Hotel De Condor
Lo Voi Beach,Con Dao Islands - View on map
"The hotel and breakfast was great. Staff were helpful, though they speak very basic english. The location is perfect. The room was cute and nicely decorated, however, the bed was harder than a rock, maybe something they need to change. They also have 2 dogs and 2 cats in the hotel. The cats can become quite aggressive and jumping on our tables and chairs during breakfast. They should advise this when booking that they have pets as this isn't a likeable scenario for everyone. But overall, we loved our stay here and will definitely choose them again wheb we come back to Con Dao. "

Six Senses Con Dao
Dat Doc Beach,Con Dao Islands - View on map
"We loved every minute of our stay on Con Dao Island. I had never been to a Six Senses resort and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a romantic getaway. We stayed at the resort for three nights on the end of our whirlwind trip through Vietnam and it was perfect, our only problem was that we had to leave. Six Senses isn't cheap, but we went all out, had massages, ate there a lot drank a lot of cocktails and adored it. Our private butler Nghia was divine, the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the sheets were so soft. We slept with our door open and mosquito net down and listened to the ocean so falling asleep was blissful. The resort is designed in such a way that even when it is at full capacity, you barely see another soul, whether it be on the pristine beach, in the spa or even the bar. It never feels crowded, just incredibly serene. We were very lucky with the weather, it was stunning every day. I loved swimming in our private pool overlooking the ocean and then running down to the ocean (20 metres away) and swimming in the warm crystal clear water. I would send anyone back to this resort, we can't wait to get back there. It truly is absolute paradise. "

Tan Son Nhat Con Dao Resort
An Hai Beach,Con Dao Islands - View on map
"The only place with Beach Bungalows in Con Dao, and also the only Beach Bar/Restaurant on the entire island. And the Bungalows are beautiful. Its about 30 m to the beach, which has palm trees, also rare on Con Dao. Personnel is very friendly and helpful, no fuzz. Nice dogs too, and many lovely details. The terrace chairs are partly not comfortable, should any suggestions be required."

Traveler impressions of Con Dao Islands

More about Con Dao Islands

An archipelago comprised of 16 islands off the coast of Vietnam, Con Dao Islands is a destination of immense natural beauty coupled with a dark past that is remembered in the prisons and cemetery that scatter the islands. The area is also considered a national park. The historical relevance of the islands draw many domestic travelers, and more and more foreign tourists are finding their way here to take in the island’s story against the backdrop of exotic wilderness. The islands are served by Co Ong Airport.

Being a collection of islands, water sports and relaxing on the beach are quite popular activities for travelers here. An Hai Beach and Lo Voi Beach are the town beaches, and a few accommodation options can be found near the former. Catching the sea turtle nesting period between June and September can add a unique experience to visiting the islands. On the more solemn side of the island are the 11 prisons, some built during the French-colonial period and others built by Americans during the war. Today, these tiger cages and prisons serve as museums and historical reminders of Vietnam’s darker periods. The many thousands who died here were buried in Hang Duong Cemetery. Many Vietnamese take pilgrimages here, and some make a midnight stop at the tomb of national heroine Vo Thi Sau to pray and make offerings.

The vast majority of accommodation in the Con Dao Islands can be found in the town located on Con Son, the largest island of the archipelago. A small selection can be found away from the town and nearer the beaches.
