Traveling to South Korea? Find Daegu hotels

The Hanok & Spa was really difficult to find because actually, its also associated/under the same owner as "The Style" hostel. On naver maps they listed the Hanok & Spa as being in the same location as the style. I didn't know the 2 were associated, so I was walking around at night aimlessly. By chance I decided to go into the style and ask for directions--apparently CHECK IN and CHECK OUT is at the Style. The staff member led me to the Hanok & Spa which is located down the road a bit down some dark alleyway that would've been impossible for me to find without the staff member. Its about a 10-15 minute walk from Jungangro station, which is a bit far. Other than that, my stay was great. It just so happened that I was only staying 1 night, and no one had booked in the 4 person female room I chose. They upgraded me to a single room with a double bed. There was also only 1 other couple staying that night, so I pretty much got the entire hostel to myself. It was very clean, and the bathroom was very nice, spacious, and they even provided body wash, shampoo, conditioner, a towel, and a hair dryer. You need your own tooth brush and toothpaste. My stay there was very comfortable, and the staff member was very sweet and helpful. She was very talkative and sweet. She was Korean and claimed she couldn't speak English very well, but the staff there actually do have good English. In the morning breakfast is served at the cafe in The Style hostel. It's a simple toast and jam breakfast, and they also provided instant Korean mixed coffee and tea. They also have eggs that you can cook yourself on a mini burner. Overall, I had a great experience and definitely recommend anyone traveling to Daegu to stay here!

I was in Daegu for a conference and the location from The Style to the conference locations were 10-15 minutes walking. Access to public transportation was also very easy. The staff at The Style were very kind and helpful and always greeted you with a smile. My bed was large and comfortable, all the basic amenities one might need was provided for, they even gave us a simple but filling breakfast every morning. I would stay here again if I do find myself in Daegu in the future.

10/10 Staff friendliness/helpfulness!! The girl at the front desk was very welcoming, and the hostel offers a wide variety of city guides including food lists and course outlines. Facilities were well-managed and spotless in terms of cleanliness. I'll definitely be staying here the next time I visit Daegu!!!

The staff here are very friendly and eager to help you out whenever you have any problems. Though the place is somewhere around the quiet street, but it is very convenient and near to tourist destinations. Overall, the place is clean and comfortable. Would recommend this place if you're looking for a place to stay at Daegu!

First of all the place was really difficult to find and for some weird reason google map could not locate it, so I had to ask shop owners from around the place for the location. The sign for the guesthouse is really small (quiet easy to miss if you're not looking) and the guesthouse itself is on the 3rd floor of the building. I only stayed there for a night and from my short experience, it was a good place to stay; great value for money. The lady who runs the place was nice. I arrived early than the check-in period and she was kind enough to store my bags inside the guesthouse so that I can explore Daegu a bit. Breakfast was also served on time and was lovely. I also had the chance to use her foot massage, which was really good since my feet were hammered from all the exploring I did around Daegu. Location wise, in general, the guesthouse is really close to a lot of shops, restaurants, bus stops and the subway station. There's a lot going on in the area to keep you busy. I would recommend this guesthouse to any ladies who are planning to visit Daegu and are looking for a no-frill, cheap place to stay.

I had a delightful stay at the Mama Guesthouse. The house is in a quiet neighborhood; the room, although a little tightly-packed with beds, was well-kept; and the hostess was very sweet. She speaks only a little English, but if she needs to she pulls out her smart phone and uses a translator. The bathroom facilities are adequate, though I couldn’t figure out how to work the shower. (There’s only a faucet on the floor with a shower nozzle attached; without the shower I sort of crouched down to rinse my hair under the water.) Most of all, I was pleasantly surprised by the full breakfast: toast, eggs, coffee, a hot dog, part of an apple, and a glass of milk. For an overnight stay like the one I had, it was perfect. My only complaint is that the information about the guest house listed on Agoda is completely false. The map makes it look as though this guesthouse is located near the Jungangno station on the red line. In reality, the Mama Guesthouse is about a ten-minute walk from the Myeongdeok station, which is one station south of Banwoldang on the red line. Get out at exit 2 and stay on the left-hand side of the street heading straight (East) from the exit. You’ll be following the route of the blue line (currently under construction). You’ll reach a large intersection. Keep going straight on the side of the road where you were. At this point, you’ll pass a station on the blue line. At the end of this block, on the side of the road where you are walking, is a church. Immediately BEFORE that church is a small alley. The Mama Guesthouse is down that alley, marked with a small yellow sign. Ring the doorbell at the gate. There will be a bus stop right just past this alley, next to the church. The stop is called Daebong Cheonju Church (대봉천주교회). It looks like buses 400, 402, 509, 704, and 730 all ride to this stop. When the blue train line is finished, the Mama Guesthouse will be a two-minute walk away from one of these blue line stations.

In Dec 2016, I have stayed at Onna for 5 nights that was definitely a great deal!!! :))) I traveled alone and came from Hong Kong. I have been Korea for 4 times. I stayed and experienced almost 10 guesthouses in Korea before and I highly recommend Onna for anyone who travels in Daegu, no matter how long you stay, it's absolutely your choice! The location is 15 mins walking from Jungangro Station, 25 mins walking from Daegu Station, 25 mins walking from Dongseongro there are many stores selling fashion items, coffee shops and restaurants. There are very crowded during weekends and you can see the nightlife of Korean. It's very convenient. The landlord of the guesthouse is nice and helpful. The environment and equipment are very clean! They provide breakfast; you can cook by yourself, but since my schedule was too tight and kept rushing I couldn’t enjoy the breakfast. It’s very important to have hot water during shower and it was good with that! I wasn’t disappointed and felt satisfied with my stay.

Check-in was fast and easy. My deluxe room was clean and spacious. My room had a jacuzzi, and in the welcome bag, there was a bubble bath packet that I used in the jacuzzi. There was water, coffee, and juice in the mini-fridge. I read reviews complaining about noise, but I didn’t hear anything despite going to bed at 2am. I could hear footsteps in the hallway, but after I closed the inner door, I couldn’t hear any noises from outside. In the morning, I walked to Dongdaegu Station after checking out. It’s a 20-minute walk, but it’s a very straight walk. You don’t have to turn left or right the entire way. I had a rolling suitcase and duffel bag, and had no problems getting to the station. I would definitely stay here again the next time I fly in to Daegu!

Nice place but uneasy to access, probably make more suggestion of routes for travelers who doesn't know about daegu city at all. :)

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful. The location is pretty central. The rooms were very clean and bright. Enjoyed the functional Jacuzzi unlike in other places. Everyday the room was cleaned up without interrupting us. Very friendly and helpful staff/owners. Made our stay very comfortable and memorable. Highly recommend it and will come back again here.

My stay was great at PP! Suki the manager is awesome and so friendly. I love the location and I love using PP to get away from my school which is located far from Daegu. Can't beat the price and the location.

It was a very pleasant stay with the hotel, the room was not that big but enough for one person to stay, shower was excellent, pillow was very comfortable. Room was clean, very quiet neighbours. Wonderful stay there

I've stayed in the hotel/hostel multiple times and am always satisfied. If I go to Dageu again, which will probably be never honestly cause the city is boring, I may stay here. It's one of the best places in Daegu honestly.

The Good: The best thing about this guesthouse is that it's located in the center of downtown. You can walk to many of the main attractions. Also, it's on the Daegu Tourist map. The host is very friendly also speaks very decent English and can help you with attractions. The Bad: This place is a bit hard to find and Taxi's won't go down it's street. It's also on the third floor of a building. Furthermore, there is no real privacy. The owner/host is rarely there. When we arrive we had to call her to let us in and check us in. The Ugly: This Guesthouse is very much like you are crashing at someone's house. The place was messy in some parts and dirty in others. The bathrooms are disgusting. I'd recommend you bring your own slippers and wet wipes if you are sensitive. We stayed on the second floor and there were no lights up the spiral staircase. I am a pretty relax and understanding guest. All I really need is a nice, clean, safe place to crash in a central location. Unfortunately, the unclean state of the guesthouse overshadows the positives.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in South Korea. Perfect location - situated right in shopping, restuarant area with subway a few minutes walk. Excellent facilities like cool Android phone chargers provided, lots of room, cool TV, etc. Highly recommended in Daegu. Pay bit more but very much worth it.

In Seoul we went to a guesthouse so it felt like heaven when we entered this hotel in Daegu. The rooms were really luxurious and had everything you needed: BIG TV, cozy beds, clean bathroom, airconditioning and even a PC! Daegu station is just 1 minute away from the hotel which is great because there isn't much around the hotel area. The staff of the hotel is really nice and helpful but doesn't speak english. it wasn't a problem for us since we arranged everything we wanted. I'm also really satisfied with the housekeeping of the hotel. They're really fast and the rooms are always clean. They changed the bed sheets daily which I was not used to at all! The reception staff even did our laundry for free. Overall: Great staff.

Just a normal motel and if u are travelling with kids, better not to stay there as there are alot of nightclubs around this area. The only best thing is cheap and near to KTX train station.

Located very conveniently near a metro stop, this typical Korean motel met all our needs - good shower, reasonable wifi, and a double/single bunk combination plus a pull-out bed to accommodate 3 of us. It was less seedy than some places and not too noisy. The gentleman who greeted us was friendly enough, though we didn't see any staff for the remaining 3 days of our stay!

Quite adequate for my 3 day stay in Daegu. Within walking distance of Dongdaegu Station. Within w alking distance of a number of bus services/ subway.

in the downtown of east daegu station/bus terminal and convenient to access transportation. surroundings are many restourants and karaoke shops (nore bang). they do not accept credit cards, need cash. that is a bit inconvenient for business trip.

The hotel is a 2min walk from Daegu station. The room is amazing. Beautiful decor, great hot tub, huge TV. Perfect for a couple. We will definitely visit again

The staff was excellent! The room was nice, clean, and spacious. We were in Daegu for a triathlon and the location was convenient for our needs. The hotel is a bit difficult to find as it is tucked away on a small back street. Great for the price!

A place to stay that thinks of all the smallest details. I was surprised to find both a hair dryer and straightener. Staff was nice.

It was one of the best hotels that I have ever been too. Despite the location is pretty far away from the subway (probably about 20 mins walk if you are walking fast enough as its about 2km away from the station). Also, it looks kinda of sleazy at night (probably because the surroundings are all motels and nightclubs). If you are heading back way late at night, its best that you take a cab because its really dark and quiet at night. Other than that, I would like to compliment the service to the Hotel personnel as we were rushing for the train to take the coach to Gyeongju, the hotel personnel was really kind and nice enough to offer us a ride in his car knowing that our huge traveller haversacks are quite heavy to walk from the hotel to the station, thus he offered to send us to the station! It was really unexpected and definitely worth the price to stay in this hotel. Thank you, Pink!

No frills hotel, although large HD TV and large bathtub. Certainly a Korean love motel, but not seedy or dirty. Very friendly staff speaking English. Large room. Large bathroom. 5-minute walk from the Novotel and Daegu city center. Very cheap price for this location. Excellent little market, coffee shop, and Izakaya restaurant just through the parking area of the giant apartment building across the street.

A Motel location is good, convenience store, mini market restaurant is just few walk step,few minute walk to bus station and Dongdaegu Station. Room is clean and spacious, my booking is Deluxe room, a massage chair is provided, is a very good and valuable motel, will stay here again when travel against to Daegu.

the size of the room is good. around the area must be one of the best for the price. i stayed with two more family members and the space of the room was good, in comparison with the hotel rooms in korean.
