"I was surprised to find out that I really liked Nay Pyi Taw, although it is an unusual city. Everything is very far from everything else, and for the most part you hardly see any people anywhere. The Park Royal Hotel, however, is a very nice place, super clean, great facilities and the nicest group of people working there. The pool, gym and sauna/steam area are all top notch, and the dining area for breakfast is very nice and they have a rather amazing assortment of food. I would definitely recommend the Park Royal Hotel to anyone going to Nay Pyi Taw."

"We spent two nights there, it’s a good budget option for Naypyidaw (which will be the most expensive portion of your trip in Myanmar, expect to pay more for everything) Pros - Nice breakfast buffet, water boiler in the room to avoid using plastic bottles, we could rent a scooter (4000k an hour, yes, it’s expensive yes), friendly staff. Helped arrange bus / taxi for onward travel. Cons - since the shower doesn’t have a way to air out the ceiling get moldy and smells strongly (rest of the shower is clean though). As excepted, the bathroom is outside the room, and it’s so bizarre. Location is really far from anything at all. (A few small shops and restaurants in walking distance to neighboring town). Overall, this place is the main budget option to stay in Nay Pyi Taw. Everything in Nay Pyi Taw is expensive, but accept that before coming here and you’ll enjoy your stay."

"Pros were a nice hotel with confidence services, responsive staff Cons were the restaurant. It food quality both buffet and of menu were mediocre. The Burmese menu was more fusion Chinese than authentic Myanmar food. I am originally by Myanmar and come to Myanmar often and want Myanmar food, not Chinese food. Overall a good experience at hotel. "Rooms were very big and nice - but note that the the configuration is King OR 2 singles, not King AND 2 singles, which resulted in us booking a room short (but Agoda was helpful). Rooms are very far from reception and breakfast, and the hotel is woefully understaffed. My father requires walking aid, called for hotel buggy 3 times over 30mins and each time staff said ok but none turned up, resulting in him having to struggle for 20mins to get to the breakfast on foot. Breakfast is ala carte, and takes a really long time. Between ordering and first dish was more than 40mins (despite there being no other guest), we gave up on the last dish after 1.5hrs waiting."

"The hotel is sprawling, and for the most part, you won't encounter many other guests at the pool, tennis court, lake-side walking path, or even in the hallways or main restaurant. Nay Pyi Taw itself doesn't have a lot to offer in terms of nearby restaurants, so the hotel restaurant is your main bet. I personally had a few hits and misses there. The spa, however, is a hidden gem, where, for instance, you can get a top-notch massage after a long day of meetings for $50. "

"However, only able to stay as it was heavily discounted. It was probably built and designed for upscale travellers. Sadly, the capital has an over supply of rooms and hotels seem hardpressed to fill their rooms. Overall, impressive hotel in terms of size, facilities and design. Modern comforts are cleverly incorporated while retaining Burmese traditional design elements. Personal preference to sleep in a room without any figurines or puppets facing the bed :)"
