Recommended restaurant Public Restaurant at Kota Tinggi - big river prawn - fried "nan ru" meat - fish
It is a simple town with affordable food and some shopping. Go for a firefly cruise during as the night falls, it is a must do in kota tinggi.
Kota Tinggi brings us memories back to the 70s. The places of interest that I am aware of is the Waterfalls, Fire Fly Tour and RainForest.
You can do some sports activities like swimming and trekking there. There are reasonably priced hawker centers and restaurants in the town. You can also do some shopping in the supermarkets there.
Do not expect shopping, more like a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Good way to escape from phone or internet, lol.
Small quiet town, nothing to shop, you can find Mcdonalds in the town and a small shopping centre. Unlike JB, so do not expect to shop.
1) small town with mix business of shopping, car repair, industry, food. 2) not recommended to stay longer than a few day am unless there for other purposes, eg business or visiting relatives, 3) nothing much too exciting to boost nor talk abt, average neighbourhood type of town, unlike KL, metropolis type.
Overall, 5.5/10 if staying over and stopping by, but definitely not recommended for anything longer than 3 days.
It has a small town appeal. Everything is not too far from wherever you are. There is no need to travel far, and you probably wouldn't get lost.
It's a simple life really. And lots of people like that in a holiday, if you are not into the theme parks/spas thing. If you have a day or two to spare, then just walk around town. It's nice. But if you want lots of entertainment/night life/shopping, then you are at the wrong place!
Kota tinggi waterfalls resort is a good choice for back to nature experience. Its located within walking distance to the waterfalls.
The room is air-conditioned, has a fridge and water heater. Do not leave any sweet stuffs around in the room because they will attract the ants. Wanted to watch fireflies but the boat services are only available on sat, sun and public holidays night. Kinda disappointed. Overall, its a good choice for short getaway trip.
Quiet, nothing much on the activity except shopping and firefly tour. Taxi are very expansive, hotel should have bus transport information for the foreigners.
Suitable for business travel only.
The town has been spoilt by poor town planning and idiotic civic monuments, which the locals and travellers would never use or need .
Street furniture selected by a colour blind planner . The river is just a blue meandering line on a planners map . It has great unused potential .
A very nife place with a cool refreshing waterfall, friendly people and couple of historical places to visit.
The main attraction is the waterfalls. The family had a good time there but got to be careful if you have younger children.
Older children will enjoy the slides. The town is really quiet but people are friendly. Its a rustic place so set your expectations low and you'll enjoy it more. Food is decent but we chanced upon quite a nice "zhe char" store at a food center for lunch and "yong tau fu" for dinner. Both are near Mayres Hotel.
