Amazing Staff, Large Rooms & Great Location”
Located right on the edge of the Old Quarter in Hanoi, it is a great location to explore the area and enjoy all the tourist sights. Staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cook to order and was delicious. Enjoyed the stay very much.
Value for Money”
Big rooms, excellent staff and service, good breakfast, okay location. What travelers need to know is that this actually a building where the owners also live. The big rooms are a bit scary, my older kids had a hard time sleeping. The hotel closes at night, so when we first arrived, we got nervous thinking that the taxi got the wrong address... we knocked on the steel door and the staff who were sleeping inside with their mattresses on the floor opened up.
Old but friendly and clean”
Super friendly staff, great English. The rooms and furniture are a tad old but functional. The included breakfast was excellent! Louis of options including freshly made Pho. Located on the edge of the old quarter. I was on a high floor and the noise wasn't to bad.
Old Quarters hotel”
We stayed here in mid March 2019. The hotel is by the side of the highway bridge so there is a huge traffic noise. But turn the corner and walk 50 meters you are in the Old Quarter food streets. Close to places to see. 1) Ask for a room looking back 2) If you ask for a pickup from the airport ask the price several times otherwise they charge you 20 dollars. 3) They arrange car to the airport for 15 dollars. 4) or use GRAB (Uber)
Value for money”
Good location in Old Quarter but away from street noise. Our room was clean with a double and single bed. Bathroom only has a glass door though with tinted glass walls. Staff was polite and helpful. It’s about 30-45 minutes from the airport, depending on traffic. Our grab ride was 269,000 dong(about US12). Our grab app and credit card option didn’t work because the authentication code was sent to our personal hp but we had already changed to a local SIM card bought at the airport. So we paid in cash to avoid the hassle of changing SIM cards. The hotel has both western and local breakfasts which are filling. All in all, not a bad experience for a 3 star hotel.
Perfect location the place looks older in person but big rooms great staff really good breakfast and coffee and situated in the best part of old quarter
We had a lovely stay at Hanoi Old Quarter Hotel. It was in a great location, just around the corner from the action. The staff were very polite, professional and accomodating. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. We were able to leave our bags here overnight when we went on an overnight Ha Long Bay cruise. The chef was even able to make our breakfast "to go" when the mini bus came to pick us up earlier than expected (unusual for Vietnam, I know). They were so great and the food was delicious too!
Lovely staff but location is adjacent to a very busy section of motorway”
The rooms I had Hanoi Old Quarter were absolutely fine, although the bathroom in the family suite is probably due for an upgrade. The bed is huge and comfy and the wifi is great. Staff here are super helpful. I had to stay an extra night to accommodate my Ha Long Bay cruise and the last night was in a King Classic at the back of the hotel, which was very nice and quieter than the family suite (where I had to keep all the windows and shutters tightly closed to block out the sound and even that didn't work). The hotel is located right at the very back of the Old Quarter, which makes it easy to find, but I wasn't so keen on being so close to so much traffic. If I had to choose again, I would pick something closer to the lake.
Great staff and nice hotel, but too close to motorways”
I could not fault the staff here, they are super helpful and friendly, but the location really wasn't for me. Some people might like it, as it's right on the back edge of the Old Quarter, so easy to find your way to and from, but my room (family suite above reception), was on ear level with a busy motorway flyover and the noise of vehcile horns was pretty much incessant, day and night. I had both windows (double layer) and the outside shutters closed the whole time I was there, which meant no natural light in the room (and the noise still penetrated). Having said that, the room was huge and the bed was lovely. I stayed for four nights in that room (prebooked) and, to accommodate dates for my Ha Long Bay tour, an extra night in a Classic King room at the rear of the hotel (which was smaller but better in terms of noise). I really hate leaving negative reviews, but I regretted prebooking such a long period. This is nothing to do with the staff or the service, simply that the location was not good for me.
Will stay again”
Big clean room, near to places of interest (walking distance). With lots of street food and local things to buy. Room is big enough for 3 adults and 2 child. They almost wanted to charge us more cause the booking say for 3 adults. Make sure you put comments stating what room size u book for. Breakfast is nice but just not buffet style.
Explore Hanoi from a perfect location”
Room was spacious and clean. Staffs were friendly and helpful in arranging sight-seeing tours. Breakfast was yummy with local delights to choose from. Hotel is by the main road and easy for taxi to drop off and find. It was easy to get around and short walk to Lake Hoan Tiem and main tourist streets. Good food around the hotel too. Highly recommended.
Perfect location, value for money ”
Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Daily breakfast was provided, generous portions and pretty delicious too. The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful too, asked them anything and they were more than happy to assist. The hotel is located by the main road so makes it easier to find as compared to other hostels. Thank you for the memorable stay!
more than my expectaiton ”
I really enjoyed this hotel . I also feel very comfortable with the staffs . They are just so kind . The breakfast section is down stair at ground floor will be closed by 9 pm . THus i can not leave feedback for food here .
It was wonderful stay. The room was large and comfortable. The location was good; five minutes walk to the Lake and all the attractions nearby, walking distance of all the best restaurants the OQ offers. The staff were so sweet, attentive, friendly and helpful. Loved it!
Goog if on a budget”
Overall I liked the hotel. One must consider for a small amount and the kind of location in an old part of a city in Vietnam a lot of places are outright dumps. This hotel is family run and they could not do enough to help us. We priced the halong bay tours locally in travel agents and they were a lot more competitive. We got AClass opera tour for 110 us dollars and were very pleased with it. The rooms would have been very luxurious years ago but are showing age but were still clean enough to put up with. The air con was good as was the wifi. Breakfast was eggs on toast or fried rice. Plenty places to eat within minutes walk though. The only gripe that I had in the whole experience was that we both had to move room on the second night and as we were leaving the room they just re made the bed without changing pillow cases or sheets for the next customer!!! Nice place for 1 or 2 nights
The new Hanoi with the old charm”
The hotel is located about 20 steps away from the Old Quarter of 36 streets. The framed photographs of the Quarter and its neighborhood in the bygone years are elegantly displayed in the rear of the lobby where the breakfast is served. The stone stairway (to the second floor) and the beautiful wooden steps up to the 7th floor spoke well of the class and taste of the owner of the building which is now the hotel. Our room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable. An assortment of exotic fruits in a cute basket greeted us every day. The extra touches in the bathroom were heartwarming.
Amazing hotel :)”
Was here in Hanoi for the first time with my partner.. The location was great, the room was great. IT WAS SPACIOUS!! i dont even know what to do with the space!! haha. our room was amazing, we had balcony overlooking the road.. a little bit noisy but it doesnt bother me at all (im also a light sleeper) so all in all, this hotel is great.. really. book it.. NOW!! click boook. hehe :)
Centre, value, with noise issues.”
Not too far out from all the places you need to visit. The only disappointment is that it is by a busy roundabout and motorway/freeway junction and fly-over. The staff were wonderful, helpful and breakfast was good. However we left sleep deprived. Maybe a rear room is essential?
Staff were amazing!! ”
Staff were extremely friendly and they went above with our questions and suggestions. Would highly recommend! Can be a little noisy as it's in the old quarter and right off a main road but really wasn't to bad.
I booked a King Classic room but i was given a room about half size of the King Classic with only a very small window which cannot be opened. Talked to the front desk but they insisted that that the King Classic. Had to call Agoda to make a complaint.
