Hotel Sinclairs Bayview Port Blair
Away from mainland”
Have some trouble when check in but overall good hospitality. Good location facing ocean view. Understand the place away from mainland and price is high. No wifi connection in the room. Still believe that this is one of the best choice for traveler from overseas.
Clean rooms with an excellent view ”
We stayed there for a couple of days. The rooms were pretty spacious and clean with breathtaking views of the bay. Food at the restaurant was average but service could have been better. The swimming pool was very disappointing with a very unclean look and no showers nearby- didn’t feel like getting in. The View and the location are good enough to make up for the drawbacks though
Overrated for sure”
While I saw this hotel was rated high in general, me and my family had below average experience. The following were the highlights 1. The person who came with us for showing us our room (which we didn't need or ask for - we are usually fine to walk with our luggage) wouldn't leave, looking for a tip. Finally, I had to literally ask him to leave. 2. We had complain twice over the phone and then walk to the reception for someone to take a look a fan in our room that was not working. 3. Service items were transported in the lift used by guests and they hold the lift for ever, making it unavailable for people on the top floors 4. During peak checkout time, there was only one guy at the front desk and it took us more than an hour - that too after prepaying for the room and hence had nothing to pay for. 5. Last but not the least, the service at the restaurant was also sub par. There were ore people to serve than the people eating but still we had to shout for water every time.
Staff was not cooperative at all”
Staff should have been more friendly and professional
As one of those familiar Hotel chains we planned for a night stay at Sinclair’s. It is also one of the oldest property in Portblair. Guess they constantly renovates to keep its standards. PROS Quality & Comfortable Rooms Friendly & ethical staff members Wide spread Buffet Breakfast. They are one of the kid friendly hotel. They doesn’t charge for certain food items for kids & ready to provide as per our desire CONS High tariff rates in case of Direct booking. Instead they could provide additional combo deals with this pricing. Over all it was a quality stay
37th Anniversary Time Out”
It was a pleasant stay at Sinclairs. Only cliche was at Pool, no one attended, the pool had floating leaves, twigs from trees, and insects (that I did clean) though I informed the reception of going to pool. After an hour when I needed a towel, my wife had to go around looking for someone to help, no one in vicinity either. Great experience was with the FnB Manager, Mr. Sudheep... He was just around us understanding our tastes in a very friendly way and arranging with the chef food that met above our expectations. Thanks Sudheep, you are an asset to Sinclairs. Wifi was an issue, some important communication missed out, out of work requirements. Otherwise it was a memorable stay and will definitely book again happily at the next opportunity. Thanks to whole team Sinclairs.
Very nice view”
The hotel has a very friendly staff and a superb view of the sea.
Best hotel with best view!!!”
Location and view from room is awesome. Staff is polite & food quality also good. Overall, value for money.
Too costly when compared to others”
Only the food is good , not very neat there is lot of dust in the corridors , Rooms were ok, Cost is high when compared to other hotels in portblair
Hotel was extreemly good. But as swimming pool was not available to use. ”
The pool was under maintenace, but I paid for the whole facility not for exception.
A trip to the Andaman Islands and Port Blair”
This was an extraordinary find. We stayed at this hotel before we went to Havelock, and at first thought, a nice hotel with a view would be good. However, this place was terrific, and we quickly fell in love with it. The views of the bay were breathtaking. The Japenese bunker was really cool. Best part, the food was kind enough to order seconds. When we come back we'll stay a few more days there - call it base camp for great adventures with good food. A caveat? Of course, this place is perfect for romantic getaways, seclusion, fantastic views, and good eating. Great food was not easy to find in this area.
Be nice when it's finished ”
Nice clean room with sea views and and a comfy bed. The breakfast selection was very good and delicious. All the staff were very polite, helpful and friendly. However there was a lot a construction work still on going and areas that were open to guests had deadly health and safety issues. Children can not be left unsupervised. I feel this hotel has been opened 6 months too early. However it will be nice when it's finished and safe for guests to use.
Hotel room was clean and spacious. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good. Lunch and Dinner was average
minibar fridge was dirty
The stay was pleasant. Location was central and view from the room was awesome. On my second stay during my vacation they gave an upgrade which was fantastic
Breath taking view”
Fantastic view of the ocean from your room . Get up early for a sunrise view.
Good property but improvemets needed in the restaurant”
Nice clean property with polite staff. The view from the rooms is good and they are spacious. But there are a few things lacking. A working WiFi with internet is required. They had a WiFi which was not working and they did not even make an attempt to fix it. Secondly, the options in the restaurant were limited. The waiters and manager kept complaining about the difficulty in getting produce to Andaman because everything is imported from mainland. When I asked why they do not have enough options for sea food, one of them said most of the dishes in Andaman are not edible. That seemed ridiculous because other restaurants have more options.
great location excellent sea view”
Rooma here have an excellent view of the sea. This hotel packs a couple of surprises like housing the WW2 bunker made by Japanese Army during their 3 year occupation of the Andaman. Very well behaved and warm staff. good work !!
It is a very expensive hotel if compare to prices with the type of hotel rooms. But the location is superb.
Dirty and run down rooms”
The property is gorgeous and such a great location. The rooms are so so badly in need of a renovation. This place would be a 1 or 2 star property in Canada. If they put some money into the rooms it would be lovely. Too bad...
