JAPI Traveller's Hotel
"JAPI was a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect much from it, having seen the pics only on the internet. We just needed a place to stay in Cauayan, while my nieces were visiting their dad's family. JAPI was the only place with a pool, so I booked it. But I was surprised with the facilities and amenities, not expecting much from a "small town" hotel. The room was clean and the pool was great for the kids. The breakfast buffet spread didn't offer much but it was good enough to fill one's tummy. You can see security officers around the area so you get a feeling of safety. The only downside we experienced was when I asked for our room to be cleaned on our 2nd day, but when we returned, it was still as we left it. But other than that, our stay in JAPI was a good one."Show more

Amity Hotel Annex
"I arrived at around 6pm tired from another trip in an adjacent province. Reception required that I produce a print-out of my reservation despite showing a screen grab of the same and checking in her own computer that I indeed have one. Rather than the usual request for an ID, she insisted that I find a way to produce the same, otherwise, I won't be allowed to check in. I complained that they are the only hotel where I have been required of such. Eventually, I was able to convince her to print it out herself after I forward to her the Agoda confirmation of reservation.
As to the room, within the first half hour, I had three mosquito bites. I told the staff to spray the room while I went out to have dinner and shopping in the nearby mall. When I arrived, it seemed the staff simply used a scent spray and I had to endure the night covered by a blanket from head to toe, which was the better option than endless scratching from the mosquitoes that were still very much around. It was a very awful experience."Show more

Amity Hotel Cottages
"This could be a nice hotel, but the walls are made of paper-thin rattan, so you can hear everything that goes on in the next room. When neighbors are watching loud TV until 3 am, it is difficult to sleep."Show more

Traveler impressions of Cauayan
It's a very nice Province to visit if you have never been outside of Manila or north of Manila. Many shops at the SM Mall and people are very friendly to assist you on where to go.
Edward, United States
Tourism is not a priority nor was it ever a priority. I think the city is a half-way house for those who are travelling up north and back to Manila.
