"Because located far from Huangshan city and from Huangshan scenic area, and was no shuttle bus, we had to take taxis with cash. When worrying about insufficient cash, Mr. Aaron, the staff kindly arranged the solution."

Crowne Plaza Huangshan Yucheng

"This Crowne Plaza hotel is the best international standards hotel you can get so far, if you plan to visit Huangshan and neighbouring attractions. My special view room comes with a view of the river, and is a good place to take sunset photos at the balcony. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I dined at the Chinese restaurant on G/F and the All-Day Dining Cafe on 3/F before. The former was more impressive, and prices were reasonable. I had Yangcheng Lake hairy crab there, and it was very tasty and fresh. Buffet breakfast was average. That said, I must say their Chinese porridge was a lot better than many 5-star international hotels I've been to. They also had fresh juice (instead of concentrated ones) Hence, it really depends on what you like for breakfast. The spa in the hotel is outsourced, hence I didn't try. What impressed me most was the concierge service provided by the hotel. They were professional in helping you plan the itinerary, and their drivers were all experienced and friendly. Just tell them what your interests are, and they will provide you with the best advice. There are some good Chinese restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, so no worries if you want to have sth different anytime of the day. This hotel, which recently opened last April, was fully occupied on Oct 1 and 2 Golden Week holiday break (They had 480+ rooms). You can imagine the popularity of this hotel. "

Huangshan Tiandu International Hotel

"The rooms are nice and comfortable. Bed and pillows comfortable, unlike some hotels in China where the beds are hard and pillows too soft. Hotel has a convenience store. You can also store your luggage with the hotel if you are going up to Mt Huangshan for one or two nights. We were only staying in this hotel after our descend from Mt Huangshan, but they let us store our luggage before our ascend. We checked out early, before the breakfast start time, and front desk arranged to pack our breakfast for us."

"The hotel has an independent yard with a big lotus water pond in front of it which separates us from the tourists. Very quiet and cozy place. The food is yummy at a very reasonable price. Staff is kind and very helpful. I would definitely take my whole family visiting them again! "

Huangshan Cheng Jin Hotel
Tangkou Zhen,Huangshan - View on map
"We stayed at this hotel twice. This is an excellent place to stay if you want to climb Huangshan mountain; it offers everything you need including a decent room to stay, great location and excellent staff members. It is located in 汤口 (Tangkou) which is the major tourist down on the base of the mountain (it is not on the mountain itself) and basically the gateway to Huangshan. The hotel is next to the major tourist bus stop (confusingly called 黄山风景区汽车站 (Huangshan scenic area bus station) opposed to something like 汤口站 (Tangkou bus station)), making it very easy to get to the hotel whether you come via long distance bus from a distant large city such as Shanghai/Hangzhou or from nearby places such as Huangshan North Train station or Tunxi. The same tourist bus stop also runs a regular (every 10 minutes during peak times) bus from Tangkou to the cable car entrance on Huangshan. The staff members are excellent in the amount of effort they put in to help us with planning our trip up the mountain. They gave us personalised itinerary, tourist map on how to climb the mountain, cable car closing times, recommended route, estimate time for walks and costs. They also sold us entrance tickets and cable car tickets so we didn't have to wait in line the day after. In addition to this, they arranged a long-distance bus from their hotel to Shanghai as well as look after our luggage when we climbed the mountain (we stayed a day on the actual mountain). I can't say if their English was good or not; it seemed they preferred to speak in Chinese (I can understand a little bit of it) Rooms were clean, fairly well contained and fairly quiet. Earplugs were provided which helped reduce the sound from adjacent noisy rooms. Bathroom, towels and bedsheets were clean. Interior looked a bit dated but nothing too tired. Bed was hard as other reviewers have noted; for me this was not a problem but it's similar to sleeping on thick carpet flooring. Complementary fruit (two apples) was provided as"

"A wonderful stay at. The great host fed us well with her wonderful cooking, both for dinner & breakfast (extra cost at reasonable rate). It was nice to dine in the small living room with the hosts during the cold night & to enjoy our hearty breakfast in the nice outdoor, once the sun came out in the morning. is so nicely done up, with warm & cosy decor & beautiful bedsheets. The family room is spacious & great value for money for a good night sleep. The toilets & bathrooms are nicely done up, even with heater for those cold days. Rooms has aircon/heater as well as electric blankets. Indeed, it is nice to enjoy the quietness in Hong Cun in the evenings & early mornings, when most of the tourists are gone. The night market just outside Hong Cun is interesting to browse along too. The view from the back hill was pretty too. Possibly one of the best accommodation at Hong Cun with an alluring character of its own."

More about Huangshan

Travelers seeking natural respite in China will find paradise in Huangshan. Translated to mean Yellow Mountains, this mountain range has made it onto the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is one of the country’s major tourist destinations.
