TN is a tiny village, some places to eat, some small shops, hotels, travel ag and that's all.. There'a a river between the village and the jungle, you can eat in some floating restaurant, fish during the day or use taxi boats to go wherever you want, even coming back from trekking through the rapids.
. Taman Negara itself, if you're planning non more than one day trekking, forget about seeing any animal there, staying in the jungle overnight maybe, but nothing sure.
The only problem with the place is CONNECTIVITY. It is just too difficult to reach here. Kuala Lumpur to Jerantut is still fine - however from Jerantut to Taman Negara is very difficult.
The rainforest is nice, but don't have too high expectations. The views are not that great. Canopy Walkway is cool, but Bukit Tamasek is not.
The wildlife at Mutiara hotel is really great. When we visited Taman Negara in December there was low season with very little turists.
Best resort to stay is Mutiara resort which is located opposite sungai tembiling. This is the only resort located in the jungle side.
Rest of the resorts you will require to cross the river for all activities.
Taman Negara is Malaysia's National Park and it is one of the oldest National Parks. It is surly worth a visit if you in malaysia.
The canopy walk is fantastic and the longest in the world. Others attractions found near Kuala Tahan (Park headquarters for Pahang) include a canopy walkway, Gua Telinga (cave system), Lata Berkoh (rapid). Visitors can enjoy the tropical rainforest, birdwatching or jungle trekking (e.g. Tenor Rentis) and the river views along the Tahan River.
Enjoy the nature of the oldest National Park in the world by hiking the hill, mountain and spend a night in the hide (bumbun)
The jungle is actually older than Amazon Brazil. It is worth going. You will have chance to see many types of wild animals.
There's a lot to see and do, catered for those that wish to be adventurous or wish to relax surrounded by nature
Teman Negara in itself is not much of a town but the people are friendly and the local food is cheap and good.
Boat trips are nice. Jungle palm plantation night safari is decent. do not expect to see many wild animals
A basic city geared towards adventure tourists. Only go here when you are planning for adventure tours.
Nature at it best but best to go in group. Need to be prepared for the long drive from KL to the park.
Nice place for hiking. Not much to see in terms of animals. Still, great place for a quiet getaway. :)
Mutiara hotel is the best choice to stay. My kids love Canopy walk & night jungle trecking the most.
