Nice hotel but hard to reach”
Reaching the hotel from Bikaner is a challenge. You need your own vehicle or rent a taxi. Taxis are hard to find in Lalgarh where I arrived. I contacted Hari Travels in Bikaner who gave me a self drive. The hotel is very good. A palace in the forest in midst of a desert. It is value for money and do take the plan inclusive of the breakfast as it is worth it. Breakfast otherwise is very expensive and you have nothing nearby.
Excellent heritage property away from the busy streets of Bikaner”
An excellent choice if you are looking for a tranquil stay away from Bikaner. Just 30 kms outside Bikaner, we spent a couple of nights here in the last leg of our 15 day Rajasthan road trip. Location, facilities, food, staff, service - everything was top notch. Highly recommended...
Overpriced for quality offered”
Gajner Palace is always a delight.”
This is the second visit to Gajner - my husband, brother and I had visited last autumn, and this year my brother and his best friend went again, and came back just as thrilled as the last time! It's a large property with a lot of woodland and the lake right next to it, traditional Rajasthani hospitality, and far from the madding crowds... a perfect weekend getaway from Delhi for us work-exhausted folks. We drove to Gajner both times in our Honda Cr-V, and the roads are great, as is generally the norm in Rajasthan. The hotel is a bit on the expensive side, so look out for good discounts to get the best value for money.
beautiful heritage hotel”
I enjoyed my stay there though it was rather short but it was pleasant. the location was ideal for the perfect getaways from busy city. the air is clean. the food is nice . not to mention the room is clean and well maintained.
A wonderful Getaway Palace”
I loved it. We stayed 2 nights but I could have easily stayed 5 or more. I loved the sound of the birds and seeing the peacocks just walking around. Food and Drinks were a little pricey but we were prepared for that.
Quiet, nice heritage hotel”
It's a quiet and nice heritage hotel located 30min out of town. We very much enjoyed our stay there. Very good.
Palace in a beatiful location”
Gajner Palace is a beatiful historical building located in a park in the shore of a lake, close to Bikaner. The park is very nice, very well maintained, and the lake is beautiful, with many birds. Deluxe rooms are located in pavillions in the park, outside the main building (the Palace itself). Our Deluxe room was large, beautifully decorated in British colonial style, quiet and comfortable. The restaurant is good, although not cheap. We really enjoyed our stay in Gajner Palace. The only criticism is about one employee in the bar, who seemed to be interested in selling only expensive aloholic beverages.
Nice heritage property”
Pretty good for a short stay. Would have loved to stay more days to do additional activities..
Oasis in the desert”
awesome, wish could have stayed longer.”
never expected it to be so good. wish i can come here again and again. tranquil, close to nature, peaceful, heritage, all included in one. the staff makes you feel royal. never seen loads of 100-200 years old trees and a temple inside a hotel complex. at present tariff its a loot.
Peaceful. Enjoyed the silence of the atmosphere and birds voice.
Relax in an Oasis and go back in time”
Was very comfortable and pleasant. The meals were a bit pricey though, given that there are no other dining options
Relaxation plus plus.”
We stayed here for 2 nights - most people only stay 1 night to break their trip maybe from Jaisalmer to Jaipur. I loved it beause after a very hectic time in other cities it was wonderful to just do nothing in a very relaxing setting. If you were sick it would be the best place to recuperate. We had a huge airy room close to the lake - . It had a nice private sitting area outside as it was the furthest room from the rest. The staff were very friendly and eager at all times to assist with whatever. It is approx 40 km from Bikaner however. Some may find that an inconvenience if they want to spend time in another crazy city.
Hotel amenities are ok, located in a historical area with a large park and a terrace in front of a big lake. Room are poorly furnished, old-style, with bathroom being far from clean. Breakfast is very expensive for a couple of toasts and so-so local coffee Staff not friendly
Great location and excellent service with smile”
The location of the Hotel is Excellent and the rooms were Spacious. The staff was very helpful and had a smile always.Would definitely recommend it.
Lovely Hotel with excellent location”
I booked a suite with a good deal from Agoda, and it was lavish and simply awesome. We checked in around 3 PM and had plans to go to Bikaner City that day but cancelled it because we wanted to stay back in such a nice and peaceful location. Buffet breakfast had a live counter and the chef manning it was superb.
Beautiful old palace on a peaceful lake.”
Although the hotel was beautiful it was out of the way and very over priced. Prepare to pay more than double for the very average meals they serve there (there are no other good choices around). the restaurant staff seem very unhappy. The food was bland and missing the basic chutneys. I would expect a cappuccino machine at such a fancy hotel but there was only instant coffee like everywhere else in Rajasthan. Apart from the food the other staff were very helpful and friendly. A nice tough were the hot water bottles put in the bed at night. The water was hot and we had a bath which was lovely after a full days travel. The Gajner palace is truly beautiful and worth a visit.
