Best hotels & accommodations in Okayama

This hotel is located just right across the Okayama JR Station, and the tram station is just right outside the hotel door. AEON Mall, Takashimaya and Don Quijote are all within 5-8 minutes of walking distance. Room was considered quite spacious given this is Japan. We were able to fit 2 large suitcases, opened, on the floor with more than enough walking space. The room...

We got a corner room with a sofa that could be turned into an extra bed. In general room was very nice with a small entrance area and with bathroom and toilet separate (great for family), but very close. There is a small space in front of bath/toilet which can be used for luggage etc. In general very very nice compared to price and the fact that this is a Japanese hote...

Not only the hotel was centrally located but also very easy access to all the sightseeing spots. Tram or bus station for the castle is right in front of the hotel and just 5 minutes walk to JR train Okayama central station to visit a famous historical Kurashiki city(only a few stations away). The big corner room was also very clean and comfy with good view as we really...

It was the second time I stayed in Areaone hotel but this one in Okayama was slightly dusty and run down, for that price with well facilities in place and opposite to Mega Aeon mall and Donki, what to complaint nonetheless! It was a little far away from the train station but we are boys so we are ok. We travelled from Yonago, so we had lots of clothes to wash. There wa...

Everything in the room is quite new. During booking, there’s only smoking room left. Requested for non-smoking and quiet room. And I got it when I arrive. There’s toothbrush & toothpaste and 1 piece pajamas provided. It’s not too faraway to walk from Okayama station. It’s also easy to walk to Okayama Castle & Korakuen (prefer Korakuen to the castle; if you seen too ma...

We were given a room situated on the 8th floor and the room was very spacious and neat. The staff were very accommodating as they helped to take care of our luggage even after checking out as we wanted to visit the famous tourist sites around the area. The hotel is also strategically situated just 10 minutes away from Okayama Station and 5 minutes away from AEON mall w...

I stayed a week in Japan, and my stay at APA Hotel in Okayama was by far my best experience. The room is quite large by Japanese standards and it's just a quick walk from JR Okayama Station. When you leave the central exit (towards the foundation), hang a right and walk straight until you see the hotel on the right (it's on a corner). The bed was extremely comfortable ...

It been fantastic stay in ANA hotel with good staff. I leave my luggage on high speed train on way to Okayama, and the front desk manager helped me to locate the bag from loss and found center, plus send the bag back in two days before I check out; is mission impossible according to train station officer. I would say it is best hotel to stay on the town if you are trav...

Okayama View has a good, central location, near Korakuen Garden & restaurants. However, it is rather hard to find, as it is located on a side street w/minimal signage in English. Lobby is on the 2nd Floor & one must enter the ground floor garage to get to the elevator to the hotel. Staff is very pleasant but the lobby & public spaces are dull, nothing special. Rooms ...

excellent location just a few minutes walk from Okayama Station. water dispenser available at the lobby that looks like a cafeteria. pyjamas available at the lobby too, in a sanitised wardrobe. but there is only 1 kind of pyjamas available (from what I saw) and it is a one piece, dress-like. room is very small (typical Japanese room size). for a 1 night stay, it was wo...

Hotel Excel - Okayama is situated in a very convenient position, just so handy to every thing one needs whilst visiting this beautiful city. It is surrounded by good restaurants all within walking distant, The Symphony Hall is just across the road and is well worth a visit. A grocery store that is open from 9AM until late evening has a good range of needs including f...

We booked this hotel without knowing what kind of hotel it was. It's a hotel for short stays and although it has all the amenities it's very far from Okayama. When you arrive the staff isn't visible. The room has the windows closed although you can open them. The hotel page doesn't show what the room is like. From the Niwase Station you have 20 minutes walking through ...

Great location and breakfast buffet! However we had difficulty finding the entrance at first because it's small and mixed in with other stores. There was no sign in English and I only figured out where the hotel was by translating the hiragana (which I'm not too good at).

Very nice customer service here. The staffs were polite with smile and helpful. They make me have a enjoyable trip in Okayama, also I will highly recommend my friend to stay here if they want to visit Okayama. I will be traveling to Okayama again and hope to see you again in my next trip.

The staff was nice and courteous, the grounds were beatiful. The rooms were big for Japan standards. The only thing to note here is that the hotel is outside of the main part of the city but they have a shuttle that runs hourly from Okayama Station.

Nice and compact hotel. A bit dated, but they have the amenities you will need for your trip. Coin laundry was convenient. A bit of a walk to the JR Okayama station and further away from Okayama Castle, but definitely doable. Walk by the big river when going to the castle for a pleasant excursion. Even better, you can rent a bike to explore the area more (but I persona...

During my stay, there were unseasonably warm temperatures, causing the room to become unbearably hot. I attempted to turn on the air conditioning, only to realize there was no way to switch it from Heat to AC. Upon calling the reception desk, I found out that only the hotel could change it over to AC and as it wasn't June yet, they could not do anything about it. Th...

The address in the confirmation email is for a different hotel with the same name about 20 minutes away by car (number 2). It was very frustrating driving to this one instead and being told that wasn’t the one and having to hop on the vehicle again. The one that actually is (number 1) doesn’t even show up on google maps search, only the number 2 does.

The room was comfortable and fully equipped (having a washing machine was definitely a plus). We were welcomed by our host and were fully satisfied by our stay. I definitely recommend the place! It's 12 min away from Okayama station and 30 min from the famous gardens (walking).

I like this hotel chain. Always decently priced, typically convenient location, very clean, decent basic breakfast. The staff here were very patient and helpful. Room's tend to be small by western standards, but I have no complaints. I can put luggage under bed, there is a sage, a kettle, and wifi. Bathroom always clean and toothbrush /paste provided.

The hotel is located 5 minutes to the station. The room is spacious and clean. The only drawback is it starts from the second floor where there is no lift to reach the lobby from the ground. So if you carry a suitcase it’ll be a bit painful for you to go up the staircase. Other than that the hotel is of very good value.

Be very careful the location they have isn’t the actual location, we walked from the airport and it ended up taking us 2hrs because we trusted the geo-pin. Being as remote as it is nobody speaks English but it was all pretty chill apart from the fact I have tattoos.....they were not happy about me wanting to take a bath (they have communal baths), which is fair enough ...

The hostel is about 10 minutes walk from Okayama Station. The front staff is very friendly and speaks fluent english, so communication won’t be a problem. They allow you to store your luggage at the lobby if you came early, so that’s a good thing. The room is kinda basic, and the bed is quite open (no curtains for the top deck) but it is acceptable for a place to sleep...

This is Japanese culture at it's best. The rules are the rules. No underwear in the bath area. No shoes to be worn. Capsule area cannot be used 1000 - 1700. Check in restarts 1300. 150 Yen charge per night for large luggage.. The rules are what makes the place a truly Japanese experience. The sauna and spa were great. I stayed 2 nights and could use the locker and...

When I was looking for hotels for my trip to Japan, almost all the hotels were unavailable except for a few capsule hotels and this. We were keen to visit Naoshima and booked things very last minute. Although costing more than other places, it was excellent. We arrived at 9am to leave our luggage and the friendly staff were there to take it. Just a word of warning, there aren't always staff at the Ryokan (especially during the middle of the day) so make sure when you book that they will be there whe...

The hotel is located near to tram station, so it is convenient for us to wander around Okayama city. it is also about 7mins walk to the Okayama Castle and Okayama Korakuen from the hotel. The room is a bit small for us, however it is really nice and clean. The breakfast also good. They give free newspaper to the tenants too (i need this to update on my baseball stuf...

I am so happy I stayed at the Uno Port Inn on my way to Naoshima. Not only is it perfectly located between the train and the ferry, but it also was wonderful. Terrific wifi, room was well equiped with private toilet and shower. Best of all the coffee and the breakfast were fantastic. The owner, Max was very welcoming and provides great information to you about Naosh...

Super clean and high-tech of the house! We stayed many places when we travel before, this house is the best of the best we ever stay! There is a big garden with the villa, so we can enjoy counting the star at night. The host can communicate in English, Chinese & Japanese. They are very nice couple who prepared foods and drinks for us! We love to stay again when we go ...
Traveler impressions of Okayama
Very nice city. It has a great castle and lots of nice museum. And Near a city there are many great places including Kurasiki and Takamasu and so on.
Okayama is a good stop over if you want to visit Kurashiki , which is a sea-side town on the west side of Okayama.
Fasilitas kota besar tanpa keriuhan dan kesibukannya. Fasilitas umum sangat bagus. Objekl budaya nerdekatan
One of our favorite cities in Japan. Quiet, relaxing--a genuine delight--gardens and all. Can skip the castle however.
Okayama is a small provincial city with an outstanding Japanese garden: Korakoen and castle. It is a quiet friendly place with a freat array of restaurants in the heart of the the city.
Okayama's best hotels with breakfast

I can't think of anything that I would blame. The location is inside a shopping mall and just around 5 mins walk to the Okayama station which is excellent. Furthermore, when you go down, there is the shopping street right next to the hotel! Super convenience. As you may know hotel's room in Japan tends to be small, but the room here is spacious! I can open my 24 inc...

When visiting Okayama for either a day trip or a few days, the statues of Momotaro are undoubtedly going to get your attention. Statues of a dog, monkey, and pheasant will also be seen, representing the Peach Boy’s travel companions that joined him as he went to fight the demons. If not already captivated by the city, knowing the story behind these characters can add some magic and relevance to a visit here. Catching a photo-op with Momotaro or his companions is the way to go when heading to the Culture Zone, an area with the city’s main sites on the eastern side of the central business district. The city’s most well-known site and one of Japan’s top three best landscaped gardens – Korakuen Garden – is found here. Across from it is Okayama Castle, a striking piece of architecture noted for its black color. These historical and cultural sites provide excellent sightseeing destinations as well as excellent insight into the area’s history.
