Ananta Spa & Resorts

"The location is excellent. Surrounded by the hills. We were fortunate to experience rains during our stay. Special thanks to the Management for the Complimentary Upgrade. The pool is well maintained (Just a few tiles chipped and a few people floating around without proper swimming costumes). Breakfast on day 2 was great and on day 3 was equally avoidable. A few more Billiard tables / games would have added flavour to the stay. Well connected with Ajmer and Pushkar. Best is to travel by own car. I would love to re-visit the Resort during rains, I am sure the surroundings would be much more picturesque. Also, looking forward to the Udaipur property of Ananta. "

The Greenhouse Resort - Pushkar

"My husband and I spent one night at the Greenhouse Hotel during our 8 days tour in Rajasthan and we wish we could stay for one more night. We were charmed by the hotel the moment we walked in and we had a room upgrade which was a big bonus. The room was wonderfully decorated, modern with stylish wooden furniture (incl. 4 poster bed). Huge modern bathroom. The room can be cold but the small heater on it was comfortable. (we are from the UK so we are ok with a cooler room) The restaurant was fantastic. My husband and I both agree this was the best curries we had during our holiday. The breakfast was very generous and had lots of choices. I personally loved the slightly spicy omelettes. All the staff were exceptional. Friendly and looked after the guests and hotel very well. There was some drums and music at about 10pm but it soon went quiet and had a good night sleep. We found out the next morning that because December was the wedding season, the sounds were from a wedding. We explored the hotel grounds in the morning and were so impressed with the greenhouses and gardens. If we had time we would have used the pool, it looked very cleaned and well maintained. A little gem in Pushkar and gave us wonderful memories of our holiday. "

"We ended up staying over a week here as it was such a nice place to chill and relax. The guys at the front desk will assist with any tour around Pushkar you may be interested in or any onward travel arrangements you may need. On the roof top there is a restaurant run by the awesome restaurant manager Sunlight who offers fantastic service and delicious food. Highly recommend you stay here in Pushkar! "

The Countryside Resort
Pushkar Rural,Pushkar - View on map
"We travelled through India visiting Delhi, then Rajasthan on Royal Enfield Motorcycles with a support vehicle, Indian Driver and assistant. The hotels booked were a mixed standard between very basic shower and beds to 5 star western luxuries. Highlights of our trip were the Taj Mahal at dawn, Ranakpur Jain temples, Pushkar Camel fair, Udaipur Lake and palaces, Diwali fireworks in Delhi and Jaipur. Our second week was spent visiting Sikkim and West Bengal and Calcutta, including mountain monastery trek, white water rafting, Jaldapara Park and Elephant ride, and night train to Calcutta. All in all a very busy but exciting 2 week vacation in India, fantastic culture, peoples and places visited. This resort is being upgraded from older tents and showers to new facilities, the adjoined hotel has just been completed and we were allowed to stay as the first guests, overall excellent for western tourists."

The Westin Pushkar Resort & Spa

"We booked in here for 3 nights as we are travelling India on our honeymoon so thought we would splash out on some luxury accommodation whilst we were here. Great sized room and super comfortable bed, great sized shower although the bath tub was a lot smaller than expected only fitting 1 adult in it. The room was quite luxurious, nice sized balcony to sit out on. We chose to dine in the hotel restaurant on our first night there, that was a mistake. All was going well until the familes brought in with them their 10+ children who started running around the restaurant like it was a McDonald's!! The parents showed absolutely no respect to other guests staying in the hotel and no control over their children, I nearly had my drink knocked over twice by kids running past my table...completely ruining the enjoyment of my dinner. The hotel staff were very poor showing no power what so ever in controlling these kids or even making an offering to us to make amends. The next day we decided to have a swim in the pool, yet again it was ruined by the familes with their kids taking over the resort, very disappointing and not something I would expect from a 5 star resort. Also the music was absolutely terrible, they had the same playlist of commercial electro on repeat at the pool blasting way too loud...it really ruined any chance to relax there. Another sour point was paying 1400rps return for a return taxi into Pushkar, way too steep. So all in all, staying at this place is a gamble. If you get lucky with no kids when you stay you will probably have a better time than we did. The room and the buffet breakfast were the redeaming features about this hotel. Also watch out for the 28% tax you have to pay as that stung us on check out."

Traveler impressions of Pushkar

More about Pushkar

Located in Rajasthan, the holy city of Pushkar is perhaps most famous as being home to the lone Brahma temple in India, although the city has even more to offer. The city is served by the airport in Jaipur, which is about three hours away by car. Once in Pushkar, there are many options for guesthouses and hotels, most of which are located near the important sites that make Pushkar the center of religious tourism.

Not surprisingly, the Brahma Temple gets the lion’s share of visitors to this city. As this temple is one of the very few in the world that are specifically dedicated to the Hindu Lord Brahma, and that makes it an important religious site for many visitors. The Savitri Temple nearby is also a popular follow-up, as its dedicated to the wife of Brahma and is therefore the second-most important temple in the city.

Outside of religious significance, Pushkar is also home to a beautiful mountainous region that has been accented by the Pushkar Lake, providing some spectacular lookout points and photo opportunities for those so inclined.

There’s a lot more to see and do in Pushkar, and the best way to discover what else this city has to offer in terms of attractions, landmarks, and hotels is by exploring the interactive map on this page.
