We really liked our stay here. Staff were super friendly and had a great diving course! Little paradise!
Hotel view awesome!!reception so so,i have to wait for my room to be ready just because im booking last minute. This hotel has 2 different area called east wing and west wing..most of the room situated at the west wing but the reception counter situated at the east wing so u have to walk along the jungle about 6minutes when u want to check in n out because all the boat will sent and pick u up on the east wing. Luckly the room and toilet is clean.the food, either u order ala carte or buffets taste good and all the staff is very friendly, understanding and helping a lot. If u like a peace and relaxing hotel, this is an ideal hotel. They do not have alot of entertaiment.U can see the seeview from your room.hotel serounding also clean.
Secluded Resort ”
Stayed on the executive deluxe room. Prefer this resort to chill than other 2 resorts in the island. Other 2 resorts is quite commercial and good for other activities like diving. The food is reasonably priced and the place is clean. The beach is secluded but not that big.
Nice breakfast & beaches though some of it full of dead corals (west side). Pantai Batu Kuching (turtles hatching area) is highly recommended for those who needs a little privacy. Got small hammock there. Perfect getaway for scuba divers + beautiful corals. Will definitely come back if time permits
Please read this if ur coming here. ”
Its about 45 mins boat ride from Merang (1 hour drive from KT) It is expensive, but its expected as its a resort in the sea. Overheads are expensive. The resort is in a forest like area. Insects are obviously expected. If you dont want insects, try the st regis is kl. Food is expensive, yes, but amount given is generous. The marina pasta is awesome. 28rm. 5 big prawns. Squid etc. Chicken wings 18 rm for 5 huge complete wings. Lovely salt water pool. About 1.7m deep at the west wing. Easy access to a beautiful clear water beach. Only annoying thing is each room had no tv nor wifi. Maxis had no data service. Digi had intermittent service. One common tv at west wing restaurant. Wifi only at east wing. West wing no Internet. I would recommend this place if you are coming in a group of friends for drinks, snorkeling etc. Bring board games, and canned food if you are staying more than 2 nights.
Very relaxing place that is out from the digital world”
The scenery (beach and jungle) is wonderful, vert relaxing and back to nature. Staffs are generally friendly and helpful (Especially one gentlemen worker at the West Wing restaurant). The room condition is neat but slightly old in terms of facilities. If you are looking for a retreat that is back to nature and out from the digital world, this place is definitely recommended.
D'Coconut Lagoon is a great place for a weekend holiday or extended stay. It's located right on the beach. The staff were a delight and they helped us with keeping our planned activities in order. Would definitely recomend this place to friends and anyone else looking to visit Lang Tengah.
Nightmare boat trip”
On the way back the small boat was overloaded: 13 adults one of them at list 150 kg, plus 2 children, plus boatman, plus luggage. Several times the boat almost capsized. It was really scary, and 50 minute journey became a nightmare. Management didn't pay any attention of the safety of their guests. The way back completely spoiled our impressions.
Mosquitos, Bed bugs, Good looking sea”
The resort was full of mosquito and it is keep disturbing you and your children on the dining area! The surrounding of the hotel has not clean properly and you can see numbers of construction/maintenance items were throw every way at the backyard almost every hotel! The worst things was the bed bugs and o had been attached during my stay! Initially i was thought that is the mosquito bite over the Bar of the hotel (Your drink the beer and the mosquito drinking your blood!!) but until i had been told by my doctor that will be the bed bites. Definitely will not back to this hotel!
This is a fantastic hotel. It is well run by a professional and friendly team, the location is second to none with the most gorgeous view of white sand and blue ocean, and the hotel pool and beach bar are really nice. I stayed at the Sari Pacific Lang Tangah, before deciding to give D'Coconut a go - and if you have to choose between the two I would definitely pick D'Coconut because it is a lot cleaner and the facilities are a lot nicer. We stayed in the Western wing of the resort, which is where the main restaurant, beach bar and bungalows are. The Eastern side is a bit quieter, and the dive school is located here. You can easily walk from the Western to the Eastern side in about 5 minutes. I would definitely stay here again.
perfect for a peaceful and relax trip”
Hotel staff are very helpful when you need anything from them. The best part of the trip is the quiet and private beach that the hotel offer. The sea was clean and beautiful. The hotel offers cheap snorkeling program for customer. The only issue is the accessibility to the island, otherwise this is a fantastic place to chill and enjoy the sun!
Nice place but overpriced”
D'C is split over 2 areas – the West Wing is 3 min/300m walk over a low saddle (slope will only worry the VERY unfit) from East Wing. Each has a beach, pool & restaurant – there is not much difference except the East Wing had wifi (patchy reception) in its restaurant, a better breakfast & inferior pool/beach. Snorkeling off both was pretty average although the snorkeling trip accessed good stuff. Our Executive Deluxe room above the West Wing restaurant had nice pool & beach/sea views. It was clean, spacious, had quite aircon, a comfy king bed plus a single & a divan, a jug but no tv. Lights were ok & there was plenty of storage. No bottled water was supplied. The spacious bathroom had good hot water & a tub. Food was expensive compared to similar places in the Perhentians. Like them the place seemed to be suffering from end of season run-down even though early/mid Sept is a long way from Oct– many menu items were not available. The inclusive buffet was similarly limited – we had no fruit over 3 days – but it was possible to fill up on pretty tasty food. Another problem of visiting when there are few guests is that we came out in the hotel’s small outboard boat rather than its bigger cruiser– the sea breeze had kicked in on this day making the 45 minute trip bumpy & wet. D'C is located on the island’s south west. Less than a minute further west is a longer one dominated by the more budget Lang Resort. A short jungle walk from Lang's western end accesses Long Beach where Sari Pacifica & the popular Summer Bay are located. This beach was whiter and wider & had quiet good snorkelling at the west end including the interesting blue coral. D'C's biggest contention was value - $us135 for a nice but essentially lower-midrange room, expensive food with limited choice and an uncomfortable transfer is not balanced by the gorgeous location & exceptionally nice staff. The price is maybe 3 times that paid at similar standard Perhentian resorts.
Best family holiday every1”
Our stay was amazing! I booked two rooms for a family holiday with my siblings (all in our late 20s) and parents. We had such a great time here. It was super value for money, the island is simply divine, there is plenty to do if you want that, also plenty of comfy spots to chill out and relax as well. We all had so much fun. The restaurant serves pretty standard food - don't expect anything amazing, but it certainly serves its purpose; the bar is well stoked and doesn't get noisy, but is still a lot of fun. The staff are incredible - super friendly, and they made a big deal of my birthday which is always nice. I would (and have) highly recommended this to anyone - best family holiday we've ever had!
Best resort in Lang Tengah”
It is the best resort of the whole lot at Lang Tengah, which is also due to the fact that there isn't really many good choices. The manager was very helpful in facilitating our stay and also booking our bus tickets on land. The beach and sea water quality in front of D'coconut's West Wing was also better compared to the more expensive Sari Pacifica. The only snag there is that D'coconut has very few sun decks, and they were all dominated by Swedish guests who reserve them by putting their towels and disappearing for hours. I think the management should do something about this. We admittedly booked the better rooms in the West Wing, so we had relatively few problems but our neighbours upstairs had no water at some point. If you are a lone female guest or even if you are 2 female guests without male companions, beware of the 'tour guides', be especially aware of this be-spectacled Malay guy who does the night 'blue sand' tours and the day-time snorkelling tours if you have a daughter or soemthing. This is nothing new in Bali's Kuta (watch this documentary called Bali cowboys) where the boys go for caucasian ladies. But in those cases the caucasian ladies like them. Not in our case though. This aspect of the resort I feel really tarnished our holiday experience. We want to be left alone as normal resort guests. We would rather they respect us as resort guests and only provide the services we pay for.
A few days in paradise..”
The location of D'Coconut is hard to beat - on a tropical island surrounded by very accessible reef. I spent all 3 days snorkeling, and saw huge numbers of fish and coral - it really is a tropical paradise. The resort is surrounded by beautiful jungle, the pool is lovely, and the resort itself well-maintained and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was good (although I ate local dishes so can't really speak for the Western style food). It is not a super luxury resort but if you want a few days in paradise with a comfortable bed to relax on and a nice little balcony overlooking the sea and pool complex, this is for you. I definitely want to go back again.
Fantastic little hotel in a great location ”
From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel welcome. Simple things like giving us their names and a person to contact directly if we needed anything. Hotel is as pictured. The views and proximity to the sea and beach are as well. Maybe because it was off season and our was the only hotel open we had deserted beaches with virgin untouched (no footprints) sand. Maybe a little less so when the other 3 hotels open up.
Paradise island! Good little resort”
we had a cabana which was really nice. food at the restaurant well prepared and tasty, even buffet was good and really price worth. diving better than expected and snorkelling is great just of the beach. good staff and very hospitable. prepare to meet varan-lizards just outside your bungalow :) great beach and two other resorts on the island if you want to eat elsewhere.
D'Coconut Lang Tenga”
We loved the fact that Lang Tengaah was a small intimate island and that D'Coconut was small enough to be intimate enough but large enough to provide all necessary amenities and good service. Sunny Boy at the bar was a great cocktail master and he was happy to play our music which made us feel at home. I was reluctant to go swimming in the sea because i was bitten by the fish several times.I liked that there was 2 areas to swim.
Love the beach in this hotel”
The beach and the exterior design in this hotel were great! The stuffs all are super friendly and even guide us the way to the other beaches. What's made me disappointing is the condition in our room . The lamp in balcony and head lamp beside bed were spoiled. The shower head also spoiled, and it covered with plastic. Previously the room didn't clean up nicely, i had a rusty kettle with water. Some rubbish in the dustbin. Air-cond did not works well, may take some long time only can have some good air. I hope that they will going to upgrade this hotel and keep well maintenance.
Expensive for low standing”
The hotel is getting old, we had a deluxe executive room in the west wing, there were holes in the ceiling, lights not working, the blankets are super old, invasions of ants, the pool tiles need maintenance, the food is average local street food... Honestly we were very disappointed considering the price. That being said, the staff was friendly, and the island is so beautiful that it saves the experience. The private beach on the West wing is really quiet and nice. And the dive center is just perfect, super clean and good equipments with great maintenance, run by Kit, super friendly and nice dive master, definitely the highlight of the week-end ! Beware of sandflies, I got pretty badly bitten, requires a specific repellent, mosquito spray don't work on it.
