Very Homelike Feel”
I was checked into the hotel within 5 mins of arrival. Staff where super friendly and helpful. Facilities were very nice and rooms were huge. Very clean place. Breakfast spread was very good. It is maybe 5-10mins wals to Nagaworld but realized the surrounding area had no Convenience Stores nearby. Closest one was along St136. Will return to stay again with family
Part serviced apartment and part 5star hotel”
Great respite from the busy city. Had a junior suite which was massive, had a peek-a-boo view of the river. Low on in-room amenities (the old 'conditioning shampoo' ploy) but more than made up for that with huge breakfast buffet, pool, Nautilus gym, and helpful staff. Comfy, firm bed.
Great location and attentive staff”
:We were not picked up at airport as promised. The steam room in fitness center was working. There is only one restaurant with very little variety fTrom day day. It would have been nice to he fitness open 24x7. A/C fan would squeak at night so we have to turn it off. hey come to fix butit keep happening. Nice big roomand mostly have hot water for showr. Very kind staff.
Good value for money”
The hotel is one of the best in the area which offers great space with good value for money. The area itself is the best in the city for everything is readily available. Highly recommended for those travelling for a very short period of time.
As good as ever!”
We have stayed at the Himawari previously and were looking forward to our return. We arrived early and were shown to our room. We realised it was not the type of room we had booked so we called reception. No problem about changing but we'd have to wait. No problem though, we could just stay in that room for an hour or so. Tuktuk to town is only $2 and it's easy to walk from here to the palace, Independence Monument, street 240. We booked a car to pick us up at the airport - $12 for two people. Good value.
Great Hotel. Willing to Helpwith Sudden Changes”
We decided to stay at this hotel due to sudden emergency business situation within our company. We booked at the last minute and the hotel is willing to help out with the sudden changes after we arrived.
Luxury accommodations and great service”
this is a really nice place. service from everyone was great. helped me with transportation, phone calls, and visitors. only downside was that the restaurant closed a bit early for my tastes, especially since phnom penh is such a party town.
An architectural jewel on the Mekong”
Wonderful to stroll after dinner along the quay on the river. Hundreds of places to have dinner and hang out. Perfectly located near main offices of private business and government. Near main attraction (Royal Palace, Independence Monument). Great quality for price.
Great Location !!! Great Service!!!! Lovely People”
the hotel is located at the most vantage point in phnom pen (meeting place of tonle sap and mekong rivers) it is also facing the sisowath quay filled with bars, restaurants and clubs. it is also close to all major sights and markets. the two bedroom apartment was spacious and clean.the lobby is very beautiful with live music in the evenings. breakfast was ok. the staff were very courteous, accomodative, receptive and friendly. all in all a wonderful experience. will defenitely recommend.
Modern, friendly and great breakfast!”
the himawari is located at the far end of the sisowath quay but is an easy stroll to the royal palace, shops, restaurants and bars. the building was modern with a huge under used area in the reception but it did not feel impersonal and the staff worked hard to answer any queries. the room/suite had a small kitchenette with sink, fridge and microwave which we didn't use but would be a boon for a family. the breakfast was comprehensive with impeccable service. the pool was often overcrowded with nowhere to sit.
A trouble free stay. ”
i have stayed here many times and the staff are always helpful and polite. the facilities are great (pool and fitness) and a great breakfast buffet. the location is central for all business meetings or to tourist spots in phnom penh. room are very large and quiet (except on street facing side. i will stay here again.
Great location and good facilities”
the himawari is without doubt one of the best hotels in phnom penh. perfect location on the river, great facilities (gym, pool, tennis) and really friendly staff. the rooms are getting a bit old however and could do with some renovation. the room size is very convenient with lots of space and a balcony. also the breakfast here is excellent.
Perfect location and great features”
i know the himawari for many years, and i would still say that it is one of the best hotels in phnom penh. the location is great, at the confluence of 3 rivers, the facilities (like pool, gym, tennis ground) are excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. the rooms however tend to get a bit tired now after 7 years or so and need some renovation. the room sizes are very generous and satisfactory.
well appointed, big rooms, great facilities”
this is our fav hotel in Phnom Penh, have stayed 3 or 4 times over the years. the 2 bedroom suite thru agoda is great for families - kitchen, front loader washing machine, tvs in every room, dvd player - location on river is great - great pool and gym and tennis court to work off the cheap beer and great food in this city - great bfast and lovely waiting staff - young kids will love it
Grand Hotel on the riverside”
rooms at the himawari are a good size and the views from the rooms are impressive. it is a high standard hotel in an excellent location. it is very handy to the interesting attractions of phnom penh.
Great hotel, clean huge rooms, excellent location”
We enjoyed our stay at the Himawari tremendously. We arrived on a pretty late flight but found the hotel staff warmly awaiting our arrival. When we went to our assigned room on a low floor, we casually mentioned that we'd have loved a room on a higher floor. Not thinking that our comment would have been taken seriously, we started to unpack. Shortly after, we received a call from front desk asking if we'd like to move to a room on the 4th floor (the hotel only has 5 floors). We were so delighted we didnt mind the packing again. Although our room was not river-facing, we were given a room facing the beautiful Hotel Cambodiana grounds next door. This is just one fine example of the wonderful service we received. Breakfast was delightful -- a full international spread, with free capuccino/latte served on request! The hotel's fitness facilities are very good -- a great way to relax after a tiring day out. The hotel's location is near the Royal Palace, National Museum, FCC, the Kandal (local) market and yet far away eno from the noise and bustle of the riverfront area where all the cafes, pubs, restaurants are. It's a pleasant stroll every evening along the riverfront -- the locals come out in droves to just sit around, exercise, play games, do aerobics. You can even join them in their aerobics -- they come all seriously prepared, with amplifiers and giant speakers to draw whoever wants to join them.
nice hotel and service with a nice swimming pool”
for the price of the suite room i think its a bit over charged ! big room with an old TV with a view on the street not the river :( un fortunatlly problems with hot water! very good breakfast with many choices ! on monday they have some kind of a customers welcome party with free beer and wine and snacks + local girls dancing !
Great location, clean rooms, good breakfast”
We stay at the Himawari for two nights. We would have preferred a suite which overlooked the river. However, all in all, we had a pleasant stay and would definitely stay again if our travel plans permit. The breakfast was good and a large variety. The staff was friendly and helpful especially the staff when we had breakfast each morning.
It was definitely a pleasant feeling as we arrived at the luxuriant and inviting lobby of Himawari, having been used to relatively more modest lodgings in the past. Rooms (and toilets!) were very spacious and beds were comfy enough, the selection for breakfast was widespread and the restaurant overlooks the breezy riverfront. Pool was reasonably sized and nice enough but no idea why the water appears to be freezing cold even under the hot sun. Service was top notch as well, polite, helpful and having initiative as well. Even though its slightly pricier than most, i would recommend it to everyone looking for a hassle free trip!
The Himawari is a business oriented hotel. It is pleasant, and the executive apartment we stayed in was quite spacious, but completely lacking in decor. A little effort would be appreciated. We liked having the full kitchen. It's great to be able to store extra water and juice in the fridge. The hotel location was fine, nice to be able to see the sun rise over the Mekong. Service was ok, except for our first day, when we returned to find the room had not been made up. For a business hotel, I was surprised to find that we didn't have a wireless internet connection in the room. Over all, a functional choice in Phnom Penh.
Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!
