La Laguna is a must to visit with its quaint old streets. The shopping malls are excellent, very modern.
There is plenty to see and do in this area.
Tenerife is a beautiful island with very helpful and friendly people. For a relaxing holiday you need to go to the south coast area around Candelaria.
For a lively holiday try Los Christianos playa de Americas type resorts. A trip up to Teide National Park is a must. For an eating experience go to the area around Guimar for a typical Canarian meal -fantastic. We love Tenerife.
We arrived Tenerife at first time 15 years ago, and we return every year. We like staying there very much especially in January when there is winter in Hungary.
Go to the southern part of the island, the weather in the northen part is not good, rainy. Visit Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz and go to Teide National Park.
A clean and vibrant place, very quiet area we stayed in which was what we wanted. All local restaurants are used by the locals which is always a good sign.

The island is most famed for it's highest mountain in the whole of Spain, Teide, which is volcanic and has several craters. It is 3718 metres high, and it is possible to get to the very top with a cable car.
It lost its identity, what a pity! Remove half of the appartments away and start to think on touristic strategy.
