Stanthorpe is a very friendly country town. If you enjoy wine and friendly people then this is one to add to your list.
A great place for a romantic weekend or a fun girls or guys weekend away, or for group get togethers or family reunions, birthday celebrations or simply a weekend away.
Stanthorpe is an excellant centre where you base your exploration of the Granite Belt's food, wine and National Parks.
Do not miss the Strange Bird Trail.
Stanthorpe is famous for its food and wineries;there are many places nearby tovisit and many interesting things to do.
Stanthorpe is approx. 200 km SW of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. The business centre of the Granite Belt.
The Granite Belt has an Italian migrant heritage and with that fruit & vegetables as well as wine are marketed through cellar doors and on farm cool stores. There are a variety of accommodation types from 5 star B&B's to Back Packer hostels and caravan & camping parks. Two National Parks are also worth visiting with well marked walking tracks and camping areas. During harvest & pruning seasons there is plenty of work available for itinerant workers.
Would recommend it as both a couple and family destination. Beautiful country side and lots of animals.
Small country town with not much to do - lots of bush and a few wineries. 3 hour drive from Brisbane.
Was here with friend for a wedding. Enjoyed local pool and coffees at Brinx Deli
