THE CELECTON Matsumoto
Matsumoto,Matsumoto - View on map
"Excellent location and would definitely stay here again. The castle, timepiece museum, school museum, Aeon Mall, and Bang Bang Pizza are all within a kilometer or less from the hotel. Each individual room DOES have its own bathtub / shower / toilet / sink. It is not share as the ad stated. Maybe this shared bathroom was in reference to what might be an onsen on the first floor but we didn't check it out. TV, small frig, and small coffee pot in room. No microwave in room. Parking is about 100m from the front door. It's not spacious but we are out sightseeing and only use the hotel for sleep so it works for us. Beds were comfortable. Staff is extremely polite. They understand and speak enough english to get you checked in. . "

"The hotel is located just a minute walk from the Matsumoto station. Matsumoto castle is also about 15-20 minute walk away. Times car Plus station is right next door. The staff were very polite and helpful. As we reached early and departed late, they offered to keep our luggage in safe custody. All questions were answered well. Some of the staff could speak good english. Our room was on the 8 th Floor with some vending machines. The room was clean, stocked with amenities and just big enough for a couple of persons. We booked early and got a good deal."

"If you are looking for some place nicer that just a business hotel in Matsumoto station area, this hotel could be a good option for you. I like to find out the representative hotel in any area which is not for budget traveler but providing nice service and facilities and nice breakfast at fancy restaurant. The hotel was 5 minutes walk from the station which is comparably far than other business hotels near the station, but still nice location and big and fancy facilities. They are providing breakfast at the restaurant on 1st floor in February 2019, but they main restaurant on 14th floor is going to be done its renovation and reopen from March. So it should be much nicer to have good breakfast includes some local foods with nicer view of Matsumoto."

"We were so thrilled to arrive to this little gem. Sure, we’ve been to hipper and more upscale hotels, but this hotel is perfectly located, has the most wonderful staff, fresh, clean and functional rooms and everything just feels right. At this price range in Japan, it’s 10/10!"

"We took bus from Nagoya to Matsumoto, the hotel is just less than a min away from the terminal. And less than 3 mins away from the train station. Room is small, which is very typical japan hotel room size. Best restaurant view, Felt so good to start your day with a breakfast staring at the snow cap mountainssssss. "

Traveler impressions of Matsumoto

More about Matsumoto

Matsumoto is located in the Nagano Prefecture and is most famous for having one of Japan’s most beautiful original castles. It’s also an excellent base for those looking to explore the Japanese Alps. A local airport takes commercial flights, but much like most of Japan’s cities, Matsumoto is well-connected to the train line and can be reached from Tokyo in about three hours.

For travelers to this city, Matsumoto Castle is quite the centerpiece of attractions. At 400 years old, the castle has grabbed a rank as one of the top three in Japan. On-site is a museum providing exploration of the city’s history. Another fascinating museum worth checking out would be the Japan Ukiyo-e Museum – the largest museum of its kind in the world. Matsumoto offers more outside the city in the form of campsites and onsen. There is also the center of Japanese wasabi production to the east in the town of Hotaka. A hike to or from Misuzuko also makes for a great way to spend a day while taking in some beautiful landscapes.
