The trip to Zermatt by train is spectacular. But if that is not enough, this experience is surpassed when one takes the train or cable cars to the peaks and is exposed to a visually intoxicating 360 degree panorama of the Alps.
The area is full of activities to satisfy the passive tourist or those seeking more extreme pursuits. It has something for everyone. Zermatt has plenty of luxury item shops but coming from a shopping destination myself this was of little interest to me.
Zermatt was a country side township with great natures surrounding. Wordless to describe the natures.
Worth to go there and we will come again.
Zermatt is my favorite place!!! I want to live there!! :) It is awesome, beautiful and extra ordinary!
I like this place so much. During a night, it's so peace full and protected from motorist make the place go green.
All the area can be accessible by walking distance and enjoyable moment with the nice mountain view
When you close your eyes to think about Switerland, Zermatt is what you see. It is a MUST. Take the rail to visit the Matterhorn and hike down.
I had a sprained ankle and made myself endure it. It was magical. I was a solo traveler and will be visiting Zermatt again (with friends or loved ones) to relax but also be adventerous. TONS of outdoor activites to enjoy. Amazing.
We only went to see the Matterhorn, so a couple of days was plenty for us. Also very expensive, but is is Switzerland! Great time though.
Zermatt is a car free village and it is the place to visit if one wants to ski n the winter time (starting from mid Nov) or hiking in spring to autumn time.
As in most tourist attractions, cost of living is high. If you can cook and stay in an apartment, it will help to cut down the traveling expenses. There is a low season when a number of shops and even hotels are closed while waiting for the skiing season to start. This is usually in Nov to mid Dec 14.
Zermatt is one of the nicest place in Switzerland, one of the only place where you can see the Matterhorn (Cervin) from the town.
The village is very nice, there are plenty of restaurants and shops in the town. Zermatt is also a great place to hike and ski. You can stay in traditional style hotels or in the fanciest ones with very modern design as Zermatt offers all type of accommodation.
A small town near Matterhorn mountain. It is a very convenient place to stay if you plan to go to Matterhorn.
Zermatt is wonderful place where I can always go back to since I live in Switzerland. The air is just so fresh and comfortable with its cool breezes.
The village people are friendly as tourism is the main busines. The Matterhorn is a beautiful mountain with unspeakable attraction, hence to walk around in the mountains is simply a fantastic experience. The network of cable cars is well developed and can take you anywhere. The main street is full of shops and restaurants, nevertheless, mostly sports articles, watches and jewellery. If this is your interest, then there are plenty of choices concentrated in one street. During this stay, we had a great time in a bar-lounge-snacks place called Gee's with live music from 3 singers who sang and played very well.
Im very impressed with the mountain which is very unique and beauiful. If you came to Switzerland, you cant miss this mountain.
One the best places for children and beginners to learn how to ski is at Wolli Park near the Sunnegga station.
This beginner’s park is easily accessible to all and is set in a wonderful location
The city itself is relatively small and you can walk throughout the city. Since we went there in mid-September, it was less crowded, which is nice.
As long as there is Matterhorn, this city is a must stop.
It's a beautiful city, relatively colder than other parts of Switzerland . Friendly people, free of pollution with beautiful sight seeing
it's beautiful city. with mountains view surrounding the city. Lots of sport and leisure activities. I bet it will be full during winter (we visited in summer)the fact that this is car free city, has given the freshest air we ever experience
Too many electric trucks and cabs, driving too fast and.... rude. These small vehicles and your visitors on foot, do not mix well.
The carts need to be restricted to slower speeds, kept off the busy shopping areas and, in all cases, the pedestrian has the right of way. Seems it is currently the other way around.
A very environmental-friendly area. I saw a very splendid firework of the national holiday at the balcony of my hotel.
chocolate taste good and cheap. a lot of shop selling swiss made watch, but just take note it might expensive then other country like Italy or France.
I bought 2 swatch watch I regret when I found out it was cheaper in Paris.
The city is full of tourists as it is a transfer to the mountain. You can take cable cars for the perfect view of the mountain ranges.
Food are tasty and environment is perfect for taking a relexing trip. Highly recommended.
