Traveling to South Korea? Find Jeonju-si hotels

Drove from Seoul to Gonju and arrive after 6 pm at Jeonju. We stayed 2 nights as we planned a whole day at Jeonju Hanok Village. It wasn't difficult to find the hostel using the GPS in our car. The double room is clean and spacious for 2 pax. Hostel has lift so we need not struggle with luggages. I love the brand of shampoo provided. No coffee in the room but at least there is hair dryer :). Eating in the room is not allowed. The staff were friendly and told us where to eat. The famous Waeng I yellow beans rice soup is just near by (500 m away). But we 're not into hang-over soup. haha! But there are many popular restaurants just within walking distance. The hostel has a cafe and we manage to get our Americano in the morning. It's a 5~7 mins walk to the Hanok Village from 1% hostel. Jeondong Catholic Church, Omokdae, Jaman Mural village, Pungnammun Gate and Nambu tradditional market are just nearby.

I've read great things about the manager of this guesthouse, although he wasn't there when I went. That's okay though. A nice lady welcomed me to tell me about rules and all. She also helped me with the directions to the Hanok Village, which is just about 20 mins away on foot. Clean bed and bathroom, which had all the necessities - body wash, shampoo, rinse, hairdryer. My favorite part was the common area. There were only a few guests so it was very peaceful. There are gameboards, books, computer, and even a nail polish set, among many other stuff that would keep you entertained. I got to do a lot of writing there so that was nice. And of course the breakfast. Unlimited toast, jam, nutella, fruits, cereals, coffee, tea. Simple but filling - definitely the best set of breakfast among all the guesthouses I got to stay in this trip. Honestly would love to go back to Jeonju just to stay a few days here. Very homey and definitely more than my money's worth :)

My wife and I spent about a week in Jeonju during the film festival and spent our last 2 nights here after our original guesthouse wanted to charge double the price for the same room... because it was a weekend. NOPE. Wish wed found this place first... GREAT LOCATION. 5min walk to town... about 10 to hanok village. 7-11 across the road and lots of restaurants nearby BRAND SPANKING NEW ROOMS! The guesthouse had only been open 2 weeks when we visited. they are doing it right. comfy bed,extra towels and fridge. FREE BREAKFAST! Tea,coffee,juice,bread,butter,jam and EGGS... plus all the stuff to cook them up right there. but most of all the guy who runs tue place was a legend. He agreed to drive us to the train station in the morning but we slept through the alarm... so upon changing our plans he drove us to the bus station instead. He saved the day! If you are in Jeonju... Hit this place up!

I went to Jeonju in March, 2017. Temperature there was about 0~13 degrees centigrade. I was satisfied with blue boats' infrastructure and sanitary. First, there is not only heating but also electric blanket under the quilt. There is rolling blind beside your bed. You can turn on/off light inside your bed. Next, floors were clean because residents are required to take off their shoes before enter. Moreover, you can lock your shoes outside in your key. And your suitcase can be locked under your bed. Here is about breakfast.Landlord offer breakfast which including hot coffee and sandwich. There is fridge and everyone can use it. In a word, I like here and if my friends want to go to Jeonju, I would like to recommend them to live here.

Strongly recommend this hostel in Jeonju. The rooms are spacious enough even with all four occupants having big luggage; there's separate bathrooms for men and women guests; the rooms were heated which is very much appreciated during the very cold early spring weather; the common room is clean and tidy. There's a cafe at the reception / first floor of the building where delicious breakfast is served (menu varies each day). And, owners are very nice and accommodating. Within walking distance from Jeonju Hanok Village; short bus / cab ride to and from bus stations (only 4000 won for cab ride).

I stayed at Jeonju JK Guesthouse (JK Youth Hostel) with last minute booking because I have unplanning stop over in Jeonju. Therefore, I booked online with the cheapest result since I'd only stay for 1 night and JK Guesthouse was the one. The hostel is located at big building on 4th floor for woman and elevator available. No locker and no socket on each bed, only at some point on floor. I came on Monday, so the guesthouse is very lonesome. Staying alone in 8beds dorm and I only saw 1 room with light on. The corridor lamps using movement sensor, so it's very dark and they will start blinking when you're walking. So, I felt little bit spooky. Many toilets are available and clean. But the shower room is 'public bathroom'. It means no divider, no curtain, no door, just big room with many shower. It was okay for me since I was alone but I can't imagine the awkwardness if its full of people. The staffs are very nice, they're very welcoming and trying to help you as much as they can. Walking distance to Jeonju Hanok Village (20 mins of slow walking) with just following the stream/river, so easy.

Star Maru is a great place to stay for a couple days while exploring Jeonju! The dorm I stayed in was really clean and it was nice that they included soap, shampoo, conditioner in the bathroom. There wasn't always someone at the reception but they always came right out as soon as I called. They even let me use a bike for the day which was great to ride along the river! Thanks for a great stay!

My stay was great! The owner is very nice, even if some of the decoration might be perceived as tacky, it made for a very welcoming hostel. The owner was the friendliest and most helpful in all my stay in South Korea. The hostel is so close to the hanok village too. Great - stay there! The only thing which wasn't a problem for me since I travelled with a liner but my friends didn't and there seemed to be no sheets or that they were not necessarily changed after each traveller. Nonetheless, I think considering the whole experience, this guesthouse is great! I didn't get to enjoy the roof top but I think it would have been great too.

Trust me, you can get all wonderful things here with a little money. the dorm. is so spacious and all facilities such as beds, cottons, a refrigerator and so on are ultra clean. the owner are extremely kind. They gave me a peach today. The location is just one block away from the main road. so, it’s not noisy and u can get all kinds of food nearby restaurant and can do shopping conveniently. Now, i am reading a boom in a cozy living room looks like a cafe under cool air from conditional and determined to stay one more day. lol

Carpe Diem is a small hostel, with two rooms and ten beds. I had an amazing experience here, in no small part due to the proprietor -- a young man named Boem who is a consummate host and never ceased to go out of his way to make my stay a memorable one. He took my hostelmates out to meals at several local hotspots, in addition to introducing us to the distinctly Jeonju way of drinking makgeolli and beer. A local of Jeonju, he delights in sharing his hometown with travelers. The building is an interesting hanok-style house that has been renovated and re-purposed as a hostel. The bathrooms are distinctly un-modern, but chalk it up to the experience of staying in a historical home. Overall: if you absolutely need to have top-shelf facilities and amenities, maybe consider a different hostel (hell, just spring for a hotel). Otherwise, don't hesitate to book Carpe Diem, especially if Boem is around.

Pros-Value for money, decent rooms for small family, friendly staff. Staff helped in ordering food to room. Cons-Smell of smoke in bathroom/toilet because of common exhaust from other spaces.

The Jeonju Tourist Hotel is perfectly located for seeing Nambu Market, the Hanok Village area, and Pugnam Gate with access to many shops and restaurants within walking distance. There is parking in front and behind the hotel but hard to get to and you could easily be blocked in. The stay would have been great except the staff was limited help. Breakfast is available but you need to request it a day in advance; the desk person when we checked in did not tell us this. Also, we had to turn on the coffee machine for coffee in the morning. When we turned on the coffee machine, the lady on duty appeared to be upset but did not say anything to us. Better staff service would make this a great hotel.

The guesthouse felt just like home. It was really clean and lots of facilities. The owner was extremely friendly. Even though we could not communicate in English (Her daughter was overseas), she tried her best and was super helpful. Even provided tips on where to go and what to eat around the area. She made me feel right at home and would definitely come back!

The location is perfect for Jeonju Film Festival. Also, all staff were nice & helpful, and room's clean. It's not actually far from Hanok village as well.

The guesthouse completely exceeded our expectations! It was so much more cosy and beautiful than the pictures depicted. I travelled with another female friend. The room was spacious for the both of us with big luggages and had everything we needed for a warm night’s stay, especially with the rainy weather that day. The guesthouse is located right in the Hanok Village, so you experience the village right from when you walk out of the guesthouse and can cover all the sightseeing spots without having to go out of your way. We received a warm welcome from Jin and he was helpful throughout our entire stay, recommending good eats and helping us to book a taxi to the train station as we were leaving Jeonju. Would definitely stay here again next time I’m back in Jeonju, and recommend my friends to stay here as well :)

Great little place! The location is fantastic - just at the periphery of the Hanok Village so while everything is a walk away (5 - 15 minutes), it's also far enough to grant you some peace and quiet away from the crowds. Bonus: Jeonju river is right outside the gate and makes for an amazing morning walk, when the air is crisp and the crowds are at bay. I had the single ondol - clean, cozy and the perfect size for a solo traveller with a medium size luggage. The whole Hanok is really lovely (cute little garden right outside the rooms) and makes just sitting around during dusk or a rainy day a relaxing affair. Mr. Kang was very warm and helpful, always offering to provide directions or share little bits of info about Jeonju. Guesthouses rarely enhance my travels but for this occasion, I have to say that my trip to Jeonju was definitely made more memorable by my stay at Happiness Full Hanok Guesthouse. Tip: The taxi's GPS brought me to Eunhaeng-ro but what you want is for the taxi to drop you off at Jeonjucheondong-ro as the guesthouse entrance is on Jeonjucheondong-ro. A special shout out to the quaint cafe Kongkkaji (when you exit the guesthouse onto Jeonjucheondongro, turn left and it's a few doors down) - try their yummy yam latte and have a coffee to go when you're starting out your morning walk!

We stayed here to visit the Jeonju Bibimbap Festival. The place is located in the Hanok Village area of Jeonju and everything is in great walking distance around you. Parking can be a bit tricky (no parking on actual premises), but there is a free parking lot down the street that the owner showed us. Lots of food places around you. We had the room with a private bathroom. There's good wi-fi. My kids enjoyed it too (especially the virtual reality place around the corner & the walking robots they could sit in and move in!) It is not fancy place, don't expect a 5-star establishment. But it was clean & service was friendly (limited English, but enough). If you want to experience a traditional hanok setting, this is a good place to go.

the guesthouse is inside the beautiful hanok village and convenience for visitors. since the days i travel were holidays in Korea, so everywere inside the village was crowded. would be more enjoyable if went on days other than holidays.

Really loved my stay in this guest house, was really close to the Hanok Village. It was a traditional hanok with the loveliest grandma and grandpa who despite speaking very little English, tried their best to communicate and made me feel very welcome. The place was also equipped with everything you would need for a great stay.

사장님 ㅜㅜㅜ 저는 시티예요! 기억해요? :( 늦게서 미안해요 ㅠ 저는 오늘도 전주와 하늘기와하고 사장님 더 보고싶어서 여기에 와요. 아무튼 저는 영어를 더 잘 쓰서 영어로 쓸 것이에요 ㅋㅋ My first trip to Jeonju was a memorable one and its all thanks to 사장밈 and her husband😢 There’s so many things I’m thankful for throughout my 3 days in Jeonju. We booked a 2 persons room but were surprised when she told us that she upgraded the room to a 4 persons room (for free!) so that we’ll be more comfortable staying there :( The room was huge and clean, the bedding were very comfortable, the heater works perfectly and the toilet is very clean! (The toilet bowl has a bidet!!! +100points) She also prepared breakfast for us and washed our dishes (her husband too) even when we told her that we could wash them ourselves😭 She really took great care of my sister and I, whom are first timers in Jeonju by recommending us places to go, hanbok renting shop and food to eat. She would made sure that we were comfortable by asking us if the heater is working. She even drove me to the dryer shop across the street as her dryer takes some time to work due to the cold weather😢 When we had to leave the place, she was really worried about our luggages because it was really heavy but we told her we’ll be fine hahaha. Anyway, she’s really really kind, bubbly and friendly and reminds me of our mum😢 I would DEFINITELY come back and stay here again when I visit Jeonju next time. I would also recommend my friends to stay here if they were to come to Jeonju!!! Thank you for everything 사장님. 보고싶어요 ㅠㅠㅠ

This hanok guesthouse is located in the Jeonju Hanok Village. Just tell your taxi driver to bring you to Yangsajae school. The owners/staff are really hospitable. They make sure that you got everything you need. At 8:30 pm, almost all of the restaurants in Jeonju Hanok Village are closed but the staff joined us in looking for other places to eat. Really giving their best to their clients.

it is absolutely a good-to-stay hotel in jeonju! really no regret after trying their warm guesting manner! with delicious breakfast, comfortable, clean and safe room! with best location which takes us only five minutes walk to both suburban and express bus terminals! of course the bus stops are just nearby too reaching nearly most attractions in jeonju! however the price is really at a good rate! no excuses not giving all top stars to arirang!

Very pleasant experience to stay in a traditional Bukyungdang Hanok Guesthouse. Lady Owner of the place is very helpful to my family stay with them. When its raining in the morning, she even offered a free ride to train station for us to catch train from Jeonju to Yeosu. She even recommend a nearby place, Mt. Maisan to us to go as our itinerary in Jeonju is abit long, 3 night in Jeonju but end up not going as it is raining that day. I will recommend this hanok guesthouse for those who want to enjoy a traditional hanok stay.

This hanok was a great experience for us. It was clean, located right at the heart of the Jeonju hanok village. The host is a friendly couple. Although they couldnt really speak English, we tried our best to understand each other. Breakfast consist of black coffee, fruits and some traditional rice cake, which was served at the doorstop. The lady brought us to find a shop to rent our Hanbok (traditional costume) and told the shopkeeper to give us a good price. If you are coming from the bus terminal, i suggest you cab in. It cost us around 5000 Won. I highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Jeonju!

Value for money: One of the cheapest you can find in Jeon-ju. Really worth it! There's Free Toast and Coffee and some fruits you can enjoy for breakfast FOR FREE! and don't forget about the free unlimited Korean Ice Cream! ;) Location: Along the residential area not in the main street, not-so-known by taxi drivers but your landmark is Jeonju National University of Education. It is just across it, look for the cute green wooden sign. The guesthouse is also near the Pavilion and Nambu Market which is good! :) Cleanliness: Standard Korean Cleanliness. Super Clean you can even lie down on the floor! :) Staff: Thank you thank you to the kind owner who did his best to explain where to go, where to eat and what we can do in Jeonju. Perfect for Travellers like us who don't have an itinerary prepared! Facilities: Basic Amenities but all were perfect for our needs.

This would be my first Hanok experience in the city of Jeonju that I love the most. This place is not hard to find, plus the people of Jeonju are extremely helpful! Located just on the side of Jeonju Hanok Village, Saekdong Jeogori was one beautiful awesome Hanok! Those two Imos (landladies) were just so nice and make sure that we got as warm and comfortable as they can. The room fits for two persons just nicely, warm and clean (beautiful and cute as well). They got restroom for each room. Aaaannddd... they have a hanbok rental as well! You can rent a hanbok to go around the Hanok Village for a great price! Would definitely come back here next time!

Mystay is only 2-minute away from Hanok Village and is surrounded with good restaurants and shops. Our room was very clean and the owner made sure that it is cleaned everyday. He provided us clean towels daily, however they are small ones. He even left us candies and cute goodies on our tv rack making sure that we felt welcome and accomodated. I only met the owner once during our check in but never had the chance to meet him again or his wife even after we left. Nevertheless, he provided us good information on how to travel from Jeonju to Jeju Island via Mokpo-Haena Port via Kakao and he never stopped messaging us until we have reached our destination. He even took the time to call the information hotline for the Mokpo port and made reservations for us while we were in transit. The owner spoke good English and he provided us everything that we needed. I will make sure I stay at Mystay on my next visit to Jeonju. It was the best guesthouse experience indeed.

i traveled to jeonju on my own during the summer as a side trip out of seoul. since my korean is limited to hello/goodbye/thank you, i was quite horrified to realize that only 1-2 people speak english in jeonju. it took forever to figure out where i needed to go (make sure your directions are in korean--not english), but once i got there, it was amazing. as a young female traveling alone, i wasn't sure how comfortable i would feel here (since i chose the hotel for its cheap price), but i was delighted to find the place charming, safe, and clean. the room had everything i would have expected from a far more expensive hotel (indeed was nicer than the rooms i've gotten elsewhere in korea), but it was nice, clean, and well-maintained. the owner spoke english and was incredibly kind enough to give me directions and store my stuff when i got there early. they brought me breakfast in my room, and made sure i had everything when i left. the breakfast to my delight had eggs and toast--an amazingly westernish breakfast for a korean hotel. this made me very happy! i was delighted that i stayed here, and i would definitely come here again!! as a side note...it is hard to find this hotel since it is on a side street kind of stuck in the middle of what looks like nowhere. however, it's actually only about 5 minutes from the mainway. just know that it may be a little hard to locate--take a taxi!

We booked a double room but when we arrived there where only twin rooms available, as a result of that we got upgraded to a really big twin room with one double bed and one single bed, proble solved! We planned to stay here for five nights, but wanted to go to Busan a day earlier. The lady of the hotel didn't speak any english but she had a translate service by phone which was very handy. After a short call with the translater everything was taken care of and we got our last night refunded. Very helpful and friendly! Though a bit far from Jeonju city center it was certainly value for money.
