Traveler impressions of Chengdu
chengdu is a relaxing city with very rich culture and tradition. The food and dining culture is a total difference experience.
I have lived in Chengdu for 4 years now as an expat. It is an ok city to live in, but touring only to the city would be fruitless.
A developing city with stages of upgrading. Probably will be a fully developed city in the coming a year or two.
Many tourist attraction areas in Chengdu. I went to Remin Park for a comfortable ear cleaning which never experience it in any places.
A cith that is rich in culture. With many many interesting restaurants as well as street food. A melting pot of the Han, Eastern Tibetan, Qiang and other minorities group - reflected in its rich culture and traditions Also serve very well as a base to explore many interesting historical sites, or famous mountain or ancient towns surrounding the Chengdu area
Plenty of sightseeing in the city both historical and current. Some taxi drivers are unfriendly. They don't like to take passengers to city during rush hours.
Chengdu is a good setting for day trips -- to see the pandas and other local attractions -- and longer excursions to Jiuzhaigou and other nature attractions.
The weather is much warmer than Seoul. However the sky is alwasy cloudy and gray. I am not sure whether this gray sky is due to smog or fog.
Chengdu is a modern and organised city with some historical flare in it - but don't expect too much. It's quite clean, like you don't feel dust when brushing along side the balcony after 1 or 2 days.
Chengdu is a town of full with history and culture but also with a lot of new generation follow the western styles.
i fell in love with this city because life was so much easier here! so many people spoke in english! Well the Panda's are AWESOME!They are the highlight of this place! i spent an entire day over there but didn't get enough of the pandas.
Chengdu is probably the best place to stay in China. It is a modern city with nice people, well maintained museums, and lovely pandas.
Good point to radiate out to other places and make your base. Went to Pingle Ancient Village, and Juizhaigou.
The Panda Park is a must see in Chengdu. You can take bus number 9 from The Northern Railway Bus Stand to Zhajuei si Bus Station 15 to 20 mins away.
Panda place and the Leshan Buddha are the places to visit. Be careful of belongings and travel by metro is the fastest way to get around.
With so many police in sight ie sub-stations, public square, it's rather safe to travel on our own even at night.
The place is not very accessible. There is no developed metro system and not all taxis run on meters.
Chengdu is a modern city but the people here do things slowly as they prefer to enjoy life. From tea appreciation, lots of food varieties and their favourite pastime, mahjong.
Chengdu is interesting in that the city is very old and has a lot of history. The silk road is part of Chengdu.
it is quite a nice budget hotel, worth for the value of money paid as it is near to the town centre and easy to catch bus and taxi, just in front of the hotel is a bus stop and there are a lot of cards with clear information of the view and sight seeing at the lobby which is convenience to the visitors and guests to locate and reach the places.

Great vacation area with many places to visit inside and outside the city. The food is Sichuan style and superb.
Chungdu is a modern, progressive-looking city. The subway is easy to use, and there is an easily accessed train station.
Chengdu has a few tourist spots to visit but I believe many people will be travelling to Jiuzhai Valley via Chengdu.
I loved the public parks, particularly on weekends when there were lots of people and families enjoying a taste of nature.
