Calm and peaceful resort with lots of greenry”
One of the best resorts I have visited in the recent times. This resort compliments the beauty of Kodaikanal. Situated nearly 20 kms away from the city, this place offers a lot to do. Rooms are really nice and cozy. Made of wood. Also made during British era. Lot of open space to roam around and take pictures. Has a water flowing nearby with Waterfall trek offered by the staff (paid). It has lounge area where you can play board games or just hang out with your friends. The restaurant is also really good. Loved the breakfast. Dinner as well. The approach road to the resort is a little bit scary hence be prepared for a bumpy ride. Also try to reach here in daylight as the mobile network rarely comes. Enjoy the stay here. Very close to the nature.
Totally not worth the price & reality is totally different from the pics shown by hotel mgmt”
Stayed from 24th to 27th May'19 with wife n kid in Deluxe room. Hotel is located 8KM away from proper road n the approach is too dangerous with narrow n totally washed out road. There are no sign boards by hotel atleast to guide the guests. Wi-Fi limited to just the reception n no Wi-Fi in rooms. Even the mobile network is hardly avbl. We been given Deluxe room(Gangavar) totally shocked by the approach from reception to room. Pathway is damaged with no maintenance. First impression of the room, may be we have paid bit too much for 3 nights(20K) for this accommodation n the pics shown in the website are simply duping the guests. Bath towels are overused, torn n faded, totally didn't expect that. No curtains in room. Get used to having insects n bugs around you. There are rooms in the resort which requires almost 5min trek to reach. Too arduous to reach in nights with very poor lighting. Food is good though. Probably the hotel has taken closeness to wilderness a bit too far.
All the cottages are way too remote. Though few prefer that way. There are power issues and thia will lead to problem due to remoteness to reach the reception for any urgency.
A beautiful gem in the heartlands”
This amazing resort spreading across an area of 140-acres is an exemplary establishment of Kodaikanal. The very air, water and mud has the essence of the beauty of 'The Valley.' The property consists of various wild trees, bushes and organic farms and plantations with a private part of the river. Of the 18 vintage cozy cottages, there are few across the river for the adventurous guests. The river runs right through the middle of the resort, soothing your ears with the harmonious sound of the water trickling over the rocks every single second. The factor which makes a whole difference in your experience is the gracious, homely, caring staff. Of whom I would like to mention the liveliest staff Vinod and Rahul. Mr.Sujith who is the manager of the establishment was very helping instrumental making the experience memorable. The trekking, the food, services and the over
This hotel is far away almost 20 kms.from Kodaikanal city centre. No signboards except at one place to locate the hotel. Even there is no signboard in the hotel itself. Probably they have done this to avoid paying taxes to the Government. Road leading to the hotel is awful. We reached the hotel around 6 p.m. The staffs told us that our room is one km. away in the jungle. For dinner one has to cover half km. in the night. The roads inside the campus seems to be in fit even for trekking. No proper lighting along the roads. More so the landline number given in the site also does not belong to the hotel. I contacted in that number at around 2.30pm. regarding lunch but they refused by saying that lunch time is over. After reaching at the hotel when I asked about this unusual answer, the hotel manager told that the landline phone does not belong to them. The manager told me point blank that " Agoda people might be knowing what they are doing. The land line number also does not belong to them. He told that they have never received my call. Agoda is forcefully booking and sending people to this place." I was dumbfounded after listening to such unbelievable reply. We were two families having two booked rooms. No body was there even to carry our luggage. I am a regular customer of Agoda. I had never experienced such things before. At least if I get back my money spent for booking two rooms, I shall feel relieved of my worst experience. With regards.
Beautiful place which could be run a lot better”
I stayed there with a friend of mine. We had a really nice time and the place is very calm and beautiful so: Exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately the only activity which was offered by the Farm Lodge was a one hour track a few meters around the property of the place. A lot of items on the menue could not be prepared. The food which was available was really good though. To put it in a nutshell: The place is really nice but the service could be better.
bad roads good view average and costly food”
not for 1 night stay. good- lot of free space to play games. so stay for at least two and change rooms for different experience. bad- bad road no lighting no mobile network (little bit vodafone) travels charge high for this hotel. good if u travel on your own
Resort with meagre facility”
Had to leave the resorts one day ahead since we are not happy with it.rooms are totally misleading in your website when compared to actual. Food has to be improved. It is actually a forest .it has plantation in very meagre area , rest of the area is forest. Rooms and bathrooms are filled with insects even if the doors are kept closed.
insects in the room”
Not 12 km out of Kodaikanal button 24 km! Left the hotel after a sleepness night. Manager was ver helpfull. Never go there again ( and we werent the only ones ).going to make a serious complain.
Good Place to Idle Around”
Pros: Very good location with forest, streams and a waterfall - Very good to idle around Good Ambience in the resort with flora and fauna, bonfire etc Fine Food - Organic harvested from Kitchen garden (Though Less Options) Cons: Comparatively warmer compared to Kodaikanal (Had to get fan - We went during the peak of Summer - Apr 13 to Apr 17). Will be wonderful during other seasons - waiting to visit again during Rainy season when the streams will be full and can see the waterfall in fullswing Pathetic Phone Connectivity (this could be Pros too) Terrible Roads (around 10 kms - to say no roads would be better)
Beautiful location answered our expectations. Good food and staff.”
Hospitable stay ”
It has been more than a pleasant stay for us especially their hospitality. Very kind and helpful. Wish we had stayed longer. We were a group of 34 travelling for a 2 days stay. Coming from Singapore we found the place exotic yet modernised with their setting and cottages. Special thanks to Mr Suresh, manager for the hotel, who ensured our various demands were met.. waiting for another exciting stay at Kodaikanal Eco Elephanta Hotel.
love the place”
An amazing place and great staff!”
We enjoyed very much our magical stay in the Elephant Valley Eco Farm, it was relaxing and refreshing. The staff were friendly and a great company :) The cheff is really good and a great guy! I'm glad that there are places like this one in the world, it reminds me a place i've been in Sri Lanka. The only thing that bothers me personally are the leeches because they like me very much from some reason. But they have them only in the wet season. I would definetly come back and reccomand to others!
Great place to catch up with nature”
This place was really worth staying at, so much that it makes the rest of Kodaikanal boring! There is enough to do here for two to three days, you don't even need to step out of the place. The staff are very nice friendly and engaging. The rooms are clean, and the food is good enough to enjoy. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to live in a place which is slightly rustic (coffee plantation).
pleasant stay out of city”
To get to this place: 12 km before kodaikanal take a deviation towards palani. Follow the board of the farm to reach the place. Upon reaching: A very warm welcome by the staff with a welcome drink.. This drink is made in their own kitchen using their organic farm fruits. Staying: Very pleasant and serene. Try to book tent house, it's big and worth for money. If going with friends then plan to book based on whether you need rooms nearby or far. Food: Need to order 2 to 3 hours before. All the ingredients are taken from their organic farm. At last a very memorable stay. Planning to visit again.
Peace and tranquility in midst of the forest”
It was gorgeous. Very comfortable and tranquil. Food needs to be ordered a few hours in advance but is quite delicious. With the river flowing nearly and the vast forest... it makes for the most exotic getaway from city life. Though it's a slightly over-priced for the kind of lack-of-too-many-amenities... but I personally didn't regret paying the amount I did for the 4nights and 5days that we spent at Elephant Eco Farms.
Stunning beyond words, a little bit of heaven”
This resort compares to being in Africa purely because of the wilderness experience. Sound of the gushing stream, sounds of nature, being able to see a new born foal, milk a cow, simply walk under the dense canopy of stars... Food made of fresh organic farm produce. All this and lovely, warm, hospitable staff. This place has been a find for us and our 5 year old !
Elephants in the valley”
Beautiful peaceful location, only the the sounds of birds and the rushing of the river. Our cabin was fairly basic but had a wonderful shower. The restaurant is very good and the staff helpful and attentive. Elephants came into the garden during the night.
