Yogyakarta hotels & places to stay

That was my best and favorite homestay until now. The place is really beautiful and the hosts are the best! I enjoyed the chats with Andreas, we played guitar together and he made me a great time there. It's a shame that I was just for one night there... I highly recommend to visit them! I definitely will come back for a longer time. :)

I stayed here for 4 nights with an affordable price, if you don't mind sharing a room and toilet with others then this place is a great deal. Just walking distance from Malioboro Street, the environment is safe and the owner is very friendly. I would stay here again if I come back to Yogja!

The place is nice, really good feeling since the begaining. Swimming pool,chill area,friendly staff,,really good vibe place. I booked the hammock,and the hammock space its a little bit hot because no fans,but you have your own plug and WiFi it’s quite fast. Location it’s a little bit far from the city center,but ok for that price. Really close to Warung Lotek Pak Mul,an small street food place where you can try the best Lotek (Gado Gado) that I ever tried in Indonesia. You can search it on google by that name.

I stayed at the dormitory room. You get what You pay for. Even though price is cheap, they didn't gave cheap service. Staff was really helpful. You get very basic things like bed with pillow (no blanket, unnecessary because room wasn't cold at all), room with fan, small locker, bathroom with only cold water (weather was quite hot when I'm there, I don't think you will need hot water). this place got a very good value for money. Quite environment, but remember this place is not really close to city center or main tourist destination. Good choice to crash for a night or twoo. For me this place is 8.5/10

Pros The staff and managers are really awesome and so helpful. They truly know how to make you feel like family and also help to arrange all the things u need. They also encourage the guest to have dinner all together and is the best time. Cons. Toilet could be improved but is ok.

AMAZING staff AMAZING vibes AMAZING natural setting If you’re looking for a chill, welcoming place with staff that is simply the best, go to Jawajiwa. I intended to stay in Yogyakarta for only two days and stayed 5 - the location is so lovely with the rice paddy fields and the staff made me feel so welcome and I can happily call them friends. I can’t wait to come back and visit them. Much love to you all! I don’t want to leave!!

Location is good; a few minutes with scooter to the center; food and bars around the corner. Cubicles are very large compared to other hostels and have 2 to 3 power outlets and AC. Staff (Manumpak) is very nice, gets to know every person staying at the hostel, offers help and even food sometimes. Small locker for your valuables. Free water, coffee, tea and some toast and fruit for breakfast. Shower didn't have hot water and low pressure and floors in bathrooms are always wet (this appears to be very common in Indonesia), but for this price I would certainly recommend!

I stayed at Yogyakarta Bnb for three nights and had a great time. Everyone was really friendly when I arrived and the people i shared the dorm with were great. The outdoor shower is amazing and the breakfast is incredible - best breakfast I’ve ever had in a hostel before - and also better than most breakfast that you can buy!! Would definitely stay again! Lovely little hostel!

I do really enjoyed staying 3 nights at Rumah Panjaitan during in yogyakarta, it does Feels Like Home!! the hosts clearly so nice and helpful. Shout out to da free breakfast that help me and my friend getting ready before went out!! Thankyou Rumah Panjaitan :):)

We have been having issues with all I’ve our accommodation while in Yogyakarta and we came across this homestay and fell in love with it and the host. They were only able to accommodate us for 1 night but helped us find more accommodation. They are absolutely amazing.

Home-stay is not in a city center which makes it a perfect place if you want to escape busy city life. Garden is beautiful, full of flowers. It was such a relaxing place. Motorway is not far away, so occasionally during a silent night you can hear some cars as a background noise, but not as loud to bother your during a sleep. Staff was nice and helpful with any request. They even did our laundry and rented a scooter for additional very acceptable fee. Room was clean and no mosquitoes during dry season.

It was an unplanned visit to Jogja. Found this hostel through Agoda. The room looked spacious and clean from the photos and it's actually real. The place is huge and modern. I booked 3 nights there. I arrived with Grabike late at night and the reception was still open. The lobby is huge where you can find desktop free for use, toilet, musollah and smoking zone. During registration, they'll need your passport and IDR50K for card deposit. They'll give you door card, breakfast coupons, a small towel and a blanket. They sell basic amenities with cheap prices as well and drinks. You also can rent a bike from the hostel. The 6 bed dormitory room I booked is not cramppy. Each room has a toilet with bidet and a shower. There's a free locker for each guest and that's where the power plug is if you wanna charge your phone. The room is equipped with AC but it's not strong enough during the day. But Yogyakarta isn't that hot during the day (if compared to Bangkok). For this cheap room, you'll get a simple, free breakfast every morning. The menu is changed everday and if you're a toast person, then you can order it for free the day before. You also can order a few other things later for a small amount of money. There's a new and cozy bar that serves local and western food. It's a nice place to hangout and smoke. This hostel is usually full with local travellers. If you like to know more Indonesian culture and interact more with the local you should come here.

Our stay was just fantastic. The beds were comfortable and only in Venezia did we get proper sleep during our whole trip in Indonesia. The bathroom was spacious although the bathroom lock didn't work, that was a non-issue for us. What we really appreciated most though are the tours we booked from them - afternoon tour to Prambanan and whole day tour to Borobudur and Dieng Plateau. The driver for the Prambanan tour was courteous, friendly and have good communication skills. The person who drove us around for Borobudur and Dieng Plateau was, I believe, one of the owners of the homestay and he seemed like a very intelligent and friendly person. He was surely knowledgeable of the area and even went out of his way to make sure we make the most out of our 2 days in Yogyakarta. Though not included in the tour package, he took us to a local eatery upon request since we wanted to eat in a cheap place run by a local. He also took us to a local grocery store where we found excellent but cheap Indonesian tea and coffee to bring home. He also directed us to the nearby Monggo chocolate store and there we found super delicious hand-made Indonesian chocolates that were a hit in my office. Since we've accumulated quite a lot of souvenirs, he also gave us a box and a roll of tape so we could pack everything properly. In short, we were really pampered. Venezia Homestay is located in a quiet neighborhood and is just around 30 minutes from the train station and airport considering traffic. It is also walking distance from attractions such as Taman Sari and Malioboro street (where great shopping bargains await). Venezia also has a small pool that can provide just the refreshing swim needed after a whole day of touring in the hot weather. In short, my friends and I definitely recommend Venezia Homestay when you are travelling to Yogyakarta!

i stay at casa raffles hotel for 3 night when school holiday started. you know yogyakarta is well known for lack of hotel room supply in school holiday. i had difficulties booking hotel room a month before holiday in one of my favorite yogya hotels (ibis, mutiara, rumah boedi). so, i booked a junior suite at casa raffles. when first arrive i was dissapoint a bit because there is no car park , there is only garage that can only fit 2 cars. so the last day i stayed i parked the car on the street. actually this place is famous for backpacker, it is a big house converted into backpacker hostel. but they have 4-5 junior suite rooms. the room is what supprise me, it is big and the bathroom is enourmous! the size of bathroom is 4x10 meters. the location is also great, 10 minutes walk to malioboro, and you can also go to kraton yogya walking because it is near (cut trip via small road). becak, food stalls are everywhere!!

everything went pretty good except mosquitos at night time. I was bitten by mosquitos everyday I stayed there. Staffs were really nice and helpful. The place is not far from tourist attractions in the city. You can walk to the Taman Sari or the Palace of Yogyakarta within 20mins.

We arrived late at night, when there is no staff at the hostel but they have a really cool system that feels like you are playing treasure hunt, which was adorable. Read the card in your room as it provides great information related to the town and food options. We tried 5 restaurant options in the list and all were amazing. Fitra, one of the staff, was just a great person and so caring. He helped us with navigating the city and finding sim cards. He often asked how we were a d greeted us with a wide smile every time. If he offer your, let him make you coffee, it's the best coffee I've had in Indonesia so far. Thank you Fitra! Fitra also cleaned the entire hostel everyday, it was really clean. I hope the owners read this and see how great of a staff they have! The hostel has a clean and sleek atmosphere which is modern and relaxing. There is a small kitchen with stove and fridge that tje guests can use and a place to chill and hangout as well.

The staff at this homestay were simply incredible. Some of the kindest I met in Indonesia! Very helpful for anything! Knowledgeable about the city. Had good deals for Borobudur and Prambanan tour. The place is very artistic with nice paintings and wood carvings. There even was a fish pond that would eat your feet's dead skin. Breakfast was simple but still enjoyable. Slices of a fruit and toasts. Only complaints would be a lot of ants in the room which I believe bite. And a bed that can fall appart. Staff was very helpful with both and managed to solve both issues. WiFi was bad in the rooms and alright in the common area, which was a common phenomenon for all my stays in Indonesia. This was a cool place to stay and had a unique vibe that made the experience very enjoyable!

They staff are very nice though they have little English but they understand you and helpful. I was constantly ripped off around the town but they offered to be with me with i need to go out and they do help to get it on local price. If i will go back, i will still book at this hostel

I have booked room with double bed, but they provided room with two single beds. After claiming they changed room. Receptionist helped to rent motorbike and provided guarantee, so no needed deposit for motorbike. It's worth it.

Via Via is a place where you can feel at home while knowing that you are supporting the local community. The place is basic, but there are small details that make it unique. The staff is extremely helpful and organized, and the place is clean and peaceful even though it is located in a busy street in Yogya. The activities they organize are a wonderful and easy way to explore the area, but you could also do it on your own for a lower price.

Area: Less than a hundred meters from the homestay, this property sits on a wonderful local area full of cheap warungs and vibrant small coffee shops, with convenience stores, a pharmacy, and a supermarket nearby, and a modern mall 10mins away. Really local. Homestay: Fairly large rooms for the price paid. The rooms have good working AC, wonderful water pressure with adequate hot water supply. The rooms have cable TV which I didn't bother using. Plug adaptors can be asked for, but better bring your own. The pillows and the linens are very clean and sweet smelling and you really can see the care these owners put into the bedroom. No in-room sink, but you can manage. Facilities: Common fridge, kitchen, but when we were there, there was hardly anyone using it except us. So kudos. Staff: Really courteous and helpful staff. No loud noises, which made us circumspect of ours. No curfew, so yay! GoogleTranslate will be your friend. Stay Again? YES!!

lokasi deket bgt sm taman sari,alun alun kidul kalo pake sepeda mtr ya ga jalan kaki , menurut aku worth it bgt dr segi harga sm yg apa aku dapat. dan dideket penginapan ini keluar dikit belom kiri ada angkringan murah enak drpd di maliobor ya hehe

kebetulan kamar dpt di lantai 2 dekat pompa jd aga berisik ketika tidur kebersihan oke, lokasi ke malioboro ga terlalu jauh, breakfast gagal kurang enak, kebersihan oke cuma masih ada beberapa debu, air panas cepet habis

The room is small but clean..the price is cheap and good for backpackers..the staff are friendly..the towel provided is small and smelly..toilet is clean..free breakfast either instant mee cup or toast as well as tea/ coffee is provided even though when booking it stated no breakfast provided.The location of the hotel is just few minutes walk to Malioboro street. Overall, i like this hotel due to the price, clean, friendly staff and its location.

I had hectic tour schedule and only two days to cover Yogyakarta. Chose Cabin Hotel near the Malioboro street, and this cabin hotel was close to Malioboro Mall. The hotel staff was good, I checked in late, but the room was ready as I reached my hotel. The staff immediately showed me the clean small room with A/C. To Sum it up the stay was good, and I was able to cover Borbodour and Prambanan temples as per my plan ;). Would recommend this cabin Hotel to my friends as the amount I spent seems to worth.

The best stay we've had so far! The room is so beautiful and so many cute details. The owners make you feel like you are home. The breakfast was really delicious. Everything was perfect, the best stay! Totally recommend
