Hotel Royal Hsinchu

"Very pleased and satisfied overall. Super value for money if you book during Agoda sale. Room is very big, housekeeping service is excellent and staff are friendly and accommodating. Only downside is the buffet breakfast, if the spread was more then the hotel would score a 10/10. Would strongly recommend travellers going to Hsinchu to try this hotel, no regrets. Definitely my choice again if I were to go to Hsinchu."

Sheraton Hsinchu Hotel

"The front desk staff is unfriendly and unprofessional. During the whole check-in process, the staff is not smile and it seems I bother her or if she is in the bad mood. Also, I need to remind her if there are any newspapers for reading next morning, as she did not mention it at all. It is really a disappointed check-in experience, if it is a real Five Star Hotel?! I cannot feel Five Star service at all. I guess if I encountered other front desk staff, I will have better impression for staying at Sheraton Hsinchu Hotel "

Forte Hotel Hsinchu
Hsinchu City,Hsinchu - View on map
"Overall it was very pleasant. For new visitors coming by train to Hsinchu, look for the Mirada building on your map or GPS. Confusingly too, the building has Standard Chartered letterings all over it. The hotel is situated in the Mirada building. We stood in front on the building for a full ten minutes before a friendly local pointed out the relatively small 'Forte Orange' sign amidst the Standard Chartered letterings. The laundry room is also situated in an isolated wing, so be careful just in case. The traffic in Hsinchu is pretty scary if you come from a law-abiding city. I am told that Hsinchu is considered 'country' by Taipei dwellers. Hsinchu vehicles, especially the motorbikes, pretty well go whenever they please and only slow down for assertive pedestrians. Watch the locals. Miraculously, we witnessed no accidents and left in one piece. Of course local traffic is not the fault of the hotel. Forte Orange Hsinchu in itself will take care of you well. And yes, this building is new and (very) different from the Forte Hsinchu situated up a few blocks previously."

More about Hsinchu

Hsinchu, a city dating back to nearly 400 years, is one of the oldest cities in Taiwan, and the oldest in the northern part of the country. Today, Hsinchu is most famous for its production of decorative glass, having stayed the center of this industry for over 40 years. The city is served by Taiwan’s efficient rail system, with express and local trains arriving at Hsinchu Train Station. Travelers to Hsinchu shouldn’t miss a visit to the Craft Glass Museum, especially considering how much connection this city has to the decorative glass industry. The museum is located right in the city center, easily accessible by car or public transportation, and there are several hotels in the city, ranging from modest guesthouses to large hotels.

Hsinchu’s Science Park is one of the major landmarks of the city, often serving as a convention or events center for major corporations. Given the city’s very small size, it’s surprising how many top-class luxury hotels this city has to offer. The city’s economy is relatively strong, and the median income is actually much higher than that of the capital city. So travelers looking for exclusive accommodations and exciting shopping will be sure to find it here.

There’s a lot more to see and do in Hsinchu, and the best way to discover what else this city has to offer in terms of attractions, landmarks, and hotels is by exploring the interactive map on this page.
