“March hotel is a brand new property which provides you with best in class amenities within affordable price. I booked this hotel from Agoda with expectations of getting a class facility similar to April and August suites as the owner is same - and the hotel exceeded my expectations - I have previously stayed in April suites also so I trusted this new property - really they kept my trust. This hotel is managed, staffed and maintained to the highest degree and is excellent value for money. It is Located near to Tops supermarket( Central Pattaya) in a quiet street (very common in Thailand provincial towns), but the nightlife is only 3-4 minutes away. This may not be a 5 start luxury hotel but the interior design, decoration and layout makes it a very comfortable stay. The balcony is big, the fridge is big, the pool is well designed - in short it is much better than many of the 4 star establishments in Pattaya and elsewhere. I stayed with my 4 friends and one couple - all of them may not be free to write a review but on their behalf too it was rated the best value for money hotel. The receptionist Miss Julia took great care for all of us - she is very polite and caring. We started our stay very next day of the Grand opening of the hotel and I am sure the standards will be maintained in the coming years too. To close this review at last I would like to add - I really enjoyed my stay here, believe me and you will also.”

“I was very impressed with my stay at this hotel. It is located near the soi bakhao, with walking distance to pattaya festival shopping centre, beach, restaurants, bars, or you could easily take a motorbike taxi to walking street. This hotel is excellent value for money for a 4 star hotel and for the extra $10 aud a night I upgraded to the deluxe premium and the room was very spacious with a balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful and because I checked in thru facebook, the give me 2 free cans of Coke. It has a rooftop swimming pool and the swimming pool is big enough to do a few laps and they have happy hour cocktails for 2 for the price of 1. The buffet breakfast is pretty good too, a lot better than these other Pattaya hotel buffet breakfasts. Next time I come to Pattaya, I'll be staying at this hotel again.”

“A brand new, very well appointed hotel with an amazing pool and private beach. The location is just outside Pattaya in the more relaxed comforts of Jomtien near the Pattaya Marina. About 400 - 500 baht for a taxi to Pattaya. The staff were all all very attentive and went out of their way to ensure we were looked after throughout our stay. The room had a spectacular view of the ocean and pool with a private balcony and outdoor seating to watch the sunsets. The room facilities were top notch and very comfortable. The bathroom and monsoon shower was a nice touch with all the amenities one would expect from this brand hotel, right down to the great water pressure and hot water that did not need adjusting every 30 seconds - a welcome change from most hotels in Thailand. The and food and drinks were a little on the high side but the quality was easy to see why. The hotel buffet breakfast was once of the best quality and selection I've had in a long time and I stay in hotels a lot. Great job all round and the small lost in translations issues were easy to forgive. I would recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a relaxing stay to unwind in peace.”

Holiday Inn Pattaya By IHG

Excellent9,482 reviews

“This is probably the best hotel on Pattaya Beach Road. I've stayed several other hotels including Amari Ochid, Pattaya Beach Resort, but Holiday Inn satisfied me the most. On the day I checked in, they have upgraded my room, I don't exactly remember the exact room type. It was the last room on the hallway after you get out from the elevator. The room had a fantastic ocean view, a lot better than what I've seen from Centara Grand. The breakfast was okay, crowded with people. The swimming pool was nice but small. You can overview the people walking and cars moving from the swimming pool. It was small but not crowded. Bathroom was great. You can bath and relax in the bathtub while enjoying the great sunset of Pattaya Beach. The hotel's location was also good. You can easily take taxi or local pick up taxi down to the road. “We booked this hotel to celebrate my parents’ anniversary and my mother’s birthday. However, the staffs forgot my request which was shown in the booking. When I reminded them at check-in, all the front desk staffs suddenly sang a birthday song at the lobby. My mother was surprised; however, the surprise came with wrong time and wrong place. I believe it can have a better arrangement if the hotel staffs read my request in details. Apart from the embarrassing surprise, we had a very good time at the hotel. The hotel is situated close to Central Marina and is in a walking distance to Terminal 21. It also provides free shuttle bus to the beach. Therefore, we could access most of the attractions easily. Furthermore, the room is huge. Staff are helpful and friendly. Especially a lady, I guess who is the manager of the Hotel. She took care of us during breakfast. She also arranged an addition shuttle bus for my family to the beach. We are very appreciated what she did on our last day of stay. We will definitely book this hotel when we visit Pattaya again.”

“This is the best location of any hotel in Pattaya, I had a great time staying here. The staff are wonderful and very helpful, you are in Thailand so sometimes you have to understand and work thru that. I see some comments about breakfast, the breakfast is great, eat the thai food, you came here to experience Thailand, not eat the same ole breakfast like back home. Anyways I think the breakfast is great. They could use a resturant, but again i came here to see Thailand not my hotel, I ate every meal at a resturant and tried some of the best food I have ever had in my life, I love Thai food.”

“the hotel is a good one and I stayed there on my last 10 visites to pattaya. the location is on soi 4 between 2nd road with resturants and the new big c mall and beach road short way to the beach and to transportation to walking street. there are many restarunts in the area including one big in the parking of the bacara the ladyboy show that have great thai food. breakfast at the hotel is good better than in most of the hotels and if you pay with your agoda reservation it cheap. they have buffea BBK sea food dinner for 600 B to hotel guest it good. swimming pool is big and great for children and adult . and also the fitness room is good (not big) but i didnt used it. staff is very helpfull . one day i had breakfast at 6am and after I couldnt open the door of my room because some problem with the electronic door tecnition came immidiatly try to help and fix it and then when he didnt succid he changed to a new locker and all that at 6.30 AM. I warmly recomand vista pattaya hotel but you must book at agoda (cheaper than direct bokking) as soon as posible the hotel most of the time is fully booked and cancelasion is free till a week before check in . one advice usualy you cant room before 14.00 as it alwayes fully booked and they are cleaning the rooms.”

“You just could not imagine that you could pay for less than HK$500 to get a four star hotel in Pattaya. Location is super; far away from the noisy walking street area, but located centrally at the city, that makes your travel time to other parts of Pattaya minimal. The hotel is located in a very quiet back street area. But this does not mean that it is hard to reach. We are a group of nine people. We don't have a problem of getting a tuktuk to go back to the hotel. In addition, you don't need to bargain too hard with the tuktuk driver They just offer to take us back to the hotel for 200 baht. Hotel is new and clean. The room is quite large. Apart from having a refrigerator, the rooms are even equipped with washer, microwave and induction cocker. You can even make your dinner at the hotel after you have brought some seafood for the Naklau Seafood Market. Seafood prices there is unbelievable low and there are abundant of varieties of seafood. I will highly recommend this hotel to others.”

“We book this hotel to make up for our Honey moon. I was quite sceptical of staying near Pattaya as I knew the beaches in Pattaya are too crowded for our comfort flooded by umbrellas and beach benches vendors. Location: The location was about 5-10mins drive from Jomtien beach, very near to Nongnuch park. When we reaches the Hotel, car park spaces was aplenty, therefore, good for those who drive. The style of the hotel was very modern with wonderful usage essences of wood and blend the surrounding with the hotel. Hotel Staff: The staff was very professional and courteous, very helpful when approcached, able to speak simple English. Staff at reception was able to provide advice when we went for a bicycle ride with bikes(free usuage provided from the Hotel. Staff at restaurant was fabulous and polite, greeted every customer with smile, I love their service, Thumbs up! Room: The room was not the biggest but it is the best that we had stayed. Room was also designed with esccence of natural wood, the toilet, closet and shower was partion in one sector, then there is the bedding area, daybed and TV leisure area, lastly the balcony which consists of the private jaccuzzi. An additional to that, the view from the room was spectacular, all blend in to the ambience! Hotel condition: Facilties such as swimming pool, Gym, Restaurant and Internet room was new, well kept, very clean and detail. Food and Dining: We had our dinner at the hotel. Dinner was good, we had it on the rooftop spaces which oversee Pattaya seaview, magnificent! Food was delicious, well priced! Breakfast was included in our stay, dining by the pool, blend of asian and western breakfast selection. Food quality was good, ambience and the presentation of the dining space was unforgettable.....! Value for Money: After all I had said, I would say my stay at U Pattaya was worth every penny, would comeback again!! Thumbs up "U Pattaya"! Keep it up!!”

Siam Bayshore Resort Pattaya

“This report could be simply expressed with the words “ stay here”. I have been a guest at the Siam Bayshore Pattaya hotel 4-5 times this year already. I use the term ”been a guest” because this hotel goes out of its way to make you feel "a guest". This is simply the best hotel I stay in , in Asia. My work takes me to pretty much all corners of the globe and as a result I stay allot of nights in hotels of various quality and service levels. The Siam Bayshore Pattaya really does try and make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as they can. The staff are brilliant, always smiling, helpful and very very happy to help with anything. This of course reflects on the management at this hotel as you don’t get exemplary service in the hotel business if you don’t have outstanding hotel management. Siam Bayshore Pattaya could best be described as close to everything but far from the madness… it’s close to all the restaurants and bars on Walking street but its far enough away that at night sitting by the pool it’s just you and the occasional chirp of geckos and crickets. The pool area is very relaxing and nice for adults with fun theme slide for young ones. They have a great poolside drink and food menu as well.. Rooms are very clean and well appointed with lots of room…. get a pool side room…its worth it. Its little details I like and things like a little well lit magnifying mirror to shave by next to the basin, things like internet which is blazingly quick, things like afternoon cookies which they drop off… So many hotels tell you they offer great service but rarely do they deliver. The Siam Bayshore Pattaya just does it constantly.. every time. In writing this I’m trying to offer the reader a balanced view and also mention some things that the hotel could do better or improve on… but I’m scratching my head to think of any with this hotel….. If your coming to Pattaya then the Siam Bayshore Pattaya is the place to stay whether you’re here on business or vacation .”

“400 metres from Pattaya 2nd Road and 50 metres from Soi Buakhao so very well located. The rooms are absolutely first class - clean/spacious with excellent facilities. Staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive.Soi 13 outside is full of bars and nightlife and Soi Buakhao very close is equally enthralling. Breakfast at the Hotel is surprisingly limited to toast/cereals with no Thai food; for the Farangs is the eggs and bacon breakfast. There is a lovely pool outside and for those who want it - a good gym. In day or evening you can sit on the lovely balcony and watch the world go by whilst enjoying some Thai food and a few beers. Have stayed here 3 times now and it is definitely one of Pattaya's best hotels for the price/facilities. Have stayed at more expensive/glamorous hotels in Pattaya and theya are not a patch on this place. Absolutely first class.”

“Book from Agoda for about 54SGD per night. Selected this place as based on the price I get a huge space unit, free breakfast and a new place. Very resort feel lobby with all the resort furnitures, layout and setup. Check in was easy and fast as receptionist speaks good English. The rooms are in an apartment style building. The white color building somehow just didn't match the resort feel. As expected the room size I had at Block 5 was huge. Bed was comfy. Room with digital aircon. Artistic minimalist furniture. TV mounted on the wall was atat small BUT the best signal reception in all the Pattaya hotels I have stayed. Room is very clean. no funky smell. Toilet is also clean but lack simple stuff such as tooth brush unless you call them for it. Hot and cold water in the shower was OK. Full breakfast layout and food was great. Recommend to sit out side as the airconditining area will make your clothes smell due to the cooking and poor exhaust. Huge pool area. You kinda don't want to go to Pattaya beach anymore. There is a spa center which I think for its cleanliness, the price is OK. Enjoyed my stay here and will definitely come back if the same price still stands.”

“We received a room upgrade upon arrival which was nice. The room was clean and huge with a very nice bathroom, comfortable bed (which is hard to find in Pattaya) and the staff were great. We really liked this hotel and will be back. The A-One Pattaya Beach Resort is part of three local hotels that share facilities. The only problems we had with this hotel, and I think management should address the issue, is pool access. Firstly, each day the main hotel closes it's pool at 5pm to setup the buffet for coach loads of Chinese tourists that arrive daily, so from 4.30 people that are kicked out the the two main pools end up in the small pool at our hotel. The pool at A-One Pattaya Beach Resort is very nice but relatively small. A couple of families with 5 or 6 kids on floating beds tends to fill the pool and it becomes annoying for the hotel guests trying to relax in the pool. Secondly, crusty undies... Nearly everyday we saw people either turn up at the pool fully clothed and jump in or strip down to their underwear and jump in. Men's and women's swimwear is available all over Pattaya for less than 300Baht, please buy a set before swimming...”

“loved this hotel. we originally stayed 4 nights and then later came back for another 5 nights. the best thing about this hotel is the views. every room has an awesome view. they each have a balcony (most with a couple of chairs on them to sit and enjoy the view). the rooms are modern, clean and beautifully presented. the hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. the location of the hotel cannot be beaten. it is at the quieter end of jomtien beach road, however still an easy walk to all of the restaurants, bars etc. bhart buses came past all the time. never had to wait more than 2 minutes for a bhart bus, and for 10 bhart per person you can travel the length of jomtien. these same buses go through to pattaya. the hotel has 2 wonderful pools, and the beach is across the road. the breakfasts offer an extensive choice of food, although the hot food is not always as hot as you would like. the beds at the hotel have hard mattresses, however this appears to be the norm throught all of thailand. when booking through agoda the value for money is exceptional.i would recommend this hotel, and i will be returning!!!”

The owner (english guy) was amazing! sat and chilled with us all day, gave us the best advice and knowledge on Pattaya, even got me a FREE TATTOO from the studio across the road! He took us for a tour round Pattaya and he mountains just out of kindness. This place is Cheap! the food is good and its only 100baht for a full english breakfast. Beers were 60baht an water 20baht. Its also open 24 hours. The area is perfect! just a bit away from all the gogo bars and people screaming at you etc, so you get left alone. The lady who works behind the bar is outgoing, polite and just a great all round person, she help us out daily and we got to know her very well as well as all the staff. finally, at night you have a girl/boy (ladyboy) who's is also really nice. she gave us some funny nights! I could honestly not say a bad word about this place and the staff. When even I return to Thailand it will be to this place, they honestly made us have the best holiday ever! “Absolutely loved my time here! The location is in a quiet area 50m from a nice little beach and easily accessible to central Pattaya or Jomtien. The hotel is set back off soi 4 a little behind houses so there is no street noise which is nice. I had a room on the top (3rd) floor which gave a nice view from the big front balcony and nothing but tree tops at the back window. The room was huge, good air-con free wifi satellite tv a good sized fridge and big comfortable bed which is a rarity in low cost hotels in Thailand. The only downsides I could find were that the bathroom could use a refurbishment, and there is no lift which makes getting to the top floor regularly a bit of work. But overall if you're on a budget and want a comfortable relaxing hotel I could not recommend this place high enough. Thank you again for a most enjoyable 2 weeks and I will absolutely be booking here again next time I come to Pattaya!”

Hotel receptionist welcome us by a big smile, refreshments and take us directly to our room and only left after showing us around the room. Spacious and beautiful room, creative decorated from the bed to the bath room. Amazing big swimming pool. Definitely will return there and stay more nights!”

“I first stayed at the Garden Cliff hotel several years ago. I will first say it is tucked away in a remote location compared to other hotels in Pattaya. However, it is very stylish, beautifully decorated rooms with huge beds and good quality linen. The hotel has lovely views from reception and the bar area down to the sea, which I personally like very much. They have created a little private beach, with soft white sand, and an inflatable boon to keep the swimming area of the sea clean. They have a very nice seafood buffet by the beach at a reasonable rate. At the rate I pay, I find the hotel a true 4 star and great value for money, and I now stay there on a regular basis, but I have transport. There is a shuttle bus to town and taxi’s close by, about 15 minutes to beach road.”

Sunday Sea Two Pool Villa Pattaya

“Sea two pool villa is an excellent choice for the wary traveler looking unwind in a secluded establishment. Since Pattaya's beach is not as attractive as it once was, the next best option is an all in one resort in Pattaya. Location-wise it is off the city centre and there are basically zero shops for food or shopping nearby (closest is about 10 minutes by car/motorbike, pattaya floating market). But what it makes up with is its facilities and amenities. With private dipping pool with jets, outdoor shower, spacious villa and the common facilities such as the gym, a restaurant, a bar area and a common pool, sea two pool villa is a great, budget-friendly getaway resort. One complain though other then its location (which you can easily make up by renting a vehicle or motorbike), is its service. The room cleaning services is slow in response even though we requested only for a change of towels without the need for room cleaning. Apart from that I think i can add a new weekend resort getaway to my list.”

“i visit pattaya twice a year and i have stayed at the top rated hotels. there is no hotel in pattaya that can compete with amari, it’s fabulous and the staff are so friendly and helpful. during our recent visit in july, we booked 2 rooms for 8 nights and for all nights we were upgraded to the ocean tower rooms, trust me, if amari has rooms which are more superior they will upgrade you. the food is great at the essence restaurant. there is also a 5* restaurant called mantra which belongs to amari. it has a variety of good food. amari has two swimming pools which are clean and have a cozy feeling to them. if you stay in amari, you can book a room in the garden wing or the ocean tower, so if you prefer to stay in a room with a thai nature feeling then stay in the garden wing, but if you prefer a room with a sea view then stay at the ocean tower. there are other great hotels in pattaya, but amari is the best as shops are nearby, the beach is right outside, there are great cheap first class restaurants nearby which belong to the hotel. also, there are great places within the hotel for children such as an activities centre especially designed for children from the age of 2- 12. furthermore, there is a business centre with free internet access and they also have a free dvd rental system. this is truly a magnificent place and the only other hotel i can think of which can compete is burj al arab in dubai. i will be back at this paradise resort in december!”

“Enjoyed our stay at the hotel, located outside of the Central Pattaya area, however access through Taxis and Baht Bus is cheap and no problem. Close to Sanctuary of Truth. Suit families, large groups etc. A little bit impersonal, and in an area of Pattaya that is frequented by Russian Tourists (not a lot of English Speaking people). Would recommend this hotel, only ate breakfast at the buffet - didn't eat at the other restaurants.”

“We stayed at the Dusit Hua Hin last year for our anniversary, but this year we thought we'd try the Pattaya location. From parking the car to walking into the lobby, it's a rush of "nice." The place just smells nice. There is an obvious emphasis to detail here. The room was comfortable and quiet. Bathroom great. Rain shower. Nice big balcony. I think this is better than the other hotels in Pattaya of similar rankings. Reason is, this one is actually "on the beach," AND it is also on the main bay, overlooking all the other hotels which are NOT on the beach. So you have the best of it all. You walk down to the ground level and go to the beach right out your door. No crossing the street. Then, from your balcony, you sit and enjoy the great view of the Pattaya Bay with all the activity and the cool "Pattaya" sign lit up at night. Food wasn't that great we don't think. I think they have the effort, but need some new recipes. Not sure. It was just missing the wow factor. The pool was nice. Tennis courts on the water. Great view. Good service. Really clean. We'll be back again.”

“one of the best hotels that we have stayed in thailand. beautiful pool, clear salt/chlorine and great for kids. we got a great deal through agoda. if not 5 star definitely 4.9 star :) you walk onto the beach from the hotel and there are three fabulous swimming pools. the hotel layout and architecture is very nice indeed with thai flavors through out the hotel features. i particularly liked the gardens. also the way they have built the hotel you get more of a community feel to the hotel rather than being locked up in a room somewhere. this hotel is excellent if you want to have a relaxing stay and it is not too far from the center of pattaya. the food is definitely tailored to the western customers. the only comment on the down side is the people at the reception when we checked in. they wanted every detail and was not satisfied until i opened my laptop and got the agoda booking printed out. i think if they smile a bit more everything would be perfect. all in all i love this hotel....a thai gem.”

Breakfast is one of the best choices I’ve ever had, big variety for different kind of people and nationalities. Amazing pool, own access to sea, nice in general. “For the discerning traveller, the centre of Pattaya is best avoided unless you are happy to mix in close proximity with hoards of relatively unsophisticated Chinese tour groups or the recent influx of Russians. I have lived in Thailand about 22 years and this location is by far the best within easy reach of Bangkok. The rooms are well appointed including a bath as well as the usual shower and the Internet works well enough to stream programmes from favourite sources without relying on the selection provided by the hotel itself. Technically, the quality of the hotel channels is as good as I have seen and the selection is also not too bad though I prefer to access my own programmes using the Internet. A small gripe is the rather extortionate cost of breakfast in the hotel though I usually rent a car for trips outside Bangkok and prefer to find my own breakfast in nearby cafes. The views from the balconies towards Ko Lan and Pattaya City, including wonderful sunsets, are as good as they get in Thailand.”

“Aside from the mucky, garbage-filled beach, this resort is lovely. It does offer a free shuttle to the main party beach of Pattaya, but since my family isn't into that, we were a bit disappointed with how gross their "private beach" was. It definitely has one of the best pools we've ever swam in, with varying depths suited for the whole family, though! The beds are hard, but that's very typical in Thailand. It's definitely a nice place to stay, just be prepared to travel elsewhere for activities/shopping/beach fun.”

Breakfast at the Hotel is surprisingly limited to toast/cereals with no Thai food; for the Farangs is the eggs and bacon breakfast.

“I drove from Bangkok to Pattaya and was relying on Google maps for the location but on Google maps the address is wrong. It still takes you to the old Mercure. No worries, tried to call the hotel but website is unfriendly and had to call main office and was given the hotels' number. Got it easily once I was explained where it was. When making the booking I requested for a higher floor and as the booking wasn't last minute I expected this to be taken care off; hence, booked a higher value room with sea view. Got to the hotel at 2pm and it was taking time to check in so went to the pool/bar for a beer. Was checked in and the room was on 7th floor and we had to navigate to between the buildings in front to see the sea. Asked for higher floor and then was suggested 14th floor, then 15th and then finally was given 12th floor. No worries as the view was ok. Thanks K.NI. The staff is very friendly and there is a convinient car park next door, which is a plus. The hotel is new and the beds are comfortable. They do need to work on a few things like decrease check in time and install glass doors in bathing area (can be sliding). Four stars for now as this was my first visit and they need time to settle in. If things continue the same next time, the stars might reduce.”

“I've stayed at many budget and mid priced hotels in Pattaya , and I would say this was the best overall. I booked it based on the price (less than 1000 baht) and the photo's on Agoda. I've seen reviews criticising the amenities but the photo's are true and accurate of what you're going to get. The rooms aren't huge (25 sq m)as a kitchenette is included but were fine for me. I had very little dealing with reception staff - but they were efficient and helpful on all occasions. The room service and security staff were always smiling and very helpful. There are washing machines you can use for 30 baht or the hotel laundry service. There is a laundry,7/11 and street cafes just outside.. A Big C supermarket 10 mins walk away, mototaxis opposite. It is a ten minute taxi ride away from the beach. The gym and sauna were fine for me the location was ok - if it was nearer the beach you'd be paying twice the price and probably have a lot of noise from bars etc. Overall very good.”

Most speak good English, always present with a friendly demeanour and that smile so famous in Thailand, and just so good with the kids. The location - Perfect! Easy access to the beach, far enough from Walking Street not to bothered by revellers, but close enough by baht bus to become one! The room - We opted for the Seaview Deluxe room with breakfast included. Room was lovely, with good amenities. Nice and quiet, good view and free wifi. The housekeeping staff did a good job, and we were able to have one of them come back as a babysitter for our 2 yo daughter so we could go out for a night. Wonderful rapport with our sometimes difficult little girl and we would not hesitate to use that service again. The price - We got 60% discount thanks to Agoda on a special which made this a very affordable stay! No, I don't work for Agoda, but have now booked into double digits with them and never have an issue. All in all a highly recommended hotel for anyone travelling to Pattaya.”

“i was staying whilst sorting out a funeral so i wasn't interested in how near or far it was to the beach etc. the hotels proximity to main roads meant it could get a bit noisier at night than somewhere off the main road, but actually the air-con provided a noise cover all night which meant i got good nights sleep and at a very comfortable temperature. the quality of the room was very good, and excellent value. free bottled water was a nice touch too. actually preferred the hotel being away from the party/seedier side of pattaya. there must be nicer parts of thailand to have a family holiday, but couldn't fault the mantrapura hotel. if i have to go to pattaya again i will stay there again.”

“2nd time staying at Centara Azure, Pool view were fully booked very fast and mange to get city view. Compare of fantastic pool view (Centara Azure have one of the best pool in Pattaya Hotel), city view is basically can consider nothing. Amazing e-control switch allow you easily control the light and temperature in hotel room. Universal Adapter help resolved most traveler problem to charge their devices. Great location as it only took you 2 minutes walk to Avenue Pattaya, Main road. Overall worth the money and definitely one of my choice when planned to visit Pattaya again.”

The sightseeing is also very nice ,My favourite was the Noong Nooch Gardens . I will definitely recommend people to go to Pattaya as it gives you more of a holiday than Phuket does as Phuket gets over crowded with tourists. The only downfall is that its takes over 3 hours to get to PATTAYA from Bangkok due to the Traffic .

Great variety of Western, Thai restaurant. The water of along the beach road is not good for swimming. Only the water around Koh Larn is very clear for swimming. Like Koh Larn, taxi fare should be fixed or metered so that tourist will feel more comfortable.

What I did not care for is I booked a tour and a hotel transport back to BKK airport, both of which flaked! It really left a bad taste in my mouth. I prepaid for one, confirmed for both of them and they both tanked. Neither of which had the decency to call and tell me they were cancelling! That was the most appalling part. That was the one major difference between Pattaya and Bangkok that I did notice, the people I scheduled things with were very eager to make sure they made contact with you like their reservationists said they would (i.e., leave messages with your hotel, email, etc.), whereas in Pattaya, they did not seem to care about whether or not the customer's needs were being met. I was very disappointed. The city itself, however, was a lot of fun. I would go back even if I had those 2 sour apple experiences. I just will be sure never to use those 2 companies again.

It works based on a shuttle service kind of system. It is wise to check with the driver how much you need to pay and it should not costs more than 40 bhat per head unless you are going somewhere of your choice.

The city has deteriorated drastically, the traffic is horrendous, worse than Bangkok. The meter taxi system doesn't function as the drivers don't want to use the meters and Baht Taxis only suitable for backpackers. The main improvement is the availablity of a lot of excellent quality condo units to rent. Especially by The Nordic Group. Was considering a long stay but not sure we can deal with the transport situation. Pattaya is a good destination for bar-hopping 1 star travellers and also golfers who might be able to put up with downtown Pattaya to be able to enjoy the great courses local to the place. Walking Street is the most disgusting thoroughfare we have seen on the planet, just why it is full of Chinese tour groups gawking is a mystery!!!
