The lobby is spectacular. The restaurant also has a great view of the bay. It is near the Earthquake Institute which is a must see in Kobe. The staff is very friendly and professional. The Bell Captain who assisted us was very fluent in English. They also recommended one of the best Kobe Beef restaurants in Japan which I thoroughly enjoyed. Hotel Okura has lots of amenities that includes an indoor pool and sauna. However, you have to pay for them separately. Their shuttle service going to Sannomiya is of course free. Aside from the price, this is an excellent hotel to stay in.

We stay only one night in Kobe and this station is directly across from the local JR station, not Shin-Kobe station. If you arrive at Shin-Kobe station you take another JR Line to this one. After traveling for two weeks in Japan, this hotel ended up being one of our most comfortable stays. The bed is very comfortable and the hotel provides a hairdryer, razor, shampoo, conditioner, etc. A great place to reset and very clean.

The hotel itself is sited right next to the water. 5 minute walk to the Mosaic Plaza and 1 minute walk to the city look bus stop 1. I have to say the location couldn't be better. We booked for a deluxe King room and the moment we stepped into the room was amazed. The floor to ceiling window looked out to Kobe tower, the pier, the sea and the Mosaic Plaza. The room is huge and there's a small Japanese room with tatami inside the big room also. The best part is the bathroom with a huge round Jacuzzi with Kobe tower view through the window. The room also offers a large selections of amenities includes face masks, bubble bath powder, bath salt, hand and foot moisturising socks and gloves and etc... It's our anniversary trip and the hotel prepared special sweets and fruity cocktail in our room. The breakfast was the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel. It's a huge set course with fruit juice, soup, salad, yogurt, 8 types of bread, your selection of egg, sausage and tea or coffee. Everything was delicious and they even packed the bread we couldn't finish for us to take away! Strongly recommend everyone to book the hotel with breakfast, totally worth it! I totally enjoyed every minute inside the hotel. The best in Kobe.

Brand new hotel in Kobe. Rooms were spacious, breakfast buffet was varied daily & delicious! Location was excellent & close to shopping areas. Transportation was right across the street from the hotel. Soaking in their onsen after a day of shopping was great too!

I really enjoyed my stay for about a week, during which I tried two restaurants and the pool almost every day. Although I had imagined the comfy room from other reviews, the two restaurants on the 3rd floor(the same level as the lobby) were a great surprise being far above my expectation since I happened to use them to avoid a bus trip to Sannomiya. Also, the pool was refreshing, having nice sun deck and offering the views of both Harbour Land and the Ocean. The good thing is it is not so crowded(at least in the evening towards its close). I would definitely come back at the next chance I visit Kobe!! The only drawback I can think of is the inconvenience of the bus route. I hope there will be a bus route that connects the three Oriental Hotels in Kobe...All in all, I sincerely recommend this hotel.

This is my first time to kobe and am so glad that I had chosen this Hotel, will definitely recommend this Hotel to everyone. It's one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed, great onsens especially the one on the second floor, very thoughtful amenities for elderly and disables e.g. benches in lifts and even push trolleys for guests to carry food at buffets. Sumptious breakfast and dinner were served plus beautiful view of the Harbour perfected my holiday. I will switch base from Osaka to Kobe for my next visit to Kansai.

The hotel location is amazing you are two blocks from Sannomiya and just beside a Daiso store and supermarket. You can go to any place in Japan and go back without worry! Sannomiya is a must stop station! The hotel has a very good structure and security, the breakfast is the best of Kobe! You have a mix of Japanese and American breakfast so you will have no problem to eat! Every employee was very nice and do the best to help us. A must go Hotel!

We were there a bit early because we didn't know that the check in time in Japan is 15:00. So, after a waiting, the staffs came to apologised and led us to the room. They always practiced their Japanese gesture and manner to us, very polite. My fiancé got some souvenirs and a ride to the elevator. The room was quite big, 10 Tatami mats with the living room, toilet, bathtub, balcony and more!! The private Onsen can be booked for 45 mins/time, very nice scene of the forest hill when you're in Onsen. The hotel location can be walk from the Arima Onsen station. Along the way up hill are some diners. However, you can use the hotel transportation. During our stay, we got a lot of problems (555), eg. our suitcase was lock and cannot be open, asking the way to Himeji Castle by using Kansai Through Pass, asking them to help on our brand new camera bought in Kobe because all the menu was in Japanese. Every staffs were really nice and helpful in any troubles. Great experience. Really love this place especially the lovely staffs. TRULY RECOMMENDED. Ohh! You also can enjoy making of Moji every morning at 08:30, tasty!!

Hotel Monte Hermana Amalie is Really the best hotel So far I travel in Japan. And surprisely is really cheap as well. The room is quite big, with comfortable bed. Everything is clean and neat. Very good location. Just beside the Ikuta temple(生田神社), easy to find. 8-10 mins walking from Hansin and JR sanmiya station. 3 mins walking from Metro sannomiya station. It's walking distance to sannomiya shopping street , toumon shopping streets etc. around has many restaurants, bars. I will definitely recommend you to stay here. And I will definitely come back to stay here if I have chance to come to Kobe again!

10 mins walk from JR Kobe with streets of izakaya (Japanese cafe) that open till late. Kobe Station has a small mall and also few JR stops to Sannomiya - shopping district with cheap street shopping or malls like Daimaru, Oioi (highly recommended for ladies), Loft (check out the cosmetics here it's HUGE and empty so you can take your time to try all makeup. Unlike the cosmetic store outside Kobe Station is small and squeezy with people). Hotel provides tooth brush, tooth paste, mitten. Big for 1 pax, squeezy for 2. Dryer is bigger than usual hotels' - which means it dries better. Clean room. Big toilet and shower room. Helpful staff booked my snowboard lesson. All staff speak English.

I reserved two 2 person rooms with private hot spring in room (open air bath) with kaiseki meal for one night. They served the 4 of us in one of the rooms so we could enjoy the meal together. Food had many courses and was very delicious, we were full by the end of our meal. We had a massage chair that felt so nice. After dinner, they set up our beds on the tatami mats. The hot spring was amazing. It could fit at least 2 people in the hot spring. We all got to use the hot spring 4 times: before dinner, after dinner. The next morning before breakfast and after breakfast (right before checking out). This was a lovely experience and I would come back if I had the chance. NOTE: Maximize the use of your private hot spring and come right when you are able to check in, at 3pm. We were touring Kobe and didn’t get to the hotel until close to 6pm, right before dinner. It is quite a trek to get to Arima from Kyoto/Kobe, many bus transfers and a taxi ride from the station to the hotel.

Great stay in the regular room which always features two queensize beds, bathtub and normally fine views (I find cityview most interesting, but opinions differ). With a large sofa and very nice colonial-asian furnishings, it is arguably the best hotel in Kobe for busiess or pleasure (provided you do not need a pool). The water terrace is great for Tapas and Beer, when open, and the check-in, restaurants and bar on 17th floor are awesome. I come to Kobe often and have tried 10 hotels here. This one is my favorite. One note: Stayed last night at Exec. level as normal rooms were sold out. This was a rip-off, noting that room is the same, apart from Nespresso machine and old iPhone charger-speaker.

Basically, this is a top tier hotel. No complaints at all. Totally worth the money for any occasion. We were able to book a hotel room during the Japanese Golden Week holiday and it worked out no problem. The one little draw back is that you have to be aware of the tram that connects mainland Kobe with the island the Portopia sits on. If you are in Kobe to party and miss the last train, you are in for quite the walk or a cab ride that will cost a few thousand yen. Nothing major, but slightly annoying, so I knock it down one star. Incidentally, road runners pack your shoes because running around the island is great! Flat, but you can really run for quite a bit. Good for stretching the legs and keeping in shape. Shoppers, you are around the corner from IKEA! Nuff said.

We booked a room with an open air and half board included. The room was huge and clean, with 2 sink area and a shower room that has a bathtub. Open air Hot spring tub was big enough for 2. There's privacy but no scenery to enjoy. Food was tasty and we were served Kobe beef. Customer service can be better, staff did not seem to be as smiley and friendly as what we were used to when traveling in Japan. Hotel is well located, next to the tourist centre and near the bus stop where the bus stops in arima onsen. Overall, a good experience but a little pricey.

New Hotel with good service. The room has nice interier , big flat TV and very comfy bed. The location is very good, next to Sannomiya bus station and JR line. Easy to go back to Osaka or Kyoto by JR line. Or take a Express bus to Arima onsen for 780 yen with 30 mins ride, very fast. If you’re coming from Shin-Kobe station with Shinkansen train, you need to use local subway line to Sannomiya station(local subway line..not JR) and that station is far walk to the hotel. Recommend to take bus from Shin-Kobe station to Sannomiya station, then you only walk 100 meters to the hotel. From the hotel you can walk via shopping street to China town and the Bay area and come back via Kobe JR station to Sannomiya station.

Tosen Goshobo is the 2nd hotel I lived when I was at Yuma hot spring. The first one was a 5 star hotel (I won't mention the name in here) but I like Tosen Goshobo more than the other one and I would definitely recommend to everyone. Tosen Goshobo is a japanese style hotel that everything was beyond what I expected. Especially for the 105 mins Aroma therapy massage, the hotel sent a driver taking us to the massage shop which is located at the next street, and took us back when we finished. I am a picky person and I do like to try to have a massage in different hotel in Japan, I must say this was the best! 10/10! I don't have to say much about the room, you would like it anyway! The outdoor hot spring spa was a surprise too, men and women spa is separated by a half metre wall, you can easily talk to your partner and see each other if you want to... Anyway, this is THE hotel you should pick, if you can offer that price. (I went on a saturday, so the price is quite dear)

I came to Kobe for a concert and booked 2 nights at the hotel. The location is so close to the concert venue (Kobe Kokusai Hall). Barely walk for 5 mins and already reach the venue. The location also quite near for some tourist attractions such as Kobe Port and Meriken Park. It also walking distance to Tor Road (where we had Kobe Beed there). The room also spacious and they have money changer machine at the lobby. Will stay here next time i go to Kobe

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Areaone Kobe, its location is very tourist friendly since its walking distance to many establishments and train station. The staff are very helpful and the food are delicious. Though the room area is small is not a big factor since it's very clean and cozy. We will surely book this hotel again when we visit Kobe.

Services:Good service with kindness staffs. Especially for the Chinese guy who helped us with full of patience. Facilities:In spite of the facilities of the hotel was really old but it was a good experience during the stay.It was clean and traditional.but need to be maintain if possible. Location:we went Arima Onsen from KOBE，you have to go Kobe Sannomiya Station take a bus which go to Arima Onsen. Remember to call hotel arrange the pick up service otherwise with the heavy luggages was not convenient. Food：How big meal it is! It was truly traditional local food but for foreigners should be according yourself. Spa:Public spa was good but too simple.

As I booked hotels quite late, most Kobe hotels were full though I originally wanted to book a hotel near Sanomiya. But it turned out to be a good experience since the location is excellent, just minutes away from JR Kobe station by passing through the underground mail. The nearby is very quiet with walking distance to Harborland and Anpanman Museum. However I’ll still recommend to stay at Sanomiya if having many luggage since Sanomiya is the traffic hub.

Hotel environment is really relaxing and reflects the tradition Japanese architecture, people are really welcoming. We were greeted by staff members in front of the hotel, then was brought to the cottage by a golf cart and someone was waiting for us there too! The cottage is like a house in the middle of Switzerland but Japan of course, so cute and private, very suitable for a honeymoon and families. The room has a small living room, a huge bathtub and even a stove in case you would like to do some cooking yourself! The food at the restaurant are well thought out and presented really nicely, whether it is the Jamon Serrano with fig as a starter or the mango ice cream dessert, each dish was served really nicely and taste great! Breakfast choices was okay, there are multiple juice options and also hot soup, would prefer if they also provide rice for breakfast. Overall the hotel is a must recommend! This was a great place to stay. While on Rokko Island in Kobe we visited Kobe, Osaka, Kyoto and Nara. Kobe sites were 20 minutes away, Universal Studios were 25 minutes away. Kyoto and Nara were each 1 hour and 15 minutes away. The only minor glitch that we experienced was intermittent internet services. However, we never contacted the hotel to resolve, so I can't "complain".

The hotel is right at the center of Sannomiya, close to everything. The staff were friendly and helpful. The checked-in and out processes were swift and efficient. The room was clean and the amenities complete. However the room was a bit small (common in Japan hotels) with no cupboards for clothes nor luggages, just some hangers. The bed was a bit too soft and short for my size (6 ft, 250lbs). All in all, excellent for short stays ..!

I traveled to Kobe for important meetings. It was a five days trip, and I've asked for a quiet room few weeks advanced. The room was perfect. As quiet as I needed. I barely heard sounds from the next door. The space and facilities are also better than the usual business hotel in Japan. I got enough space to open my luggage and the bath tub can even allow me to lie all in it. Shower pressure is strong enough which provided me a real relief after a hard day at work. Although its location is a bit away from the main station like Sannomiya. However, bus 2, 7, 90, 92 lead to almost everywhere. Also, the hotel locates right next to the Port Liner that leads to my airport( Kobe Airport) which was just perfect for me.

I really liked this hotel as the staff are very courteous and kind. Although the staff have limited English capabilities, they still try to understand what you are trying to convey and help in the best way possible. I only followed Google maps in locating hotel by foot and it was a very easy find though a bit far coming from Sannomiya station. The buffet breakfast offered a lot of varieties and it was the best breakfast I had in my entire stay in Japan. Also notable is the room size, it was big enough for a typical size in Japan! From my window I got an excellent view of both the mountains and the port! Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Kobe.

My wife wanted to stay here because the breakfast is supposedly the best in Japan. The hotel is decent, kind of old in my opinion but if you like the Victorian style you will definitely like this place. The location is not the best but still within 7-10 mins walk from the station. The breakfast is good-great not sure about the best but it's different. They serve more french dishes than Japanese. Fairly good value would probably stay here again if we visit Kobe again.

Room was decent size for the price and very clean. Kettle is horribly slow, but they provided free tea and coffee, mugs and bar fridge. Staff were friendly, but didn't speak good English and we stored our bags no problem. WIFI in room was excellent. JR Hyogo station has some cheap restaurants, a supermarket and good access to Sannomiya and Kobe since it is on the main JR line. Would definitely recommend it.

My parents never takes onsen so it is difficult for them to stay here since they prefer private bathroom, but they have private bathroom upon request (so make sure you request them to the staff). The onsen, for me, is a killer. It is really relaxing and awesome after a long travel. The bathroom and facilities is really clean, and the welcome reception is incredible. The view of the Kobe bay is really nice and the traditional room makes me feels like I have reached Japan. The staff is very friendly, and very beautiful too! Totally worth it!
