A quiet location, this location is a small, romantic boutique hotel has wowed many previous visitors. Located just a short walk from the famous Malioboro Street, the hotel is far enough away from all the businesses that, while fun to visit, many visitors wish to escape from after a day of the hustle and bustle. Exceptional lighting, four-post beds with very comfortable bedding, and a tranquil pool area in the central courtyard are truly relaxing. Be absolutely certain to check out the local temples and palaces in the region, including The Kraton Palace, the largest Southeast Asia Hindu temple Prambanan, and the world's largest Buddhist temple - Borobudur. Overall, if a quiet getaway near the tourist spot is what one desires, the Jogja Village is a top choice for the area. Jogja Village can be easily booked with our secure online booking form. Wonderful Place and amazing staff”
We were 4 friends that planned jojga trip over long weekend. Stayed in Jogja village. Its lush green environment and salt water pool is something to die for. Loved our stay there. Food is okay. Staff is very courteous. They also arranged a cab and tickets for Borobudur temple trip for us well in advance. Fortunate to attend their pool party as well.. it was crazy!!!!
Love the place”
The olace is soo good and peaceful. If you really try to find a nature environment with touch of javanese, then this is the perfect place. The staff was really nice and helpful, the price of the restaurant is not that high and have a good quality taste of the food. Really recommended! I would love to comeback again to jogja village.
What a find! The Village Inn is truly an oasis in the chaos of a big Indonesian city. While from the street it does not look especially inviting, once you enter the gardens, you will know you have picked the perfect place for relaxing, swimming, dining, and sleeping. The water in the pool is silky - the result of a saline reverse osmosis process. The rooms are sweet, and Dhori makes every meal a delight!
Very beautiful resort!”
We were greeted with a nice welcome drink and towels. After settling down in our room, we were invited to an afternoon tea by the pool. The decorations in the room were gorgeous (traditional Javanese style). They even have their own unique shampoo and bath gel containers, which was really cool. Overall, this place is worth every penny spent!
Nice hotel with great staff”
We had a 2 day break in Yogyakarta and spent very little time in hotel due to sightseeing. The hotel is similar to those in Bali, very boutique and nice decoration. Staff very friendly and it has a good size pool in the centre. There's massage, hairdresser, meditation place and even a movie room. Only downside was our room was quite damp as we were on ground floor and the weather was very wet during our visit.
My fiance and I stayed at Dusun for just two nights, but we wish we could have stayed longer. We loved it from the moment we walked in to the moment we checked out, it was amazing. We loved the Indonesian decor and laid-back peaceful vibe. The pool was beautiful, and the open-air restaurant was great. My fiance said that their chicken satay is the best he's ever had anywhere! We will definitely come back to Dusun the next time we're in Yogyakarta.
Dear Bridget, We love to read your beautiful reviews. We are happy that you and fiance enjoyed every moment in our DUSUN. Thank you as well for mentioning our chicken satay. We look forward to your return stay. Take care! Sincerely yours, Management
Experience Javanese culture.”
Jogja Village is a gem... a comfortable (and affordable) paradise, away from the traffic and pollution that has become part of a growing Jogya. The rooms are charmingly Java-style... and beware of the pool and restaurant area, because they become difficult to leave!
Dear Antony, It was delighting reading your reviews. Thank you for your kind appreciation to our hotel. We would always welcome your return. Best regards, Management
Home away from home...”
Jogja is a wonderful place to "be"... and sometimes you never want to leave the place! The staff are smiling, kind and very helpful... and the place itself is a comfortable getaway, from the traffic and pollution you will experience just outside the doors. The rooms are decorated in the traditional Javanese style and have a timeless elegance... even the food is quite good. You will not be disappointed!
Dear Antony, It is actually our hotel's goal to be your home away from home. Therefore, we are very delightful knowing that you feel that way. We are glad that we can present you a different kind of experience in our hotel. Thank you for posting this reviews and you are always welcomed anytime in DUSUN. Sincerely yours, Management and Staff
Fabulous oasis in Jogya!! ”
Had a fantastic birthday weekend with my husband at Dusun Jogja!!! It exceeded our expectation in all aspects from ambience, service, staff, comfort, etc! Can see in the smallest details that everything has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable and you as welcomed as possible! Eg international plug adapted sockets, ear plugs, etc.
Dear Wai, It is our honor to be part of your journey in Jogjakarta city. We are always happy to pamper our guests with every details in our services and facilities. We are aware that there are many things that we still could improve, therefore, we strive everyday to keep up with our work here. We wish you and husband a happy and healthy life. Until we meet again in Dusun Jogja Village Inn! Best regards, Management
Beautiful hotel with helpful staff”
Everything about this hotel is wonderful - the staff always have a smile and eager to help, they even remember our names, the hotel grounds and rooms are clean, the restaurant food is good. Would come back for a romantic getaway!
quiet and comfortable”
lovely place to relax with great gardens, pool and restaurant. Short walk to supermarket, pharmacy & cheap massage. Longer walk (or trishaw) to good restaurants. Taxi to the city centre is not expensive (US$5 or so). Staff friendly and helpful. I did enjoy my time here however I do think it is a little overpriced.
We loved this place, in its beautiful garden and pool setting. Our deluxe balcony room was very comfortable and well-equipped. All the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, efficient and always smiling, but never intrusive. We also enjoyed eating in the restaurant, and chose to have dinner there each evening as the food was so good and the atmosphere was so pleasant.
Very enjoyable stay in this lovely hotel”
We just love our stay in Dusun Jogja Village Inn. From the moment we passed the check in counter, we fell in love with the beautiful garden surrounding the hotel. Our room is a dream - cottage like with outdoor bathroom and own balcony. It's really a home from the city's hustle and bustle. As we walked around the hotel, we found more aesthetically pleasant and smart design that impressed us so. The owner Paul said hi to us at breakfast table, and soon, we knew why the hotel is so perfect. Paul's attention to details is a joy to experience and glad, that all his friendly, wonderful staff share his passion for excellence in design and service. We hope to come back!
Stayed for 2 nights here at the Dusun. Gotta say, when we arrived, i was a little disappointed with the lobbys facade. It was a little bare and plain. But once we stepped into the path leading to the rooms, it was a very nice suprise to see beautiful landscaping and a nice big pool. It has a very nice resort feel to the whole place, and its plain to see whoever tended to the gardening and landscaping, it was done with much care and love. We stayed in one of the rooms on the 2nd floor, which had a spacious balcony overlooking the pool, very nice indeed.Rooms were very comfortable and clean as well. Ah, the only setback is the hotel's logo is a gecko (yeeeeks) and has plenty of gecko symbols and gecko themed deco, so if you are not a fan, it can get quite creepy! Hotel location was not bad, walking distance to some eateries. Nothing much to shop tho. But not a problem since a short taxi ride away is very cheap and convenient. Perhaps 10 mins away from Malioboro. Hotel staff were very warm and friendly. Ready smiles and cheerful greetings whenever u see them. Overall, i think that Dusun is a very cosy and lovely little hotel. Its nothing glamorous, but if u are looking for something comfortable, cosy n warm, relaxing and with a local touch, its quite perfect.
Very nice comfy hotel tucked away from the city”
From the outside it did not look like much when we arrived but once you discover the inner sections of the hotel, it brings you to your own quiet surroundings. Like the rest, service and staff was tops. Got picked up from the airport after arranging with the hotel and the driver ended up as our driver to Prambanan and Borobudur the next day. A 6 hour charter cost about 450000Rp. The hotel is comfy and we booked 2 rooms upstairs with nice balconies overlooking the pool. Around the pool, its surrounded by a lot of greens makes it look more like a hidden lagoon kinda feel. We didn't have much time to take a dip but I am sure its fantastic. We arranged for a sunrise tour of Borobudur at a painful hour of 4am but like the rest, we were given a nice basket each with breakfast and juice. Very thoughful. Thanks JVI for making our stay a memorable one and we hope to be back soon !
Beautiful hotel with lovely staff”
Great first place to stay on our trip to Java. Courteous driver picked us up from the airport, so much easier than paying even more for a taxi but the waiting horde of 'helpful' taxi drivers! Deluxe room on the ground floor was large and spotlessly clean with antique furnishings and an outdoor bathroom (the first of many of our holiday). The gardens are lovingly looked after and the pool great to relax after breakfast and at the end of the day after sweating it out in the local area. Spa pretty basic but good value and we had a great massage. Breakfast and snacks very tasty but we did not dine there as the restaurant was very quiet but we stayed in early June. Lots of places to eat a short walk away. Easy to get about into the local area but if you hire mopeds try not to drive into a wall like one of us did!! Paid for a driver to take us up to Merapi and the resorts half way up it, our guidebook (the usual suspect) said we could ride here and to Prambanan in one day which is total nonsense unless you welcome the risk of death on a regular basis. The driver then dropped us at our hotel in Borobudur and to be honest the small amount extra you pay is more than worth it, the hotel used the same chap that picked us up from the airport who, as well as me, kept banging his head on the boot hatch of the jeep when we moved the bags in/out! We'd definitely stay here again and the price with Agoda was a lot cheaper than on their own website.
Unique and charming”
This is not for those who look for 5-star "western-style" chain hotels. If you get cranky that the floor tiles might be chipped, or that the water takes several minutes to heat up, you should probably book elsewhere. However, if you appreciate that those tiles are hand-painted, and that your shower is right next to a koi pond, then book this place immediately! It is so cute and quaint. The landscaped tropical rainforest gardens will set you in a peaceful mood as soon as you walk in. How about a massage in a teakwood pavillion next to a waterfall? Lizards scamper by, and the call to prayer echoes across the lovely pool. No, it is not perfect, but it's perfect as an idyllic spot for recharging your soul.
The hotel is set in a lush garden with pool area and little spa. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are very nice and tastefully decorated. Everything you could ask for for the price you pay, would definitely stay here again.
Excellent Hotel with warm hospitality!”
Excellent Hotel with warm hospitality! Stayed here for a weekend get-away from Singapore after a friends recommendation. The hotel feels like a small boutique beach resort in the mid of the city. Its a peaceful beautiful oasis, with unique locally styled rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food at the restaurant was one of the best we had during our stay! We were as well happy to see, that the hotel is very eco-friendly and shows that being ecological does not mean that one has to take any set-backs in comfort.
A lovely nest inside bustling Yogyakarta”
This is my second stay at this hotel. I came back for the same reason. A nice, uniquely designed room with a comfortable balcony. The hotel is styled like hacienda with interior like a colony room in a tropical country. This means a large poster bed, a spacious balcony and simple & rough furnitures. I like the friendly staffs conversing very well in English. They are very knowledgeable with Yogyakarta and can provide good recommendation for places to visit. The breakfast is nice. We didn't have buffet breakfast as there were not enough guests (we were there right before the peak period, the Moslem Holiday). Still, I made the same mistake by planning intensive excursions. Hence, I could not enjoy the homy room with its comfortable balcony for a relaxing read. Anyway, another hotel in my list that is worth to stay again in the future. :-)
