It is rather uncommon that a hotel charges guests to use the Gym and swimming pool. Hyatt Regency Tokyo charges 2000yen/person/entry. I think Gym and swimming pool should be part of an offered facility should not be run like a restaurant. The other complaint would be the safety box. Apparently , the box can be literally removed from the cabinet. Normally this is screwed on to the cupboard or cabinet. I am not sure if this is the same for every room.
The hotel situated 15 minutes walk from shinjuku station. However there are free shuttle bus from hotel to shinjuku station every 20 mnts. There is also tochomae metro station right under the hotel that can connect to shinjuku station. We were upgraded to a better room during check in. But didn’t hyatt rewards point because booking was made through agoda. We stayed for the Tokyo Marathon and the location is somewhat perfect for the start of the marathon.
great comfort awesome and expensive but reasonable”
wide ,clean and comfortable room to stay the extra bed is real bed it is hyatt standard and it is value to your money of course easy to travel from airport because limosine bus service is available direct at the hotel front door. If i have a chance i would come n visit here again The hotel has shuttle bus service everyday from shinjuku to hotel(both round trip) so it is very convenient. There is nearby starbuck cafe just cross the road to hilton hotel side building and there is minimart located underground
Great Location, Lobby, hotel room”
The hotel was on top of the train station, & has a mini mart just downstairs! There is a park opposite & we could see some Sakura blooming during our visit. It was pretty! Room was clean, big enough. Bed was comfortable as well. Lobby was huge & pretty with a big chandelier in the middle. Hotel staffs was friendly & eager to help out. Perhaps it's the Japanese standard, but 1 manager go all the way to walk us to the train station JUST to make sure we know the way. Very good touch & I can be sure I'll go back again on my next trip!
Good location, peaceful setting”
We stayed in one room for 3 nights with our adult daughter. The room was comfortable and a reasonable size with a beautiful view of the park and Mt Fuji in the distance. This is the 2nd time I have stayed in this hotel. It is less than 10 mins walk to Shinjuku station and shopping area (most of the walk to the station can be done using the underpass if the weather is cold or wet). The hotel also provides a shuttle bus. Close proximity to the park also means that it is a peaceful refuge after a day's busy sightseeing. Our deal included a choice of Japanese set menu or Western buffet breakfast and there was an excellent selection. Overall, we felt it was good value for money. We also ate one night in the Caffe which had a reasonable range of pizza, pasta & other Western style dishes. We found the staff to be very efficient, polite and friendly. I would definitely be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the Shinjuku area.
New Year's stay at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo”
We booked a three night stay at this 36 year old property in Shinjuku - it really is an icon in the area. The entrance facing the monolithic Tokyo met building says built in 1980. The hotel has since upgraded its interiors with a new look lobby decorated with a dramatic gigantic kite with a famous kabuki character , rooms that have modern facilities and a contemporary wabi sabi feel. The staff are fluent in English and very helpful. We managed to get a reservation at the hotel's Chinese restaurant for our NYE's dinner, book airport transportation to Narita on Jan 2nd and enjoy the NYE choir and jazz performance in the lobby! And catch a stunning view of Fujisan from the Regency Club floor west window.
Great stay in great hotel”
The hotel is strategically located on top of train station so the connectivity is excellent. There is 7-11 store also within the hotel complex so it's very easy to shop for meals and grocery. The hotel is excellent. The attention to detail is excellent.
Very spacious room.”
Located right in the middle of the city. With its spacious rooms, superbly appointed bathrooms, amazing views, it is at the top of my list of great hotels. The Club lounge is wonderful. The restaurants are at peak quality and service.
Free shuttle bus”
Free shuttle bus to shinjuku but the hotel is located at tochomae station not shinjuku but u can walk from the shinjuku station like 10minute walk The facilities and hotel room are perfect and of course it is 5 stars hotel
It was a great stay. The staffs went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The room itself feels a little dated but it was clean and comfortable. There is a free shuttle bus running every 20 minutes to Shinjuku station so it is very convenient.
Amazing Hotel Hyatt Regency in Shinjuku”
I stayed at the Hyatt on 5day-4night vacation from 23rd September. It was a very good stay because the staff were super efficient at everything. My only bugbear was that the room service menu was only available for a short period of time. Sadly this meant that you should check the timings because after 8.45pm, most items on the dinner menu woudl not be served as the kitchen was closed. The hotel also provides a complimentary shuttle to Shinjuku station more than 3 times an hour during the day. This was so very convenient. You might like to take a walk to Shinjuku Station by yourself but this would take you about 15 to 20 mins. It was raining during the time I was there so I was thankful for the shuttle service. The airport limousine bus also stops here and from Haneda Airport, this took about 35 minutes. The hotel room is very comfortable and there are some good tv channels to watch. I watched quite a bit of Sumo wrestling in the afternoons. The toilet facilities are great and there are always enough amenities. A very enjoyable stay and I would like to come stay there again.
Our stay at Hyatt Regency was quite pleasant. Centrally located with walking distance to Shinjuku (shuttle bus available as well). Room is quite small however very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would come back again for my next trip to Tokyo
Knowing that we were coming with young children so the hotel prepared an extra bed for us in the room even without us asking. Thumb up! Room is clean & comfortable, and hotel location is good but not the best as it's not located above main line. Downside is that there is no free WIFI in the room!
Exceeded expectations ”
I was fortunate enough to be upgraded to a deluxe room which was absolutely fantastic. It looked as though it had recently been refurbished and I really could not find anything you could fault. I would definitely come back. The location is a little out of the way in a business district, but this means it is quiet at night. Transport is very convenient with access to the Marunouchi subway and Oedo subway lines and only a 15 min walk to Shinjuku.
Hyatt Regency Tokyo”
Fantastic stay. Very comfortable room, which on the 23rd floor gave great views of the local area. The hotel is easy to find from the subway station (about a 5 minute walk down one street - not likely to get lost) and once you get there everything is very easy and relaxing. Staff were great and knowledgeable, and always willing to help.
This is a big hotel!”
This is a big hotel, their lobby is huge :)! It's in a good location you can easily walk to Shinjuku area, the hotel also provides a shuttle service to the Shinjuku station. Good room size, considering it's Tokyo, great view over the surrounding areas. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, but after a long day out, the room suits its purpose. Good stay here, peaceful and quiet.
Spacious and newly renovated”
This was my 3rd stay at Hyatt Regency Shinjuku. The Hotel was not new, but the room type I stayed this time was Deluxe City View, it was newly renovated and feeling very comfortable. I like the shuttle bus to Shinjuku station and the airport limousine services very much. They are just at the front door and made my trip very convenient. I will consider to stay at the same Hotel again in the near future.
the rooms were very big and comfortable~! manageable walking distance from shinjuku stn to hotel (abt 15mins light-walk). the only thing that requires improvement is the shower-head; it was pretty lacking for a 5-star hotel. other than that, we wld def consider staying at this hotel again when we come to tokyo!
Upon arrival I was given an upgrade to a deluxe room with a lovely view of the park. Staff were very attentive and the concierge offered useful directions and maps to help me find the studio where I was due to attend a workshop. I didn't eat in the hotel at all, but the bakery downstairs offers a reasonable selection of light snacks. I organised a late 3pm check out, which was charged at a fairly reasonable 30% of room rate paid. My only niggle concerns the charge for wi-fi in the room. I realise this is common in Japanese hotels, but it does seem a bit like penny pinching given how much these big hotels are already charging. This aside, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Central Tokyo.
good service and location”
Great location for seeing and going around Tokyo. very close to Shinjuku Station with hotel shutter bus to and from station make it convience to go almost everywhere. Comfortable room with Japanses stardard housekeeping.
