Sony is the soul of this place. Very kind and accommodative . The reception and common areas have amazing views. I wish rooms also had the views of mountains
The worst experience of being in a hotel, decided to leave one day earlier for the same cause”
Very nice and dirty, food is horrible
Great stay and hotel location is at certain height where complete view of city is possible..”
Good hotel and definitely want to visit again...
Stayed there with family, it was our 1st time in Ooty and each member of the family enjoyed the hospitality. The hotel staff was very welcoming and kind. Partha (restaurant manager) along with his staff was very grateful to decorate our dinner tables. Location: Amazing views to the valley, very picturesque Food: yummy... the Chef cooked amazing dishes n even accepted our request to prepare off the menu items. Staff: there are many interns working in the hotel who come from various backgrounds. It was nice to see the youngsters who are serious about the hospitality sector and extend all possible help to make the guests stay memorable. Will definitely stay there on our next visit. Recommended to enjoy a great hospitality!
Good hospitality, very nice garden and great views of ooty”
Pros: the hotel is clean, good hospitality. They offered heater at night since at night it would be as cold as 9'c in ooty. I've enjoyed the tea in the cafe which you can see the global view of ooty and remember don't miss the sunset which is so romantic there!
Hotel made the trip comfortable and satisfied”
Location, clean rooms& bed, fabulous indoor activities, good restaurant and excellent service in all aspects..Toilets were small but well designed with all features..Overall stay will make me(us) visit again..Thank u Sinclairs,Ooty:)
Great location and architecture, hopeless maintenance....”
Hotel is an architectural beauty (20+ years ago) with great views, but suffers from poor maintenance and lack of modernization. Toilets were leaking water, the gym room and spa was horrendously maintained (water leaking from the roof, no equipment, no working lights etc)....Staff dont understand anything but Hindi (irrespective of the hotel being in Tamil Nadu). Maybe eh owners need to visit their property more frequently....
Not worth the Money spent”
The Rooms are old and not so clean. The play area is absolutely shabby and stinking. The food is good but the banquet where its served is not at all good. Its overly priced and not at all recommended. Try some good hotels in Coonoor instead
Expensive for the money that they charge”
The hotel is away from main market, so you have to travel a lot every time to go to market. I had explicitly told about giving a quiet room to us but their senior reservation manager didn't take note of that and gave us a room below their utensils cleaning unit. There was lot of noise till late night. I had to tell reception about it and then they changed my room. But allotting us that when I had demanded quiet room is irresponsible. My room amenities include slippers and hair dryer on website, but wasn't actually there. There was no disposal bag for sanitary napkins in premium hotel! Room and washroom is very congested. Their reception, dining room and cleaning staff is friendly and cooperative though! One of their managers must be a Bengali. That guy was affectionately speaking to only Bengali travellers. May be people like us didn't matter to him! Stay here only if you want the satisfaction of having stayed in hotel wit brand name, else find another one. You may have ample choices
Air condition was turned off every day at the middle of the night--caused sleep disruption. Bed was making noises. New year party could be improved more. Food was good. Hotel car was expensive and there were some hidden costs.
Overall enjoyed. I recommend others to visit this hotel. ”
Pros: Hotel exterior is simply amazing. Breakfast was too good Staffs were co-operative Cons: Not really Cons. I would rather say minor issues room fixtures were not well maintained. was looking like old. Part of the curtain was torn Exhaust fan was not working
Comfortable and good stay”
The hotel is at a good location. Not too far from the city centre. They hotel has a beautiful garden and open sitting area. However, it’s not utilised well. The rooms are comfortable. The view we had from our room was amazing. The food at the hotel tastes good. The staff is courteous. So overall a good experience and stay ...
A 50- 50 Recommendation”
Sinclair's location is all thumbs up, is nice. The ambience is awesome. The staff is really co-operative. The food quality and the service is good. Suggestions- 1. The food menu. Only North Indian food is served throughout the day except breakfast. No variety or option. You are a 4 star hotel and you get guests from all over India. The menu should be diversified, cannot have heavy food for the whole day. 2. The Wifi - we have to keep asking for wifi credentials as it was valid for 6 hrs only. Again it's a 4 star hotel, the wifi access should be more convenient.
Best hotel in ooty”
Beautiful place to stay.would like to visit again for long holidays.
Front Desk Reception was terrible”
Had it not been the less than courteous reception at the front-desk , I might have recommended this place to folks looking for a decent place to stay in Ooty (on a budget). The location is superb (slightly isolated) and has a beautiful lookout /vista of the Nilgiris . The property is in need of a face-lift and they absolutely need to address the ventilation in the rooms. Since the room are not air-conditioned , the only way to ventilate the room is by opening the windows. Sheets and towels are threadbare and should be replaced, definitely not what I was expecting from a "starred" property.
Not Comfortable Stay”
Generally all staff were very polite and forthcoming especially managers at front desk and could converse in English . I can’t say the same for housekeeping and F&B staff s, was given the impression by these staff that the hotel was more catered for Hindi speaking guests . Bed was very uncomfortable and shaky . Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and at least for 3 nights were bitten by some micro insects in between sheets in the middle of the night and thus had a very bad sleep and if your partners toss and turns, the bed will become very shaky and wake the other person up . Linens were stained even after they were replaced and cleanliness was zero , especially at the housekeeping side .
very good place a for a family vacation in Ooty”
it was a very pleasant experience, we had very good time staying there. Nice Hotel with good amenities. easy to locate on map. situated on top of hill. very good view from the hotel. food was very tasty, good options to choose from. buffet breakfast was very good. Staff were extremely nice & courteous.
SINCLAIRS A TREAT FOR YOU TO ENJOY”
Good : 1. Excellent hotel location on top of ooty with very good View. 2. Breakfast is superb really worth the Money (Cornflakes, juice, Idli, poori, pongal, bread, boiled egg, omlet, fruits, coffee/Tea. 3. Rooms are very good (Medium size), Bathroom very good(Medium size). 4. Heaters Provided on request(No extra charges) & No Air conditioner as its really cool 5. Garden Area is very good. Bad: 1. Wifi provided only for 6hrs from the time we login to wifi, only for one phone wifi will be provided. 2. No Swimming Pool
Excellent location and enjoyable family stay”
Had stayed for 2 nights here on a family trip. Hotel is located on a hill top and Is at walkable distance from the tea factory and about 10mins drive by car to boat house. As its on a hill, this isn't in the heart of city type hotel with small roads and congested traffic which is what I had wanted and you get a very nice view from the garden especially during night with all the lights in ooty. Also the hotel staff is very helpful and there is car parking facility in the premises. Lobby area and large garden are their plus points and they also have a kids indoor play area where you can let your kids alone to play on their own without any fears. The play area also has a good badminton court, TT table, Snooker, chess, carrom and also a cardio gym with sauna. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. The restaurant food was OK, but if you're a hardcore tandoori chicken person and want a large variety of food, best to eat out as the hotel does not provide tandoori items. We had ordered some parathas, Chinese chicken and daal which were good. Breakfast options were decently good , specifically liked the puri and sambar. Overall a good place to stay on a family trip and excellent value for money for the 3500/- per night room that I had stayed in👍
The Hotel is filled with good souls and energetic personnel. Great hospitality , , Great Food, quality persons monitoring the operation. Just need to pump up the Bar and Bar management service.Truly five star , the missing pool can compensated by affection and care .
