Chiangkhong Teak Garden Riverfront Onsen
Wiang,Chiang Khong (Chiang Rai) - View on map
"The hotel is one of the best in Chiang Khong and good value. Rooms are modern and well equipped, I have stayed there once before and my only disappointment was the breakfast which was mostly oriental dishes (good for dinner but couldn't face in the morning) The chaffing dishes were unlit so the food was cold, and western selection poor. This time I took the room without breakfast, and went to the nearby Bamboo Restaurant, beautifully cooked cheese omelette, fresh baked bread, fresh orange juice, and freshly ground coffee, excellent. Other than the breakfast you would be hard pressed to find a better hotel in Chiang Khong"

Fortune Riverview Hotel Chiang Khong (SHA Certified)
Wiang,Chiang Khong (Chiang Rai) - View on map
"After our last disaster staying in a below par hotel in Chiang Rai, this was luxury. Amazing view of. Laos from our bedroom and the restaurant. Spacious and very comfortable rooms with comfy double beds (note they are NOT big King size beds!) Nice bathroom but shower attachment was broken in both our rooms - these should be fixed. Breakfast was acceptable with buffet style and included couple of thai dishes and usual fried eggs, ham, toast and cereal etc.. Could be more choice but was okay. Overall we would recommend this hotel - especially for the views and beds! "

Namkhong Guesthouse and Resort
Wiang,Chiang Khong (Chiang Rai) - View on map
"Very good big guesthouse, ideally located, experienced staff, nice big garden +pool with lots of chlorine.. The more expensive rooms left of reception are specially worth their money (600 -800 bt) . The ones other side (250 - 300 bt) have one disadvantage: walls are thin bamboo, wood floor creaks, bed also. So you have to be a sound sleeper. But there are hardly any outside noises. Everything quiet between 10 pm and 6.30 am, but you know what neighbors are doing. Breakfast (not included) is the usual, You can ask for fruit /muesli, though its not on the menu. We stayed 10 days!. For someone looking for a quiet break, Chiang Khong is a good town, green, good food etc.. Biking fine..."

Chiang Khong Hill Resort

"Just amazing. The guy who owns the place was so incredibly welcoming from the off, even though we were only staying for one night. He offered us lifts to and from town, and to the immigration controls in the morning, after serving a fantastic breakfast sat on the huge balcony with breathtaking views over the river and the surrounding mountains. We stumbled upon this place by chance as a last minute booking for our one night in Chiang Khong before moving over to Laos, but we ended up wishing we had more time left on our Thailand visas so we could just stay there for a few more days. Highly recommended."
