Great hostel. One of the nicest ive ever been to. Staff helpful and helped us book a Yangtze River boat 2 day trip. Food and dining options in hostel are great. The lounge area has a bar and pool table plus DVDs and special events. The hostel is near the metro and close to the shopping district. You have to walk up the hill about 5 minutes. Hostel is located in a...

The location of this hotel was excellent. Near to Line 3 Gongmao station , a lot of food outlets, a few shopping malls and Carrefour. I booked my local tours through the Concierge Desk. The Kempinski brand ASSOCIATED WITH IT'S Teutonic EFFICIENCY has always maintained consistent standards. My first encounter was at Xiamen, China 3 years ago which left me with a good impression. I decided to use the chain once again first at Chongqing, Chengdu then Xiamen again. All the staff from front office manger to door men were equally polite and efficient. The m...

I would say this Hotel rests within the heart of Chongqing's downtown and is very convenient in terms of location, transportation, accessibility to the city’s main shopping and commercial district. It is very near to the Central Entertainment District and are both within walking distance from Glenview ITC Plaza Chongqing. Hotel is designed and equipped with modern ame...

Pros: the spaciousness of the 2 bedrooms apartment was beyond my imagination. Decorations were nice and beddings were really comfy. The Yangtze River review (Nanbin Rd) through every room were absolutely stunning. Staff were helpful. Room service evreyday none like some others. The value was definitely beyond 4 stars. Cons: if you are not familiar with Chongqing, be ...

We were so unfortunate to encounter luggage's pad lock issues. Unable to open our pad lock after trying for 30mins. Call to front desk for helps. They sent their engineer to our room. Helped us open the pad lock using their tools. This is going above and beyond their services in helping us solving issues. Really pleasure and appreciate it.

The hotel is situated in a very good location, attached to a shopping mall with nearby access to several more within 5 minute walking distances. Overall, the general feel about the hotel was quite friendly and warm. Upon reaching the hotel, a mere 20 minute journey from the airport, the check-in process was a breeze, done in a quick 5 minutes process, there was even a...

the hotel is located at the city center that you can walk to a major shopping area within seconds. however, taxi fare in chongqing is quite cheap and you do need to take taxi to most of the tourist spots that the location factor isn't particularly important as long as you live around the city center. I would not say the hotel is old, but it's definitely not new. the...

Excellent place to stay for a few days holiday. A great hot spring just next door with the hotel offering fantastic breakfast and hot spring entrance fee. Hotel breakfast is fantastic, spoilt with option. Many local food option available just outside the hotel too . Easy taxi ride to major local must go places. Hotel staffs are very helpful and friendly.

We (a group of 8 travellers) arrived here for a 2 nights stay before we headed back to Malaysia. After much research, we finally decided on this hotel. The check in was fast and the front desk staff were very helpful. They even showed us how to use the elevator with the security features. We also booked their airport transfer (at a fee, of course) so there was no ha...

We called the hotel from the airport and the car came within five minutes to pick us up. The check in was quick. In the room we noticed that I've accidentally booked a one-bed room. The hotel worker who bought our many luggage took care of the whole room switch, and we got upgraded to a bigger better room for only 12 euros. We were extremely contend with our new ro...

We were very happy with our visit, besides the fact that the pool was closed just for the short time we were there. Other than that, everything was excellent, the staff was polite and courteous, without being nosy or pushy, very different from most of our other experiences in China. The bed was a dream, the bathroom very fancy. The morning breakfast was pretty good,...

Very nice view from the balcony inside my room; walking distance from the exhibition hall; quality 24/7 in-room food delivery; friendly and professional staff especially the lady at the reception during midnight shift; I had a very pleasant stay in Chongqing despite of the hot weather. Thank you for the good memory.

I was trying to stay in a good hotel in Yuzhong so I have chosen a four star hotel before I check in to Somerset. The hotel was so bad I decided to try Somerset as it is a Singapore Hotel in Chongqing. Well, when I reach Somerset I will really shock as it is also a four star hotel and yet it is so much better than the previous hotel I stay. Frankly speaking, I will now...

superb hotel and value, but has none of the 3 l's. 1/do not belive it is 2.75km from arrivals at the airport. it's a significant cab drive, and i expect the cabbie was straight. 2/it is at the airport. that's the middle of nowhere in chongqing. it's a 10 min walk to the train (after a 30min cab wait), followed by a 40min train ride to down town. worth the exper...

Stayed here for Chongqing Marathon 2019. About 2 km to the start point/end point. My room has a beautiful view of the Yangtze river and its bridges. Not close to MRT but taxis are relatively cheap. Limited dining options in the area but the Japanese restaurant served decent food. Staff were courteous. Room facilities were top-notched.

Only two minor recommendations. A small desk lamp is need at the desk in the room. The ceiling light is insufficient when working at the desk. The second recommendation is to put salt and pepper in the dispensers at the tables in the dining room. Otherwise, this is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at.

Great location that located at Line 1 Exit 4 Jiaochangkou. Not too worry about this hotel are in a Muslim Building, just do not bring any non halal food, but people still smoke. King size bedroom are really a big bed and basic amenities provided. Entrance door of hotel room are abit fragile, and look old. will recommend for budget traveler.

Super convinient location, airport bus stop just around the corner. Most sought after is, you can find the tour agency open till 11.30pm next to hotel main lobby. The weakness is the hotel share the lobby named as World Trader Hotel, you may walk two around the premise but still can not find how to reach the hotel.

If you're looking for a hotel, then skip this place. It's a hostel. Since it's a hostel it also has dorms and communal bathrooms along with DIY laundry facilities and a train and airplane booking service. Anyway, we opted for a private room. The first room they gave us had mold (wife is allergic) so they switched us to a different room. The hot water dispenser down...

Almost the ideal hostel - they thought of everything. Metro stop is just a 1 minute walk behind the hostel (no noise) and a 24 hr store nearaby. Staff is wonderful. Owner takes the time to welcome you. Sits down with you to show you what to do in Chongqing - even hand draws maps including Chinese in case you get lost. Dorms are fine. Stayed in 8 person dorm and besides...

The hostel is quite new, renovated a year ago. It is really clean, shoes have to be taken off before entering the hostel. The whole unit is air conditioned, desk and chairs are clean and cozy! The location is splendid, which is just 1 minute walk to the JieFangBei walking street, 30 seconds walk to the subway station. Staff is really nice, gave me great recommendations...

The Hostel is in the 50th floor oft a cascade of towers, directly besides the river. There is no sign at the building, in the floor or elevator. You need help by Chinese neighbours, while most neighbours also cannot help. If you succeed to find the entrance you need a code for the main entrance and the entrance in floor 50. If you finaly did it (it took me around one...

I had difficult time when i tried to find a hotel for a girl traveling alone (can speak some mandarin). I initially wondered whether this hotel was safe or not, but after i stayed 3 nights there. It look scary in the first place, but it was not as bad as i thought. The staffs are nice. The room is simple and has basic things for tourists. There are other businesses op...

- bath towel should be provided at least for 2 people. - drinking water should be provided at least 2 bottles a day - There was no window for seeing things outside. So it was a little bit uncomfortable. - the staff cannot speak english, so it was so hard to communicate with them

Nice friendly and helpful staff. Can be arranged earlier morning shuttle transfer to Jiangbei Airport (fair charges). Just slept few hours and then need to wake up near morning. Morning call was arranged by friendly hotel staff. If I went to chongqing again, i will choose this hotel again. ^. ^

Well, if you could endure a room without windows, book it. I hate the fact that they didn't mention anything about windows, so everyone would take it for granted that each room has a window. The location is good for sure. You can walk to the most famous tourist spot in a few minutes. Cleanness is a problem also. I see the floor is dirty and I guess it's not easy ...

Great lcentral ocation at Nanping city centre with underground subway with cinema and Starbucks in same building Rooms are huge and well equipped, comfortable beds. Had 7 nights stay here, moving from 7 Days Inn Jiefangbei where rooms were smaller and older Great amenities in 5 mins walk distance, with Parksons Department Store, Starlight Mall, Bai Lian Mall and Wand...

Negatives - room was very warm when I arrived and I could not get the aircon working. I didn't ask but I have a feeling it gets switched off. At other times the room was cold (December)but no way of heating it up. Location may be a problem for some - getting a taxi not to much of a problem as you are on the right side of a busy causeway. Getting one home always meant t...

Perfect location ,just opposite the Wulong Kasite Tourist area and can get the bus to wulong in front of the hotel . Because of accident on the way to wulong ,we 're arrived hotel at the midnight ,staff still there behind the counter to help us check-in (she can't speak English but google translate can help us ) . Baggage storage 's available here after check-out . R...

Really friendly staff, especially if you can speak Mandarin or Chongqing dialect — that got me a sweet upgrade! Great location, super cheap, very basic rooms but clean and all you'll need. This place is a one kilometer walk to the famous Liziba station where the sky train station is located actually inside an apartment building. One thing to look out for though is that...

When we arrived the staff tried to charge us more for the room than what we had booked it for. They told us that our booking had been cancelled even though I never received any notification for it. It took us telling them we were going to walk away to find a new hotel in order for them to honor our booking. They all of a sudden had an open room for us then. The room wa...

the hotel is located on two floors within a two year old 30 story building. the building is located within a very large plaza, which also contains a very large two story shopping mall and cinema. across the street are five adjoining major chinese banks, which includes the icbc bank, which is china's largest bank and also within the top 5 world banks. there is a subw...

The hotel is located next to Jiefangbei Food Street, subway station, and a supermarket, making it more pleasant and convenient to stay. In addition, it is in the walking distance to Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street and shopping area. However, the staff barely communicate in English. So, highly recommend to have Google Translate.

This is a terrible place, very hard to find, office is on 26th floor. We booked 2 rooms, they put us on different floors but due to key security for lifts we could not visit one another. Woke in the middle of the night to a very wet bed because the airconditioner was leaking. Nothing good about this place.

The room was clean and boasts a magnificent view of the river, and in the mornings you get greeted with the foggy but nonetheless majestic view of the high-rises across the river. The hotel is roughly 800m away from liang lu kou train station, the one with the really long escalator. (Quite honestly, the train station itself is worth a visit just for the sake of HuangG...

Really really cozy and clean room, I was so lucky that I found David's Deer as my temporary home in Chongqing! This hotel definitely highlights my experiences in chongqing! I was so calm and comfy in the past few days of staying and I truly think David's Deer did a great job in terms of making guests feel like home. All the staff there were truly friendly and kind. the room is very spacious and clean. location very convenient, very near to metro and only several stops away from the heart of the city. the hotel is located right inside a huge shopping complex so there are tons of shopping and eating right there. breakfast also good. it has local food and very tasty.

My overnight stay was excellent. The breakfast was a very good mixture of western and Chinese food. The coffee maker, which served up espresso, cafe lattes, etc. was a nice surprise. The location is a bit far from a subway stop, but it is very convenient to a couple of small malls for food and drink. The room was very clean and well laid out.

My stay at Chongqing north Holiday Inn was relaxing and enjoyable. Most of the staff had some English and so communication for the non Chinese speaker was not really a problem. The hotel interior was really quite stunning, with a tasteful curved mezzanine dinning area above the ground floor breakfast dinning area. The rooms had plenty of natural light with opening w...

Practically everything about this hotel is old and tired, from the facilities to the rooms. The WiFi is absolutely dreadful and shouldn't really be advertised as available. This is not a 5-star hotel, and would struggle to compete with the standards of any 3-star hotel. It's not all bad, with a location close to the airport, and a metro station and a modern shopping ...

Overall this hotel is a pretty good bargain for the price they ask. It's not very far from either the train station or the airport. I would not recommend paying for the breakfast buffet unless you really like Chinese style breakfasts. They have a few western dishes but for over 10 USD per person it wasn't worth it for us, plus the hotel is right across the street f...

Stayed here for 3 nights. Service provided by the concierge and reception was excellent. They were always responsive and helpful. Breakfast had a decent spread of Chinese and western food. Facilities in the hotel such as gym and swimming pool are free. Room was large for its basic luxury room. There are really little hotels in Chongqing that can provide the same level ...

We arrived very late, around 2am. So sorry to disturb the front desk staff at the hour. Sadly the staff never mentioned regarding my booking with breakfast, even while we checked out at 9am, the staff never mention about it. Our room actually one floor higher, which mean that we have to carry our luggage through stairs to another floor. Overall about the room, quite ni...

When we stayed at the Jinjiang Oriental over a weekend for short stint to Chongqing, we were offered a superb room for a very inexpensive price. The hotel is only open since October 2008 and all the facilities and room amenities are modern and conform international level. The service is very friendly as one expects in Sichuan. Food and beverages in the different resta...

Easy access - 2 stops - to financial district via subway located below the hotel tower. Beautiful views. Hot tub AND steam plus sauna. Even my favorite stair climber machine in gym. Big room and good facilities in the room, but I never see the fridge is locked, you need to contact the front desk if needed. There are lots of people here to attend a meeting, poor room insulation makes me not sleep till 12 o'clock. It will spend 20 minutes from the hotel to the airport, the hotel provides free airport transfer, which is quite convenient.
Traveler impressions of Chongqing
Not yet on the tourist trail, so not a lot of foreign visitors. Still, the locals are very helpful. Our taxi driver played tour guide when we went to Chiang Kai Shek's house.
This is a nice place for vacation and relax since weather is good and you can walk around on the city.
We have lived in Chongqing for 18 months and it is a very dynamic city. There are old parts of Chongqing you can find but you need a local person to help since they are being demolished quickly! I suggest you visit Ci Qi Kou and especially the Tang family house (on the right as you enter the old town).
I travel around China very frequently, but Chongqing is my least favorite city. People are crude, rude, unsophisticated, loud, unkind to strangers, and often dirty.
Chonqing has a great metro system, with English signs and announcements and English options on the ticket machines.
Terrible place in a permanent state of unrest. Only good to catch the 3 gorges cruise ship to Yichang
Did not have much time to travel around chongqing because we only have 1 night to spend in Chongqing after our arrival from cruise journey.
- Yuzhong area (jiefangbei) is a must - Chaotianmen, you can pass it - Spend 2-3 hours at the old town Ciqikou, you would love it - Don't take a cap travel around downtown, bad traffic, and the cap driver get use to taking another customer during your ride.
I was a bit disappointed with my stay in Chongqing. My initial plans to visit the hot springs were all thwarted because none of the transportation runs to the location at the time.
A major metropolis with an interesting sub culture. Chongqing lifestyle is very unique and offer transcending feel to first time travelers who wish to see a city that is beyond the invasion of major international brands.
A short free and easy trip. First time in Chongqing. Would consider revisiting Chongqing if time permits.
for what i saw, it has a lot to offer , if you had the time. unfortunately i was restricted to just 2 days.
This country have many places that it's interested to visit such as People's Museum, Indipendent Museum etc.
Enda fördelen med staden är att Finnair flyger billigt dit och sen gäller det att snabbt ta sig vidare
Cost of food and transportation is relatively cheaper than other Chinese metropolis, especially the coastal ones such as Beijing, Shanghai, or Hangzhou.
Many people only come to Chongqing to get on a boat down the river to do the Three gorges cruise. They are missing out on the wonderful experience that is Chongqing.
Chongqing is a wonderful city. the only downside is that the people there speak very little English. However, we still managed to get around OK.
While the old river front was very interesting , picturesque , historical and worth seeing the whole city is very big and appeared to be quite polluted.
It's one of the beautiful city of China in my opinion. The night scenery of Yangtez river side is quite impressive and beautiful.
I was surprised at how green the city is. There are trees everywhere and glimpses of old city walls can be seen when travelling about the Yuzhong District.
Chongqing is a very vibrant city. But traffic jam is very bad. To and from Yuzhong, the traffic is bad.

For tourists, the number-one draw is the Three Gorges river cruise, which can be booked through most hotels in Chongqing. The plush cruise ships are busiest from September to October when the weather and scenery are optimal. On-site attractions include museums related to the city’s stint as a wartime capital in the mid-20th century, an intentionally bohemian artists’ village, and the Three Gorges Museum. Historically part of Sichuan, Chongqing has a spicy-hot culinary tradition, and Mongolian-styled hot pots abound. A tour of Chongqing’s best hot pot restaurants is a highlight of any visit.
Fervent investment has produced a great selection of accommodation in Chongqing, including a few 5-star franchise giants in the city center. In all, Chongqing has hundreds of hotels, with something in every price range. Be sure to check out the interactive map of Chongqing for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
