We stayed at The Anchorage fantastic would go back for 5 days of relaxation. But we did not like the rest of Port Stephens we live at Port Macquarie and to compare it with Port Macquarie we did not like it at all.
The food was over priced and not of the same standard the same with the shopping and sightseeing
A small town with beautiful view and restaurants. There are several 'standard' activities you can do here like dolphin watching, whale watching, sand boarding, horse or camel riding, diving etc.
you can get similar details at hotels or tourist information center. I would recommend the restaurant here, those sitting next to the sea are with stunning view when you come for dinner. Also the beaches are beautiful. Crystal clean , I can see ppl come for surfing.
So many beautiful beaches around. Its worth checking them out if you like beaches :) Most recent one I went to was Zenith beach which was a beautiful secluded quiet beach next to Mount Tomaree.
Definitely do the short walk (uphill) at Mount Tomaree to see some amazing views. Hoping to head back here when it gets a bit warmer. Totally worth the 3 hour drive from Sydney.
Beautiful place. Zenith beach is one of the most beautiful and clean beaches I've been to. The Marinas are lovely, and it is always lovely to take boats out and interact with dolphins.
People are very friendly, but the area is in danger of being built up too much.
Very populated area and busy roads... but easy to travel on streets. Nice little caches of beaches. Shame about the marina - it spoils what would have been a beautiful natural spot.
Mainly good for beaches and relaxing laid back stays. Some night life with local clubs but not really for the all nighter type people who like to stay out partying all hours.
More a family destination.
Port Stephens is absolutely spectacular. The beaches are beautiful and water clear. The Tomaree National Park is fantastic to hike in, tracks are easy to follow.
There are plenty of water activities. Whales and Dolphins are readily seen. A short trip from Newcastle Airport. The bus system is excellent for cheap travel and a friendly helpful Taxi service is also available. We were blown away. Port Stephens exceeded or expectations for a nature based holiday.
dophlin trip, whale trip, oakvale farm must to go(2pm can fed koala)...Oakvale farm very good farm. sandboarding is a very fresh and fun activities.
must try.pls join Moonshadow Criuse.
Disappointing experiences from numerous restaurants.Poor service, rude staff.Difficulty securing a table at 2 restaurants despite many empty tables.
Staff complained they were busy but if you know it is a long wend don't you cater accordingly? Although the area was beautiful & great beaches the lack of service at numerous restaurants would put me off returning to this area.
We went on dolphin cruise, tabogoning park, beach, shark encounters while we stayed. Heaps happy and love the white sand and clear waters.
Great family holiday and so much to do when we come back next school holidays
Make time to do some bush walking as there are a lot of walking tracks around and plenty to see on them especially all the wild flowers.
great views all around the area of Port Stephens, great for those who love water views - so peaceful and relaxing
Like the beaches, activities that I dont have it here in my country lika ATV, Sand dunes, parasailing, etc, lots of fun and sun here.
I've been to Port Stephens more than 5 times. However, I found people there are not as friendly as in the past, a bit disappointed.
Couple times of being rude to my group of friends and thought we don't know English. Seems they don't want us to travel there.
Port Stephens is a lovely destination for a short break. it offers many activities as well as all types of good accommodation.
the beaches are lovely
Loved the dolphin cruise, sand dunes activities, especially the ATV rides. These are memorable things that stick for years.
Port Stephen is a gd place to live and get rest , gd for family time , and gd for someone who do need to relaxing
its a great place to visit any time of the year, do a dolphin cruise, and make sure you go to the ray centre
winter is cold but sunny - you can still have a good time outdoors in winter with all the activities around
Great place for a holiday. lot's of good places to see and enjoy. one of my best spots for a short holiday
port stephens is very good area, we also did some sports adventures there on beach or four wheel driving
Like the Bub's fish and chips; oysters at Holbert's Oyster Farm, enjoy the parrots around the beachs.
