Beijing - Dong Jiao Min Xiang Hotel”
In the middle of the city, walking distance to Forbidden City and Tianamem Square. Short Taxi ride to shopping and restaurants. English speaking staff. Strong heater (came in December. Fast internet connection.
Great Location and extremely friendly management”
The hotel was undergoing renovation while we were there. There was no discomfort in the rooms. However, half of the lobby was not accessible. The management did everythign possible to make our stay pleasant.
Great location with very clean room”
The staff is friendly and they will show you the direction to the place you wanted to go, but they are too busy at their counter of time due to lack of man-power. Therefore has to be patient if you want to seek for direction from them.
small nice hotel”
Small nice place with rooms to any taste: from budget to executive. It is situated within walking distance to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, and Beijing's most famous downtown business and commercial area, Wangfujing Shopping Street.Internet speed is low. The staff were very helpful.I would recommend Dong Jiao Min Xiang Hotel for people who prefer traveling for reasonable prices.
Quiet & Comfort Hotel”
It's really a pleasure to stay at this hotel. the location is good and really nearby the beijing attractions. Forbidden City on 20 mins walk, the wang fu jing only 15 mins walks. take 10 mins taxi with you can reach tample of heaven.
Nice to stay”
The Dongjiao Mingxiang met my basic requirements of clean sheets, clean towels and hot water. The room was fairly contemporary and the breakfast excellent with a variety of western and Chinese dishes; however, the internet was only free in the lobby. The location was decent - it was only about a 15-minute walk to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City...
Review of Hotel ”
Although hotel staff at hotel's front desk are quite friendly and helpful and eager to please, the front desk needs to improve English language proficiency, since the hotel is located in a great location with international tourists using the hotel. Overall, the hotel is excellent, and the language issue is the only problem.
Language difficulties but clean and near of main ”
Definitely if We go to Beijing again we could stay there if they have English speaker front desk and business center . It is not too expensive for their clean rooms. Free internet but not in the room. It is comfortable be and clean bathroom. Sometimes you felt they were angry at you and their voice tone was not right but that could be cultural. Beside they could be helpful if the guest speak chines.
Overall we are happy with the hotel that we stay in, it is reasonable for the size & price in Beijing. Just that we find that the hotel rooms water a bit dirty. And we even found mosquito in the room despite cold weather.
Very convenient location Great value”
Good Location, walking distance to the main tourist attractions and Metro station. Rooms are very clean and staff is very efficient and english speaking. Hotel can also organise local tours amd tours to great wall which is very convenient. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. Room prices are very resonable. Will definately be staying there again.
Economical and pleasant stay”
The staff desk was quite helpful and they can understand English very well. Room was clean and quite spacious. I had 2 single bed-room. The extra points are the proximity with tiananmen and any other tourist attractions.
DongJiaoMingXiang is quite OK considering the fact that it is in the middle of everything. I said middle, as in it is not VERY near to everywhere nor is it very far. I would not suggest staying there for winter especially if you want to either walk to WangFuJing for shopping or food because it is going to be chillingly cold. Nonetheless, it's also not very near to Forbidden City but it's walkable. In fact, everywhere in Beijing is reachable except for Great Wall. We got a ride from the hotel to Great Wall for 600 Yuan which i think is pretty cheap considering that they don't do headcount calculation and he drove us to 3 places in total. If you're thinking of going there, do find a place exactly right in front of WangFuJing so that you're exactly where the hotspots are. Eg: Hilton@Beijing is right on the spot.
Comfortable stay in Beijing”
We could reach every famous touristic places in Bejing by taxi within about 20 yuan. You can reach metro stations for No.1 or No.2 in maximun 10 minites walk. You can also find verious cheap but wonderful tasted restaurants near this hotel. Big department store(Mordern style) or Traditional Markets are also in a near walking distance.
Dong Jiao Ming Xiang Hotel Stay Sep 09”
The location was great and the business room was very good except like most Chinese hotels the beds were hard as a rock. The hotel was good value for money. The service staff were very helpful. Taxis and buses were easy to get outside the hotel. The roads were a bit too busy at peak hour and certain times of the day. It was quicker to walk to Tiananmen Square or to the main road than to catch a taxi or bus.
Dong Jiao Ming Xiang”
Right in the middle of Beijing, very near (walking distance) to famous landmarks like Tianamen Square and Forbidden City. Near Pub Street, just about 10 min by taxi. Only problem is that there are no good restaurants which are walking distance from the hotel where you can. eat.
Good opportunity of a simple three-star hotel ”
Excellent Chinese restaurant above the hotel category to be really recommended.
The room was too small, without a proper cabinet for the clothes, the carpet was in bad condition with several stains, we requested for a no smoking room but we were accommodate in a smoking floor, there was no possible to change, definitely the English it is a disadvantage in China, and in this hotel was almost impossible to have a communication, at the service desk only 1 person was able to communicate but she was not always there, there was a “tourism desk” but the two persons there didn’t speak English, the food at restaurant was too expensive, ~$25 for a simple breakfast per person, in the meantime at Pizza Hut for ~$15 you can get a very good breakfast “full combo”.
Nothing fancy but passable”
Lumpy pillows, easy to get taxis, central location, toilet smells like pee but generally okay. Easy to get taxis. Good location. Staff cannot really speak mandarin but they assisted me in topping up my SIM card value. Wifi only in lobby. Rooms were okay for short stay - dark and dank.
Nice hotel in a safe area.”
nice hotel. a bit far from the nearest metro-station, about 10-15 min walk. but none the less, a good hotel in a safe area. close by was the police department building and the military department building. breakfast was a bit of surprise; lots of noodles and vegetables and warm food. less of bread, cheese, ham or jelly... on the downside; non smoking area only in small part of lobby and the lifts. the non smoking area in the restaurant, was on the other side of an see-through wall, which in reality meant; next table. the room was good, even though there was ashtrays in our "non smoking rooom"...? complementary water was refilled every day and theres was a small tray for tea or coffee.
Hotel just outside the heart of Beijing”
the room is generally clean. the hotel is also near several government buildings and a police station, so security in the area is good and i felt quite safe. take note that the wall socket does not accept 2 pin connectors and i had to use a dental pick to push the grounding pin in before i can push my 2 pin power plug in.
