Nice resort ”
Very nice resort, big but many space ,the suite is great, breakfast very good and every day different, stuff very kind and helpful . Now also Wi-Fi for free available, it works well in 80% of the resort, very happy stay there and come again
FamilyHotel located at the south end of Klong Dao beach.”
Space in the hotel area, clean room, good bed. Little bigger size of bathroom with separate shower place. Buffet breakfast but with limited selection (but ok if the stay is shorter). Pool area for relaxing family’s. -Minus, some walk distance to get a nice beach (stone cliffs right outside of the hotel).
At the end of Khlong Dao beach with big rooms”
Large resort with 1 large pool & 1 smaller with water slide, buffet breakfast w.1 Thai item, friendly service, end of Khlong Dao beach with short walk to swim, few loungers in shade overlooking the water (quiet, great view & bar closeby) many restaurants along beach, laundry & couple small convenience stores on road nearby (water, liquor, ice cream) less min 5 min walk, 30 minute walk to 7-11, about 10 walk to ATM, front desk will arrange tours. Overall, good place to stay and would stay again if the opportunity arises.
Good location but refurbishment of rooms needed and restaurant services to be revamped”
Interner&wifi not working during our entire stay (5 days), food was horrible in quality and breakfast service extremely poorly managed. Rooms very clean and spacious, but would need some refurbishment, especially bathroom.
So clean so quiet and size does matter. ”
We stayed for 5 nights and have a great stay. The villa is huge and especially great for family with young children. It's the size of the bedroom, and many railing to hang your wet or dry stuffs which I found many resorts are lacking, a simple hook or railing. Kudos to the house keeping, the villa was kept really clean. The Holiday Villa is located at the wnd of the Klong Dao beach. 7 eleven and Laundry Sue is about 10 minutes walk but you do need a transportation to get to Saladan Village for the night market and above water seafood restaurant. Tuk tuk cost 100 bath on single journey. Klong Dao beach is a family beach, the water is shallow at low tide but with huge sand area to play volley ball or running.
Relaxing holiday at the beach”
We had a lovely stay. The hotel arranged our transfer from Krabi airport by private van (2 hour journey) at a reasonable cost one way - definitely recommended. We booked some nice day trips through the hotel on arrival. The beach is a few steps away and beautiful, with plenty of other restaurants all along to choose from!
Perfect for families with younger kids”
i can strongly recomend holiday villa hotel. we lived in a pool villa which consisted of a bed room and a "living room" plus a very big bath room plus a nice terrce with sun protection outside the villa. the beds are a little bit hard but not worse than in any other place. the rooms are not luxurious but they do hava a minibar with very decent prices and it is cosy. three things make this hotel very good. prices, service and pool area. in my opinion you get much value for money both with regards to the price for the room but also the prices in the restaurants. the pool area is excellent, there is one bigger pool for adults and a smaller pool with a water slide for younger kids. if you wish to take a bth in the sea then the hotel is located on the beach so you can go directly into the ocean. the services is though what really makes this hotel good, the lady that owns the hotel is very service minded and nice, the staff has been properly trained and is very nice. i have stayed in some hotels in thailand where the thai staff is very uninterested and don't care, that is not the case here. all staff, from driver to restaurant staff are pleasant and give good service. the only thing i would like to improve is the option to get extra towels in the swimming area and that the cleaners would look more carefully to see if schampoo etc needs to be replaced.
Nice large balcony”
Pulled up to a very tired and outdated complex. The outside once had a fountain that looked like it ceased to work years ago.The reception was tired, old and in desperate need of some atmosphere. The reception staff were not that friendly and it was a case of here is your key and off you go. The resort is large and not really to my taste as I prefer smaller places. It is great if you are a family and have young kids as there is a kids pool and the staff in the restaurant where great with the kids. At the bottom of the hotel is the beach with it variety of bars and restaurants. This is not the best beach of Koh Change but as the sun goes down and the fairy lights go on in the bars it transforms. There are some great places to drink, Escape bar has a really friendly Thai guy that speaks great English. There are other bars that have fire shows in the evening. The room we had was large and spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a bath and separate shower. The room had a large balcony with great views (our suite was upstairs)and a raised area with mattresses to sunbathe on.If you want somewhere to holiday with Children this could be ok but if you want to be at a place without them stay away. I only had 2 nights here and after the first night I would have left had it not been for the lovely locals running the bars. Personally I could not have stayed here for any longer as there are much better beaches on Koh Change
A great stay but no luxury”
We arrived during low season and therefore we were the only guests in the hotel. We were upgraded to a beach villa, which was huge and very comfortable. We were also served breakfast in the room! In general, the rooms have wonderful potential, but they should be urgently renovated. Once they are (perhaps during this low season?), it will be a great hotel. The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful. The location is good because it's quite close to town (better to take a motorcycle if it's too hot to walk). The beach is a bit rocky, but within a 5 minutes walk, you can get to a very nice one. All in all, we got much more than what we expected due to the upgrades!
a nice hotel, the rooms are all bungalows and are nice and clean but the bathroom could do with upgrades. the walk ways to the rooms aren't very well kept, slightly over grown. it has a nice pool and a lovely breakfast restaurant. it's just a short tuc tuc ride away from the centre of town.
Great place, very clean, comfortable, focused on family with kids needs. ”
We had a room with a pool just in front of and that made our every day spent in the hotel. Room is very good size, also the bathroom. I have no point to complain.
Really nice to stay at this resort. The staffs here are very friendly, the villas are very spacious and clean.
Big clean & calm bungalow”
Topp: 77qm bungalow with own bedroom, cleaning every day, very calm, directly on the beach, 2 kidspool and 1 for adults. Even the resort was fully booked it was not crowdy at the pool or somewhere else. Good for kids and relaxing too. Flop: breakfast.. every day the same and poor, restaurant was really poor.. noone were eating there in the nighttime We had Bungalow with Gardenview and moved then to Bungalow with seaview It was much lighter and mosquitofree. I got a lot.. around 25 bites .
Will not be returning”
I stayed at Holiday Villa for six nights with two friends. The rooms were spacious and very nice. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a good selection and tasted good. The price of things at the hotel were very expensive. Their tours are more than any of the other hotels on the beach. The price of laundry was per item and not the standard 40 baht per KG that you could get anywhere else. The massage prices were listed at 100 baht more in the hotel book than what the lady was charging if you booked with her. The beach was okay- but it was not a beach for swimming or laying out on. It is very rocky and the high tide comes in to the top of the beach. The one issue we did have was with one staff member. She checked us in and was cranky and rude to us upon arrival. The other staff members were excellent and always said hello or gave a smile. One lady at the front desk was outstanding and called some of our bookings to confirm for us. When we were waiting to leave, our taxi was running late and we had already had a tour not pick us up so we wanted to confirm that they were coming. We asked the same lady who had checked us in to call. She said she wanted 20 baht to call. The price was obviously not the issue, but if I'm paying 20,000 baht to stay for the week- I do not expect to be paying to use the phone. Especially when other staff members have called on our behalf and had never asked for any money. We had to call and paid her the money and she threw a phone at us. We don't speak Thai and it was very disappointing to see that kind of behaviour, when every other staff member had been exceptional.
Stayed in a more expensive room with sea view- accommodation massive and luxurious! We were very pleased to find this beauty and had a relaxing 4 nights here. Then stayed for 2 nights in a deluxe double which was ok to good. I think they have a problem with plumbing as both bathrooms had an eerie smell- especially the second one. Although both clean, resort well kept and they seem to take pride in a good level of cleanliness. Prices on the room seem to fluctuate so advice to watch deals and book in advance for best deal. We were pleased to find, as at the bay when arrived to koh lanta we were taken by a man in a tuk tuk (rookie error, I know!) to a a beach bungalow with holes throughout in it for bugs to crawl in with horrible cleanliness generally intensified with goat excrement outside rotting in the seering heat. Swiftly said a big NO to that one and we booked this hotel instead which in comparison was such a relief to find! We were travelling around Thailand as a couple and spent 6 nights here at the end of our travels and found it relaxing. Hired scooter for 2 days to explore beautiful island which was amazing! Quite a lot of families and SOME couples too, nice little stay although boyfriend thought it was more of an older person resort, I found it an all rounder. 👍🏻 one tip for staff: breakfast could be improved as seems to all run out at 945 am and then ppl can turn feral in the fear they may not get their grub. I had an encounter at the toaster fighting over bread 😡 So ideal time to go is probably abt 9am. I enjoyed my time here.
The highly edited photos and 'beach villa' sold us”
We wanted to go all out for our first time in Koh Lanta. So we booked a nice villa on the beach. After the long walk from the lobby to our villa, we started noticing that we were sold by the overly edited online photos of the property. Pool was so so. No real beach to relax on. None the less we were quite surprised on the large size. Especially the bathroom! But after cruising around the island, we just felt that the Villa wasn't worth the extra money. Especially in the location, far away from all the romantic beach bars and restaurants (inaccessible) because of the beach Pointe. Next time we'll definitely save our $$ and get something on Long Beach.
Big bungalows in peaceful area”
We had really nice stay and everything but the reception was good. The beach is near and the pool and room were great. The reseption looks messy and outdated compared to rest of the hotel. The lady at the reseption was unfriendly or even rude both times (checkin and out) we met her. On checkout she did not even look at us and barely said a word and almost managed to ruin this hotel experience for us.
Large, clean rooms”
Holiday Villa is quite big resort. The beach isn't very good, but there are many other nice beaches in south, you can easily rent a motobike and drive there. Hotel is located about 2 km from Saladan center, but there are also many restaurants nearby. The breakfast is average, the coffee comes from a machine and is terrible. Some of the quests had their own nescafe with them.. :D They have eggstation, toast, yougurt etc. so it's ok, but we have had better breakfast too. Hotel offers free wifi, allthoug it does not work in rooms, only in restaurant, and usually it didn't work at all. Hotel has nice pool, especially for the kids with couple slides. Overall hotel was ok, especially the room was very nice, but little bit too expensive.
Alltogether nice resort with some exceptions. Lazy staff at the restaurant (normal?) Don´t take the beach front villa if you´re not ready to wake up at 6am (longtail boats start 6 sharp). The lower part of the Klong Dao beach is rocky and a bit messy. Pools ok.
Nice hotel, good staff but not so good beach”
The staff in the redemption doesn't speak so good English and they didn't give any information about the resort or the island when we arrived. The rooms are very nice and so is the pool with a kids pool, jacuzzi and a big area to swim around. If you go down to the beach you can find a lot of restaurants. Places to relax on with a glass of beer or wine and nice staff there as well. All and all it's a very nice hotel.
