My God, Maxims daw is the only 6-star hotel in the Philippines. To me it's just 4-star. Facilities are very poor, not well-maintained. And the breakfast - nothing to eat and very poor service. Total rip off.

    “Maxims stay”

The room actually was incredible! One of the best spaces ive stayed in. Clean and very very comfortable. Internet speed was acceptable. The cable tv not very good, not many movie channels, even local channels were blurry. What was disappointing was the buffet breakfast. I suggest picking a room without the breakfast option. Worse than whats offerred at 3 star hotels.

“Nice hotel, but not really worth the money. ”

    Things I like
Very near the airport, part of resorts world so plenty of places to eat, and casino.

The stay was fine, the rooms had an older feel than what they should have. Room service was slow and as much as the room cost, there were certain items that were only available on request (e.g. a water kettle for making tea) *shrug* It took over an hour to have one brought to the room. (the tea, coffee, etc was all there, but no kettle - Very vexing!) There was one thing that will make me not return is there was a mouse (and not mickey) running down the hall. It caused another tenant to scream and fall before dodging into someones room who had just opened the door. I know that most places have mice or something, but at club level, you'd think they'd work hard to ensure that wouldn't happen.

The Maxim's Hotel rating is 6 stars because of its personal butler service, I however feel it is overrated. The food is not as good as Marriott thinking it is a 6-star hotel. The front desk person was easily irritated and had an argument with one of the clients. She had the worst attitude for a front desk personnel. She did not handle the customer well.

pros - connected to the mall and casino, nice room, spacious toilet and bathroom cons - super-late checkin! we only got our room at 4pm, the other room we got at 6pm. that, after a lot of follow-ups. their website promotes a one-is-to-one butler service, but really, i don't think this is the case in reality. except for the spacious toilet and bathroom, the bedroom didn't really feel like a suite. rather, felt just like a regular hotel room.

    Things I like
Location; in-room massage service is good and inexpensive.

We got out room only at 6pm, after numerous followup. At first, they said room will be available by 1-2pm, girl from front desk got our number saying she'll call us when room's ready. We passed the time at the mall. 3pm came, still no call. We went back to reception, room still not available. A lot of people at the lobby still waiting to be checked in, nowhere to sit - all seats occupied as we were all waiting to be given rooms. We booked two rooms, so we bugged the girl to give us at least one room so we can have somewhere to rest. At 4pm, we were given one room. She said other room will be available shorty, and that she'll call us when other room's available. 5pm came, no call, no update. Followed up, still no available room. 6pm, still no call. Reception said room's almost ready, just waiting for final inspection. After 15mins of badgering them, we finally got our room. Given the late checkin, we asked what's the latest time we can check out the next day. Guy said standard checkout is still 12nn, despite the super late checkin. I said, that is not fair because we only got our room at 6pm. He said he'll see what he can do. Eventually, we were able to negotiate a 6pm checkout time. The least they can do for all the hassle. Seriously, at their rate, i will not bother staying here again. butler service per room it's just lip-service. When you need something, process is just like a regular hotel where you call reception. Difference is instead of saying "reception, good morning/afternoon/evening", they say "butler service, good morning/afternoon/evening" when they pick up the phone. I know, because as i was at reception haggling our checkout time, someone called reception. Girl assisting me excused herself to answer the phone, thus i heard the "butler service" greeting.

This hotel is very good but very expensive and maybe not yet fitting its 6star rating... i find the adjoining marriott hotel better. We waited 2 hours just to check-in so it was around 4pm already though we were immediately informed that we will be allowed late check out the next day. The kids really enjoyed the hotel's pool and there are a lot of restaurants to choose from in the area. The hotel's breakfast though is honestly not worth the money. Overall I would rate our stay here as good! They could use some improvements in their elevators which are very very slow and in their aircons that are very very cold (no matter how you adjust the thermostat).

For our 18th wedding anniversary, I treated my husband and our kids to a week-end at the Maxim's Hotel. They loved it! The attraction is mainly in the fact that it is right next to the casino, shops and restaurants; practically all in the same building. It was exciting to choose which restaurants to eat at. We particularly liked the fact that we were able to hear mass at Resorts World; saved us a lot of trouble of having to go out and look for a church. The welcome and farewell drinks were a nice touch! The room was huge compared to other hotel rooms but the price was also higher so no complaints. The bathroom was state of the art. Just wished there was a microwave oven though; considering that this is supposed to be a 6 star hotel.

Butler service was non-existent as no one even bothered carrying our luggage nor accompany us to our room. They just gave me the key and that was it. So it left a bad first impression and we didn't bother making use of their butler service. This property is ALL SMOKING thus it's not suited for infants. If I'm to mention any pros, I would say the fixtures and the bathroom for they are 6 star worthy. Breakfast selection was not vast but I have to say it was good. I would not go back to this hotel but I would still recommend it to people who don't mind the smell of cigarette smoke deodorant filling up your lungs. It's still a good hotel but definitely not infant or child friendly.

“Perfect except for the check in”

    Things I like
elegant room design, Internet TV with wireless keyboard, fast butler response, good but affordable room food, good breakfast

The 1st and only 6-star hotel to date in the Philippines, so I decided to try it out. When I got there, I searched around for the check-in area/concierge with no luck, until a guard pointed me to a small table by the staircase where 3 people were standing. I asked them where the check-in area was--turns out, that was the concierge. I asked them if they got my reservation via Agoda, which they confirmed, then told me to check-in around 2pm. I had lunch and returned 2pm, only to find the check-in table empty. The guard told me to wait by the table. After awhile, several staff members seemed to have noticed me and another customer who was waiting to check in, and you could see them moving around frantically and talking in their cellphones and radios. Despite paying a lot of money, I let slip the "invisible" check-in table, even the waiting time of 20 minutes because there was nobody in the concierge. What turned me off was the fact that other personnel noticed us waiting and did not entertain us. They looked disorganized. No seats were around so I was standing up the whole time, looking lost and stupid as I watched the staff panic around me. The other customer who was also waiting got tired and sat at the cafe nearby, and I was tempted to do the same even though the tables had signs that said "for the cafe customers only". The staff could have simply approached me and made sure I was comfortable while they sort things out. If they didn't have a comfortable waiting area, they could have seated me in the cafe and maybe even offered me a drink while I wait. A simple gesture such as this could've "controlled" the situation. If this was a 3-star hotel, I wouldn't mind, but this was a 6-star, I expected only the best. After all, it is the service that sets apart 5-star hotels, and I had never experienced this in 5-star hotels. Despite the lousy start, once I was in, everything was perfect--best service(excluding check in), design, and features I have seen so far.
