It is highy recommended to drive up the west side of the Tamar Valley to the top at Greens Beach then return, visit the Beaconsfild Mine Museum, go back to Batman Bridge and across to the East and north to Low Head which has a wealth of history.
Then back to Launceston for a lovey dinner!
A lovely place and very quiet but everything closes down over the weekend. There was no banks open, we struggled to find anywhere to eat on the Sunday night and there was not much more choice on the Saturday.
Relax, relax, relax. Tasmania will drain all your stress away. Heaps to see; ancient and new. Base here and day trip to Tamar area ;lavender farm /Wollmers/Ben Loman/ Back roads/ winerys
Launceston is a quiet laidback city, great for relaxation. Most of the activities and sightseeing is located outside of the city.
