You will fully enjoy the northern area of India. Ladakh has its own culture and history which attract people.
Travel this area need at least 5days since the fist day need to be rest to avoid altitude sickness.
Leh is a hustle bustle town. It is hot and dusty and full of tooting car horns. But it is India and it is all part of the appeal.
There are lots of restaurants and shopping. Look a little closer and you will find the ambience of a beautiful religious culture. You will see the maroon robes of the monks and nuns walking the streets. The Gompa's are full of activity. Old and young alike saying prays, walking the kora clockwise with their pray wheels reciting mantras. It is a beautiful Buddhist culture. If trekking, white water rafting or hiring a motorbike to see this wonderful land of Ladakh, then this can be organised from Leh. If you seeking the cultural aspects of Ladakh; monasteries, gompas, you won't be disappointed. The scenery when you get out and about is simply stunning. I would recommend anyone to visit this amazing place of ancient landscapes.
Leh is a tourist trap and in the streets you can't walk in peace and quiet for all the shopkeepers calling to you all the time.
Take a couple of days of rest to get acclimatized before doing drastic activities or change location.
The roads around Ladakh are generally in bad shape, so expect to ride on bumpy roads.
We had memorable, once in life time tour of Leh, Ldakh. It is a hard tour but very memorable & unique.
