all new. the view from window is also very good, especially during sunrise. i would suggest to take higher level to have better view. the swimming pool - while still new, but seems not designed really well. water are flooding in the toilet's floor and difficult to change clothes in the swimming pool's toilet. also, we have to really monitor the kids playing around the pool, since no dedicated guardian / hotel staff watching them playing in the pool. the food is very good. it's like combination of standard hotel food and native west sumatra food. don't be afraid to try each of them :) aside from that, in general, this is a good (best?) hotel in bukittinggi. hotel is still improving (some are still in finishing). happy to stay there.

Extremely pleasantly surprised. My expectations for this hotel were very small before I came. The price is quite cheap for a hotel in Bukittinggi. Affordable price, peaceful environment and comfortable rooms are the things I love about this hotel. Although the hotel is a little far from the city center, do not hesitate to choose this hotel!

Room not sound proofing when people outside talking can hear very clear. If room facing road there is big noisy when the peak hour begin. Very Basic there is no tea making facilities, but there is always a coffee and tea available at the lobby i guest it for welcome drink and i always ask for coffee there the staff give for free for gesture. The wifi just ok not high speed but still ok for communication using internet. This hotel seen renovated few house to become hotel and no elevator, if room at 3rd floor need to use staircase. The staff and the service is great. Worth to pay, basic need with economy rate

the hotel has a perfect location near Benteng Bukittinggi, but the hotel really really needs a huge renovation to make visitor convenient and comfort. the hotel needs to make a better parking lot so the visitos can enter and exit the hotel easily. with all those things, it will be the best hotel at Bukittinggi.

Not as expected. Was given different unit , not as per picture. Old building and a bit run down. Disappointed coz no water heater and they don't even provide toiletries. No sofa provided because the living hall is too cramp. Breakfast was good though , however it was packed and sent to your unit. No dining area in our 3BR unit. Imagine that you have to seat on the floor to have your breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay in this places In fact we extend our stay for one more night,it's so beautiful around the hotel,wich is the hotel right in the middle two mountain Singgalang and merapi,the Staff are really helpful and friendly,two things let it down are the breakfast not much choise,,the nasi goreng is cold,and they only breakfast for Western is only toast bread,and they don't have international tv channel,other that that it is a great place to spend a quiet holiday with the love one

This hotel is centrally located in Bukittinggi, and is very noisy. However, the staff were very helpful, the small restaurant was adequate.

Great little hotel in a quiet part of Bukittinggi that is still walking distance to all the attractions. Really liked the decor and the rooftop restaurant. My room was tiny but had everything I needed and was well maintained so didn't bother me.

Can't stop thinking that the Owner of the hotel is very fond of the antiques, and I enjoyed admiring the objects :) The hotel is a-walking distance away from the famous 'Jam Gadang' and Simpang Raya restaurant which is my favorite one. The room that I booked is a-twin-bed one, and we all felt comfort during short stay in the hotel. We might stay in this hotel again should we visit Bukittinggi sometime...

although quite far from the center of bukittinggi - the jam gadang, the hotel is still within the main township of bukittinggi. most impressive is the hospitality - friendly and very courteous. you can get advice from the staff as to where to get the best bargain for shopping. the room is spacious and clean, food is delicious and the cafe is cozy. you won't hear noises outside at night which will keep you fresh the next day.

Ambun Suri was a great introduction to the fun city of Bukittinggi, Indonesia. Although there were some minor language barriers, the staff went out of their way to be helpful. From prompt room cleanings to efficient and quick laundry service to helping us attempt to understand the public transportation system, the staff really went above and beyond. The only negatives that I have are that the bed was a little hard and the room could be noisy at times. Overall a great experience!

Staying at Kharisma Hotel is a valuable experience since the hotel is very close to major attraction in Bukittinggi. Looking for food around the hotel was also very easy for budget travellers like us. As additional point is there is catholic church very near the hotel so you just need to walk about 5 minutes to find the church. Breakfast provided also quite good even though there were not so many choices.

During the four-day stay we were the only foreigners in hotel. The hotel is located close to all attractions, including the tunnel of Japanese, Chinese wall. The staff were very helpful and booked us a bus to Padang and Lake Maninjau at prices much cheaper than the travel agencies offered. Maybe it's because we were tourist season.The breakfasts were very delicious, other dishes each day, but at 7 am set guests (probably Malaysians, Indonesians) was in the restaurant. In the restaurant you can dine in style. I would recommend tea with egg - a delicacy in the region. I would recommend this hotel definitely. Thank you very much for your help.

This was my first visit to Bukittinggi with Family and stayed in the hotel. the hotel offered fresh environment, with a stunning view of the mountain, specially the view of Bukittinggi between Mount Singgalang and Mt Marapi. However, they supposed to do a better work to clean the room and the area around the swimming pool. The food was fair. Since we cancelled our last day's stay, I really hope that we could have refund of it, eventhough just a part of it.

Located 10 minutes walk to clock tower. a couple of local restaurant and glossary shop nearby. Simple room with hot shower, but hot water was running out during peak hour. No hair dryer available. No Wifi available. Taste is not bad in breakfast buffer but limited choices. It takes around Rp350,000 by meter taxi from airport. but in return to the airport, hired car with other traveler cost more cheap only Rp 50,000 to airport which is recommended and arranged through kind front staff.

taxi from airport wrongly sent us to nikita putra hotel and guess what... mr syahril (manager) of nikita himself came to fetch us to a correct nikita hotel. so next time please mention nikita jalan sudirman. nikita is in the city center. nice hotel but the furniture is a bit old. the staff is very friendly. and the best this is... 1. food - fast food, just next to hotel. restaurant - just across the road got 2 'rumah makan padang'. even shop selling 'kueh' is just round the corner. 2. masjid - just behind the hotel. 3. pasar atas and jam gadang - a must visit is a walking distance (500m). 4. transport - just stand by the roadside in front of hotel... surely lot of 'angkutan' or 'kereta kuda' will stop!! since this is my first visit, i hire a car from a hotel and the supir took us around bukitinggi as a driver and a travel guide. took us to where to buy things at lower price. overall i enjoy staying in this hotel except that its a bit noisy at night.

we booked a standard room for 2 but was given a deluxe room because we prefer a bigger room for 3. thanks to the hotel management, we were not charged extra. the staff are very friendly and polite to us.

the hotel interior looks like old hotel. the breakfast was so-so. it tells you just right about what kind of hotel you'll get with 350k IDR in the centre of Bukittinggi. positive side? it is close to restaurant "family benteng" which is famous for its ayam pop.

The room is small, no windows and very noisy (construction just outside the room). The hotel confirmed airport pick up, but they never showed up. Actually the only road from Padang airport to Padang Pajang, where the hotel is - is blocked three days a week due to massive traffic jam. The hotel knew about it and thats why they did not come to pick us up in the airport, but they also did not bother to call us and warn about this. As a result we spent a whole night in the traffic jam (from 10 pm to 7 am) on the way there. On arrival they gave us a small, airless room next to construction site (so much for few hours of sleep). They really do not care about their guests. Try to choose some other hotel.

This hotel is conveniently located near the Menara Gadang or Jam Gadang, and the Lubang Jepang. We can easily find transport and foods from the hotel. Price is just right. On minus side, few hotel facilities does not work well e.g. shower. Other than that, I am happy to come here again.

if you a travelers that's only looking for a place to sleep during your journey in bukittinggi you can choose it. but the room it's look like a old house that less caring from their management. their staff also have a less attitude refer when they give me a breakfast with annoying hurry knock. but for Value for money hotel it's a good choice.

Rooms are small but clean, located very near to Jam Gadang, close to shops and food outlets. No lift, the stairs are quite steep, not much space for parking. Not suitable for older guests. Breakfast is just average.

there are a few "similar"names for Denai Hotel, even the driver who is a local confused sometimes. We end up at a wrong hotel before being redirected to the correct ones.
