Very mixed bag the town is not that special the lake is nice and the views are lovely the grand hotel is by far the best thing there.
It is a small & very nice hill station in Srilanka. The weather is in contrast to the hot weather in other parts of the country.
Any traveler who comes to Sri Lanka should go and visit NUWARA ELIYA. Most Awesome/Beautiful & Fabulous city in the world.
It had a few classic old buildings. Though that was offset by the hovels of the locals. It could be missed happily.
It's a beautiful city which is cool. If you like rain or cool climate, you'd love here. Basically you can cover the sight seeing in 2 - 3 days as there's not many places to see and most are quite near.
beautiful highlands, many tea plantations along the way, route up may be uncomfortable because it is winding and steep.
going to Macwoods tea company to see around tea factory & buy Srilanka local tea, nice place to going around, nice view of tea plant scenery.
Enjoy the drive up the mountain, the lovely weather, the friendly people, the trek to World's end, the views from the mountains and the clean and beautiful place.
It is almost the centre of Sri Lanka. It has many attractions if you are comming from Kandy, which is the most likely scenario.
I did not like this city at all, but it may be affected with bad accomodation och rainy weather. The tea gardens are nice to visit and there are some spectacular scenery around.
It's a really a great place for relaxing! You can get yourself a cup of hot Ceylon Tea and just chill for all the moments you want.
We really just stopped and had lunch and drove through. looked like a decent place to stay for a night or just a few hours of the day.
nuwara Elia is the must-place when you come to Sri-Lanka, it will make you feel relax and charge your energy.
Nice clean city with lakes and Beautiful natures. Tea gardens and water falls are very nice. The city looks like little England.
It's a pretty old world English style place in the tea country, the main attraction here is the circuit walk at Horton Plains National Park, taking in worlds end, little worlds end and a waterfall and nature in general, the worst part is you are encouraged to take a jeep costing 50US to get to the park entrance but a car can easily get there so this to me is an expense you don't need, if you take the train to Ella from Nuwara Eliya it goes through the park and you'll see amazing views any way, depends if you feel like a hike, and you may see a bit of wild life deer etc.
Clothing to keep you warm is a must, the town has some good places to eat. You can visit the golf course, botanical gardens, Gregory Lake, Ambewella Farm, Strawberry farms and many more picturesque places.
It was a great stay in Nuwara Eliya. We enjoyed a great morning walk around the lake and an excellent trekking in Horton Plains.
Nuwara Eliya is best to see the tea plants and estates. Best place to stay would be at the Heritance tea factory.
A nice place to enjoy cool weather (we live in Singapore!). Friendly people. 2 nights are ok to discover the area.
Very Beautiful City. City architecture was a plus point. This city was an olden typical English mini-city with the beautiful parks and greens.
Cold climate. We stayed here for the cold climate. Also very beautiful nature specially the lake is very nice.
Good to visit for a breath of cool air. Horton Plains is a nice place to walk with great views, and probably the only park where visitors are allowed to walk.
mountans, water falls, tea estates, lakes, cool and calm weather. nice people. A must see city in sri lanka.
Beautiful greenery and sightseeing very relax good have a break. Weather is cold and at night it's chilly.
We pass by the town to have lunch and walk around the city. The market is very interesting and local people are friendly.
However, a visit to Nurawa Eliya isn’t only about tea, it is also an forest park and art of architecture museum.
Anyone that says to stay for 2 days, don't bother. Had an awesome salad at grovenor hotel though, really fresh and tasty vedgies.
Really looks and feels like "Little England": architecture, climate and vegetation are SO british! Bring a warm sweater.
It's a place to escape the hot weather in the rest of the island during April. A nice place to relax and recuperate
If you like the peaceful and relaxation you should stay up the hill. Don't worry about lacking off social network, most hotels provides good signal strength wifi.
