B2 Nakhon Si Thammarat Premier Hotel
Nakhon Si Thammarat City Center,Nakhon Si Thammarat - View on map
"This hotel was fine for a couple of nights. It's close to a mall and a few food stalls, but a bit too far to walk from the main temple. Ample parking available. And the rooms are clean. The bed was super hard but I've come to expect that of accommodation in a Thailand."

Aava Resort & Spa
Khanom,Nakhon Si Thammarat - View on map
"had a wonderful two night stay. although it is clear you are in thailand, this resort surpassed my expectations. we arrived on bicycles and one of is had a little mechanical hiccup. a driver was arranged to drive him 150km round trip instantly. the restaurant food was incredible, although they don't really understand the idea of a 'tasting menu' and treat it more like a 'set menu' it was incredibly delicious. the drinks are perhaps a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. there are alternate options within easy reach but as an overall experience it was the best resort i've seen for a lng time. interesting architecture, friendly staff, endless clean sand beach, no crowds, no drunks, no noise, great ambience. some little hiccups in the room perhaps, like ill fitting sink plug, but nothing to detract from a perfect stay. the wifi wasn't working very well in the room, but it did elsewhere!"

Sichon Cabana Beach Resort
Sichon,Nakhon Si Thammarat - View on map
"The Sichon Cabana is located in a local beach in Nakhon Si Thammarat. The beach is very far from the city, and has only some small hotels. No shops or local market is around there. Without a car, you cannot go anywhere for shopping. However, if your purpose is to relax in a beach, it is the best place. The foods in the restaurant of the Sichon Cabana were very tasty and very cheap. You can enjoy seafood and Thai foods. However, they sometimes served very slowly when they had too many customers. The room was very good, specious and clean. However, I was not able to use the Internet in my room often. I was able to use the Internet in the public area such as a restaurant though it was often slow. But it might be the problem in the local beach, not in the hotel. Their problem is that their staff cannot speak English at all except for the manager. Therefore, it was very difficult for me to explain when I needed some special requests. If their price were cheaper, I would visit them again."

Baancivilize Resort
Khanom,Nakhon Si Thammarat - View on map
"Khanom Beach in Nakhon Si Thammarat is one of my favourite destinations in the world - a stunning stretch of golden sand, warm seas and still not much development. Unfortunately Baan Civilize isn't on the best stretch of beach, is miles away from everything, and doesn't have its own facilities. So unless you have your own transport, a lunchtime bite to eat can be a long hike."

More about Nakhon Si Thammarat

Located in Southern Thailand, the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat is the capital of the province of the same name. One of Thailand's oldest cities, the city's origins date back to very ancient times and therefore aren’t quite clear, but it’s religious and historical significance can’t be ignored. The province is served by Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport, which hosts domestic flights from major cities such as Bangkok and Phuket, among others.

Nakhon Si Thammarat is home to Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan, a temple that holds a very high significance in the Buddhist religion, containing a fragment of the Buddha’s tooth relic.

Nakhon Si Thammarat was once a walled city, and while most of its ramparts are now gone, the northern gate and a portion of the wall still stand. The wall is just one reminder of the city's heritage; while the temple and its reclining Buddha statue are two more beautiful holdovers of old Siam.

The city is comprised of an Old Town – inside the gate – and a newer, more modern urban development with shops, schools, hotels and Walailak University, Thailand's largest university.

Outside town, the beaches of the province attract a steady flow of travelers. Up the coast from Nakhon Si Thammarat is the lazy fishing village of Sichon and its picturesque beaches, while even further north is the resort area of Khanom.
