Over 50's only”
As a giant ad for the over 50's retirement village it is a success. As a family motel, it is satisfactory.

Disappointing”
Quiet, cleanliness and privacy
We had stayed here previously and enjoyed the peaceful location and modest comfort near a quiet caravan park. This time we found ourselves alone on the edge of a new retirement development site. The caravan park is disused, awaiting development, which was confusing to a couple of tourists who arrived in a campervan shortly after us. Our motel room was clean, the site was quiet and the grass was cut, but the motel office has become a real estate sales site. The state of the swimming pool and various buildings suggests that the signposted motel has ceased to provide hospitality. There were no staff on duty (just a phone number stuck to the door), even though we arrived before 5pm. There was no room service available and there is no restaurant on site. We managed because we had brought a few snacks in the car, the room had a kettle and tea bags and we were able to buy a few supplies at the Foodland supermarket back in Goolwa, which was open late. We enjoyed a very pleasant dinner on Hindmarsh Island. When there was a problem with power during the night, we sorted it out for ourselves. Next morning we headed off into town to seek breakfast, thankfully finding one café in Goolwa open for breakfast before 9am. We love the coast and have often stayed, but this was not a glorious example of hospitality and should no longer claim to be operating as a motel.

Hard to find ”
a bed for night
It was impossible to find, due to the fact it will become a Lifestyle Village for over 50's next year, there was no signs anywhere to indicate that Lakeside Lifestyle Village was the same place. I rang to find out if I got lost and I was told "No I don't have a booking for tonight"

Tired and Terminal”
1. There is very little hotel/motel asccommodation in Goolwa. 2. Friendly receptionist. 3. Water view with pelicans.
The Motel is due for closure in a couple of years and clearly is being minimally maintained til then. So the bathroom is very tired. While we were there the bathroom fan which was very noisy got even noisier then died. The kettle was too big to fit under the bathroom tap. The sheets and room were clean but there was a build-up of cobwebs between the bathroom window and the fly-screen. One towel each and a bath mat, no face-washers or handtowels and minimal bathroom provisions. Maybe that's what you get for $120 per night these days? There are no dining facilities.

Disappointed ”
Location Comfortable bed Clean Linen
Due to the fact that as found out later that the whole complex including the caravan park has been sold the units are very rundown. The restaurant is closed as with the lounge.
