"Cheers very comfortable and a wonderfully peaceful retreat. Easily accessible from the ferry and easy to get into the centre of Tekek village. The duty-free shops are close by and it's easy to get across to Juara for a day trip. Highly recommended. "

Paya Beach Spa & Dive Resort

"We been here for 6 days and 5 nites for celebrate my husband birthday. My husband got a suprise of birthday cake during our dinner at the coffee house from the GM of the resort, Mr Sentil and The Team. We flatten with the hospitality given by Mr Sentil and the team.. Normally, we got to ask the hotel for the arrangement of suprise for someone that we love on their or our spcial date rite? But this one, i totally not involved.. Mr Sentil and The Team did suprised me and my husband at the same time. With such hospitality, personalised service, initiative and friendly staff, i can say, this resort is full of gems.. For first time experienced of Tioman Island, i felt worth paying every penny spent.. Food is nice. Go for ala carte menu if u dont like the buffet. The price is resonable. Not expensive if compare to others Seafood restaurant such as Aunty Paya Seafood Restaurant located behind the resort. Beach Bar is good place to hang up and drink your beer till midnite. its cheap. Tioman is duty free island.. Last but not least, i give 10/10 to Mr Sentil and the Team.. Will definitely come back again soon.. "

Aman Tioman Beach Resort
Kampung Paya,Tioman Island - View on map
"Being located in Paya Beach, this would be the best place to stay. New, nice, clean and food was tasty. Also, the facilities in and outside the resort is easily available. Snorkeling trip can be booked just right in-front of the resort (Mbeling), duty free is just 2 mins walk away, tasty chinese food (cheap as well @ Aunty Paya Restaurant) and ATV bookings at Paya Beach Resort Activity counter. We had a great time here at Aman Resort. The pool was just right next to our unit. You can snorkel around the jetty but its better to take a snorkeling trip to Coral Island and Renggis Island as there are more things to see. We saw a 4 footer shark at Renggis Island and huge Moray eel at Coral Island. Will definitely come back again."

More about Tioman Island

Tioman Island certainly a popular part of Malaysia's east peninsular coast. It attracts an eclectic mix of city folks from Singapore, backpackers making their way through the beaches of Southeast Asia, and scuba diving enthusiasts. Almost everyone can be sure to find something exciting about this region.

It's possible to fly directly to Tioman Island from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, arriving at the small Tioman Airport. Most resorts can arrange transfer services to get their guests from the airport to their accommodations. Otherwise, the best way to reach Tioman is by ferry from Mersing, which is a well-connected city on the mainland.

While most of the accommodation in Tioman Island consists of bungalows and budget hotels, there are some higher-end resorts at Terak Beach.

While Terak beach is most accessible, there's just as much to see and do at Juara and Salong beaches. Both have dive shops that offer certification courses and comprehensive scuba tours. Less intensive snorkeling trips transfer tourists to remote beaches with shallow coral reef, satisfying ways to get out and enjoy the clear waters.

Away from Tioman Island's beaches and resorts, the local landscape changes. Inland treks reveal jungles and mountains with a commanding view over rustic chalets and coastal villages. These remote hotels in Tioman Island are perfect for backpackers or budget travelers who see the value in working out their own dinner arrangements and mixing with locals.
