Traveler impressions of Puerto Galera
I love that there is so much to see here: the ocean, a city with mountains as its backdrop, peoples of different cultures come together here to celebrate the wonderful work of man and nature that is Puerto Galera.
Fell in love with it. The Sabang harbor looked like a combination of a Greek island and the Istanbul harbor.
Puerto Galera is indeed a nice place, but i think the Governance of Tourism there should pay attention on the transport for the tourist especially on the tricycle that is usually used to travel or transfer in other places.
Area is very poor and primitive. Only famous for the diving. I understand mthere are girlie bars at downtown but did not went to see or check.
Puerto Galera is not a city or even close to it. It is a scuba diving destination. Sabang Beach is not a beach, it's a tidal flat.
Beautiful island with friendly people. There wasn't anything negative from my visit the whole trip was outstanding from diving to sight seeing, relaxation to nightlife.
Puerto Galera, as you arrive on one of the many boats from Batangas, does not really glitter, the sea channel in the close waters does however until you dock.
Puerto Galera is just the city. All attractions are within 15 minute scooter of tuktuk ride. Don't forget to visit the golf course in the mountains with beautiful view I'd the seaside.
Next time I will visit this place, I will visit the white beach part of puerto galera as this place has more sports activity than sabang.
Nice, local experience. But the big plus for this area is you can find places nicely secluded and so relaxing.
Fortunately the total area is not developed to the extent of the original area is that is abit on the pathetic side.
Hidden treasure not accessible by plane, but the boat trip via Calapan for those bringing their cars, or via Muelle, for those parking their cars at Batamgas port, is a breeze.
We went sight seeing using one of the Trikes to some water falls and visited some mountain viewing spots on the east side of the Island .
Many gays. Even in the restaurants the waiters are mostly gays. The shows are all gays. So i don't recommend going out at night with kids because the shows are not wholesome.
Sometimes the local salespersons are very pushy. If you aren't interested, make sure you are firm with them.
for a cost of Php1,500.00 for a group of not more than 6, you can have island hopping. you will transfer from a relatively bigger boat to a small boat to be able to reach the coral island, so as not to destroy the corals.
Get an accommodation in White Beach if you are after Night Life and Get an accommodation in Aninuan if you are after Serenity, view and a little bit of adventure
The city of PG itself is nothing special, but the White Beach area has a fabulous beach, lots of bars , and good restaurants.
Go to White Beach for beach activities - it has fine sand (though not white) and clean surroundings. Sabang beach caters more to diving enthusiasts and night-life places; it doesn't seem as clean as White Beach (we can smell the sewer).
There are quite many restaurants and pubs, and it is not difficult to find your favorite places there in terms of taste and atmosphere.
Puerto Galera is a small town with very friendly inhabitants. If you want to get around then either hire a motorbike or get a motorbike taxi as the cheapest form of transport.
The travel from Manila to Batangas was shortened to 2 - 3 Hours and its convenient now going there as buses are all accessible.
People are mostly unfriendly and overprice services. Not much food choices. Beaches are pebbled with lots of sharp stones.
The boat company - Father and Sons Lines have a very rude staff. They even not have a system. If you bribe them you first board on the boat even if you arrive last.
Puerto Galera is NOT a city. It is a small town, and the name incorporates other nearby resorts, Sabang where I stayed, and White Beach.
Puerto is quite different to other parts of the Philippines I have visited. The locals are more relaxed and friendly and not as pushy as in many other places.
Un posto caotico, da non consigliare, unico vantaggio è il posto più vicino a Manila per fare il bagno al mare.
Puerta Galera has very nice beaches, lots of smaller hotels, many restaurants, and plenty of shopping places for souveniers, etc.
Althogh it takes more than four hours from Manil, Puerto Garela is worth visit. Nothing is more relaxing and fun than wonderful view of the sea, snorkelling and diving, and nightlife at Sabang.
If you're going to travel by boat carry light because you to walk until you reach your hotel area.Tamaraw falls, Aninuan beach, and the nicest beach the White beach, night life anything you want.

More about Puerto Galera
Of course this coastal city is a great destination for those seeking a beachfront vacation. Places such as White Beach offer an alternative beach destination for those who are not making the journey into the bigger Batangas. Puerto Galera features over 30 beaches, so choices are abundant and most hotels near the beaches are located on or near the waterfront.
The Alma-Jane Wreck is very high on the list of destinations sought out by those who come to this region for one of its most famous activities, which is diving. The sunken vessel looks much older than it was, and offers a great opportunity for those who enjoy diving for photography with easy movement made possible by the vessel’s upright position. There are several hotels located near this dive site in Sabang.
